Lovely stay in the barn by the lamb and flag pub set in the beautiful village of Bishop Monkton. We were greeted by friendly hosts - Carol and Trevor. Carol showed us around the rooms. They were comfortable. The continental breakfast set us up for the coming day. this venue would be an excellent place to explore the surrounding countryside

We were passing this place and decided to stop for a quick lunch. We ordered sandwiches which were over 5pounds each. What we received was very poor value for money and we felt well ripped off. 2 slices of slightly dry bread with some oversalted filling and some token lettuce on the side along with 1 segment of tomato. Absolutely... More

Great location for exploring the Yorkshire Dales. Friendly attentive hosts, well appointed room and bathroom in barn conversion makes good use of space. Was initially not so happy about breakfast being continental but very pleasantly surprised by the quality and effort made. Smoked salmon and eggs on Sunday morning sealed the deal. Proper home cooked food in the restaurant too.... More

We were originally going to the Mason's Arms in the same village ( as we go to their sister pub often and it is always excellent) but a very large party there meant a long wait for food. We came here instead and we were not disappointed. Nice beer but my wife's white wine was disappointing and too warm (... More

We stayed here 1night. The place was refurbished recently.Staff and guests are very friendly. Room 4 was nice, not too big but with ensuit bathroom. Cleanliness 7/10. Payment is upon arrival. As we had to leave early without breakfast, we were offered lunch pack or discount from dinner. Food was 7/10. Excellent choice for budget 1night stay.

Really lovely place to stay. Room was excellent and extremely comfortable. Hosts were exceptional and very friendly. Shame we could not stay longer but we will return. Breakfast was more than we expected and was very fresh and well presented. Many thanks for a great stay.

After seeing the excellent reviews for this B & B we decided to see for ourselves. When we arrived we found a lovely old pub in a picturesque village with lots of charm. The owner (Carol) showed us to our room which was a barn conversion directly behind the pub. On entering the first door there were then three doors... More

Stopped for lunch at the Lamb and Flag and we were not overwhelmed by the standard of the food on offer. I had salmon, new potatoes and salad which although cooked reasonably well, were just as they were. No dressing on the salad ( and none available...I did ask!) so resorted to a pack of mayonnaise. The new potatoes were... More

We read some reviews on trip advisor, most of which were good but some not so. However I'm glad to say I can highly recommend this place and we would like to return. We had the smallest room, but it was fine for our stay. Both the bedroom and en suite were modern and extremely clean. Bed comfy, room nice... More

Visited with a few local friends and loved it... When I think of an English pub this basically fits the bill. Great selection of beer and awesome craic. Highly recommended, especially if you approach from the cool alley on the side of the place
