I stayed at this hotel on Saturday as my son's birthday meal was around the corner. The room was big and modernised and a massive bath tub! The location is fantastic if you want to walk around Old Town. The breakfast was choose from the menu and was lovely. I grew up in Swindon and used to visit this place when...

It would appear the hotel has been refurbished recently. It was evident in the rooms with fluffy new carpets and freshly painted walls. I was pleasantly surprised when I checked in as I was expecting a more mediocre room for the price. Bed fine, room fairly small but fine, bathroom is a little old fashioned but at least clean and...

Love this pub, love their food and drinks choices. It's always welcoming and we always feel looked after although if I had any feedback to give it would be to perhaps have more staff working. The carpark gets full quickly but we tend be walk round when with our family. Be prepared for a very busy bar if you visit...

Popped in with friends for an evening beer or two after work. Plenty of choice, decent prices. Only had one meal between us all as most had eaten but that looked tasty. Would come again at the weekend next time we're around in Old Town

Stayed at this charming hotel for 1 night for a works conference, Building has lots of character, I was informed by a member of staff who checked me in that the rooms had been refurbished 1 month previous and it was clear to see! Lovely and clean. Pub downstairs did fantastic food and even had one of my favorite ciders!...

We had a night out at the Goddards prior to Christmas the venue is excellent and the food to die for, simple but big !! the sharing plate was huge. There is an excellent selection of beers and wines, there is adequate chairs and table but it does get busy and then it is difficult to find a seat. I...

Decided to go for Sunday lunch today at The Goddards......big mistake, my husbands meat was stone cold, we complained and got a fresh meal. Veg was undercooked and cold and the menu said mash was included ......well it must have been invisible mash as neither of us saw it on our plates. While hubby was eating his second attempt at...

Decided to pop in for a Sunday roast, I ordered beef long rib my wife had turkey, waited what seemed like an age for the food to arrive, the vegetables on both our plates were cold and crunchy. I started eating my meat and found it stone cold! Called the waiter over, he apologised and said it would be replaced....

We booked in for 2 nights, however upon arrival it seemed we only had a room for 1 night. Now this could have been my mistake for not confirming with the guy who took the booking that he had actually booked what I asked for. Or it could be that the staff at the Goddard are a tad youthful and...

The range of beers is good at this slightly run-down pub in Swindon's old town. Breakfast was also good. Not so good was my top-floor room with crumbling plaster and a tilted floor which made the walk from my bed to the bathroom an uphill jaunt. The other negative was the confusing series of stairs which I had to negotiate...
