Only a few minutes from L'Anse au Meadows. Easy to miss so keep an eye out. The location is awesome. Simply a beautiful view of the sea. Our room was perfectly clean. Bed was comfy as were the pillows. My favorite part was the breakfast. All homemade and the cook was delightful. Her patridgeberry jam was OMG. The front and back deck would need a little TLC and a little bit of weed wacking would be in order just to make it more accessible and cleaner looking. Thanks for having us Gina. We enjoyed our stay. Wishing you and your staff all the best.

We are putting on new decks this fall . Couldn’t do it this spring because of all the snow otherwise would have done it . And couldn’t afford to do it during covid because of lumber price and fact that we didn’t make any money . We are even adding a new deck and foundation to snorri room and Thor is getting a patio door and deck on the side to be able to see the Oceanview! So 4 new decks onto Valhalla this fall ! We usually put 50,000$ Back into renos each year but it’s now nice to catch up!

I have mixed feelings about the Snorri cottage at Valhalla Lodge. Cleanliness deserves a 5. Comfortable bed, spacious and well decorated and quiet cottage are in the high 4s. Location is also a plus with a view of the ocean, close to the L’Anse aux Meadows site and several fine restaurants. Something happened to the cottage after the renovations and the floor of the front porch and, more importantly, the floor at one side of foot of the bed and going to the closet and bathroom is off kilter by what feels like 2-3 inches. This is a very unnerving feeling when moving around in the unit. We booked months ahead of our arrival. I feel we should have been alerted to this problem and given the option to back out. That would have been a more hospitable approach. Also there is far too much vegetation in close proximity to the rear deck blocking the view and attracting flying insects.

Last summer( Fall 2022) we had contractors build two new patios and lift the building to add a new foundation. Building is like new now.

After working our way through Newfoundland’s outport B&Bs for a month Valhalla took our vote as the most interesting by far. It’s a short drive to the L’Anse aux Meadows site and there are a modest choice of places to eat within striking distance. The eclectically decorated accommodation is old and creaky and the plumbing probably pre-dates the Vikings but it was clean, cosy, comfortable and very welcoming. The enjoyable and hearty breakfast was framed by a stunning view out over Gunner’s Cove. Which same outlook could also be taken from a balcony adorned with an ensemble of gigantic whalebones and other miscellanea. Everything at Valhalla Lodge was straining to tell a story including the occasional local character who might drop by if new arrivals were in evidence. The whole experience was like a slice of outport life but it may not be to everybody’s taste. If you are looking for a spoon-fed experience you won’t find it here but you will surely have an interesting and memorable one.

Wow, highly recommend this place! A friend of mine had stayed here previously and said how great it was so when my husband and I decided we were headed to that area, we decided to give it a try! From the time of booking the reservation right until the time we departed, I felt very well taken care of. Gina was very pleasant and extremely helpful with any questions I had for her. Edna, who cooked us amazing breakfasts was so accommodating and lovely.....My husband is still raving about her cooking!
Location is excellent as there is an ocean view from our room as well as the common area. Yes, it was foggy when we arrived, but we learned that if you just wait a little while, the fog lifts and you get the gorgeous view.....and we were lucky to have seen icebergs from our room also!
It is located very close to so many of the things you may want to visit in the area.....we went to L'anse aux Meadows and the Norstead viking village. We also visited the Erik Monument, had a tour at the Dark Tickle Company. We hiked as well as took lovely walks on various beaches exploring. Lots more to do there as well. Also, on our stay every restaurant we went to was delicious, so no problem finding good meals.
Thanks to Edna and Gina, our stay could not have been better! :)

Our stay at Wavey's House was the highlight of our trip to Newfoundland. The secluded setting in a beautiful cove is very special and we could have easily stayed for a week. Even after a few hours, it was easy to feel right at home. The house has everything you need, including a great DVD collection.

Gina is an incredible host and made things easy from check-in to departure. Would also STRONGLY recommend dinner at the Norseman where the food, atmosphere and location are all incredible. If you go, make sure to try the snow crab if its on the menu - you won't regret it!

Wonderful stay at this charming old renovated fisherman’s house directly by the sea. Unbeatable morning view out at the sea. Located conveniently close to L’Anse aux Meadows site. The hosts were very accommodating and helpful. Plenty of space for our family of 5. Nearby Norseman treats you to gourmet foods and wine. We had a great time in the Valhalla!

The Valhalla Lodge is an excellent place to stay while visiting L'Anse Aux Meadows UNESCO World Heritage Site in Newfoundland. The lodge is homey, clean, well decorated and has a great view from the back exterior of the building. Our room was large and nicely furnished. Our terrace also offered the great view behind the lodge.
Breakfast included local ingredients and was very well done. My wife and I felt welcome at all times.

This is a B&B I will be staying in every year. The location is super private and super peaceful. Room is great. Bed very comfortable. Nice size bathroom. Everything is very clean. What I did not expect was a balcony with an awesome view looking out into the North Atlantic. Absolutely nothing to complain about. The hosts are excellent and made it a point to let me know if I needed anything, to let them know. The Northern Peninsula is truly breathtaking and this B&B is the ideal place to stay in.

Our room was cozy and private with the most amazing view from the deck. It was a pleasant surprise and a great spot to sip coffee in the morning (and enjoy a glass of wine at night). Super clean. The pancakes the next day were the best ever!

We stayed in Quoyle's House which is the oldest house in the area and therefore has a very authentic feel. It has been updated to have all the necessary amenities, and is very comfortable and pleasant. It's on a large acreage and is right on the shore. The owners are also very pleasant.
