We stayed at the Stables as a part of a wedding party in late July. The room was incredibly cheap so I was expecting it to not be good. The room looked more like a student dormitory than a hotel room but I suppose that was to be expected as High Melton is a college. The room had a TV,...

My daughter and her [now] husband booked The stables for their wedding. Everything was done to make this their perfect day. All the staff were friendly & efficient. Debbie the wedding co-ordinator was brilliant, ensuring nothing went wrong from early enquiry, through booking & preparation, to the day itself. The courtyard is an ideal place for guests to relax (or...

This hotel will not suit all tastes but it was perfect for my needs. The accommodation is separate from the reception/restaurant building and involves a trek from the car park involving a lot of steps. My room was on the top floor of an extended mansion (The Old Hall) and was formerly student accommodation, the rest of the estate comprising...

We were a party of 6 who booked quite some time ago so expected to be together, On arrival we went to reception and first impressions thinking the rooms would be near reception and the bar area we thought "Nice"...after a lengthy period of checking in bear in mind only three couples checking in the receptionist didn't seem to know...

Stayed in a family room at the old college hall of residence. The room had two singles and a double. There was plenty of space in the room and was basic but just right for our stay. The room had a wardrobe and drawers, a small flat screen TV and tea/coffee facilities. For the price I would have liked it...

This venue specialises in weddings. The rooms are small, in an old college hall of residence, but well serviced, clean, and warm. It's not quite a luxury hotel - for example my wardrobe had only a few old wire hangers to use - but then the price isn't luxury hotel either. The breakfast is a buffet, and I was a...

Stayed for one night to attend a family party in a nearby village. The photo shown on Booking.coms site is slightly misleading - we thought the room would be in The Stables . The rooms are actually in what appears to be old Halls of Residence. Our room was clean and cosy but very small - the wardrobe was at...

“My room was next to the staircase ie. first room as you entered the corridor of rooms and there was a lot of very loud slamming door sounds and giggly chatter to be overheard so if this sort of noise level would disturb you then perhaps the far end of the corridor might be better for you?”
