Just enjoyed the Valentine's menu, which was gorgeous. I doubt you will find better and more refined food in Gloucester. The service was attentive and the menu absolutely delicious. We have been going to the Wharf House for many years and this was undoubtedly the best food and presentation and service we have ever enjoyed there

Fabulous hotel and restaurant. Hannah on reception did everything possible to make our stay wonderful, David and Josh were equally efficient and helpful in the restaurant. Our room had everything you could need, wonderful toiletries, spacious, with a wonderful canal view and I loved the spa bath! The best food we have eaten in a long time with great breakfasts...

On Day 1 I ordered a bottle of wine with dinner, drank half and asked the hotel to save it for me. On Day 2, the waitress told me that my remaining half-bottle had accidentally been poured into a casserole! I was presented with a small glass of wine (no bottle to be seen) and had to plead for top-ups...

On arrival we were quickly dealt with and shown to our room which was spacious and clean. The evening meal was of good quality and well cooked but would have expected more than half a carrot and spoonful of greens as the vegetable portion. The bathroom sink was stained and pitted and there was signs of damp by the window...

We visited the Wharf House 8th Oct 2016 as a party of four. The food was excellent top class. Beautifully presented and cooked to perfection! The menu varied and interesting. Staff fairly attentive although they did forget our last round of drinks. But for food, we could not fault the place! We will definitely be visiting again and can't think...

Well what do we say, yes it is a little different to most hotels - it describes itself as a restaurant with rooms. Lets start at the beginning - The hotel is just a short distance from Gloucester, but not difficult to find using the sat nav postcode supplied. Nice location, near the canal and river severn with gentle walks...

My husband and I stayed here on 1st September and I loved it. Why, great location as on the canal and by the river. Our room was a good size and over looked the river. The bathroom was well equipped. The food in restaurant was great and I would love to go back again. If you have not visited then...

Went for lunch one Sunday; it was nice, but I would not be bothered to go again. It felt more like an ordinary dining room, than something special. It has potential to be very atmospheric, but not as it is at the moment. The food was good. It seemed odd to be walking into a "shop" area at the front...

The room we had was beautiful. We had our collie dog with us and it was perfect for him, plenty of room for his bed etc, and a short walk around the wharf just on our doorstep. The bathroom was great, large with a spa bath and overhead shower as well as a wet room shower. The staff were all...

An AA Red Rosette 4 Gold Star Restaurant with Rooms serving quality freshley prepared produce. 7 lovely ensuite rooms of real character with views of the Canal or River inclucing one ground floor room with independant access which is suitable for dogs and is fully accessable. We would strongly request and advise advance Reservations for the Restaurant. Our menus are designed as three courses, with side dishes available for those who wish, but the option to choose less courses if you wish less. We also offer both an Original and Vegeterian 7 course Tasting Menu. We would recomend bookings at least 48 hours in advance as some dates can be booked weeks in advance. ... more   less
