Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This hotel is in an ideal, picturesque part of the town right next to the river and a short walk from the sea front . We stayed 3 night for a wedding .

We were in a room at the back of hotel with one double and one single bed. There was no view, but room was quiet and very clean . However it was sweltering and quite uncomfortable in the evening there is no Air con just a small electric fan.

Towels provided were pretty small and thin and shower and toilet space is tiny. However beds were comfortable enough and overall the stay did the job and was adequate.

Room Tip: Try and get a room at the back of hotel. Pretty noisy at front.

All our expectation were met, we stayed 2 nights. The staff arranged takeaway snap because we lrft for a tour early. The next day we enjoyed the feeling of a Ierland pub atmosfere.
Next morning breakfast was served by excelent staff
Compliment to the hotel management!!

Nice looking hotel with a good restaurant and bar. We had a delicious Sunday roast and another tasty dinner there and drinks with live entertainment one night. Bar and restaurant staff were friendly and accommodating.
The stay in the hotel didn’t fare that well. Our room (no.27) was big and clean and at first looked perfect. To our dismay it was next to the exhaust pipes from the kitchen so you couldn’t leave the window open due to the noise and smell. With the window closed it was very hot in the room. After checking with the manager there was no other room available at my asking time.
Also the bathroom had not enough hooks and no shelving for toiletries and towels.
We would probably return if offered a different room.

Visited the bridge tavern for an informal family gathering on Saturday last - 25 people booked in advance. They charged €150 on top of our bill for a non descript upstairs room that had no character. The menu at €30/€38 per head for a 2/3 course set meal was acceptable without the surcharge. Service was exceptionally slow - it took almost an hour to get to the main course & complaints were voiced on the day with no response from management. Our party had travelled from the UK, USA, Donegal, Dublin, Waterford & Wexford hoping for a nice relaxed get together. When the food eventually arrived the servers wandered around without direction randomly trying to match the meal with the people who ordered it with no clear direction or method. It was underwhelming to the least. We were looking for a comfortable, welcoming, professional space for our family get together but this experience fell short in every sense of the word. No leadership, no accountability = very dissatisfied customers. On a positive note the location was very lovely.

Arrived for our two nights stay at the bridge tavern. On arrival we were asked to wait as our room wasnt ready. We decided to have a drink in the bar. We both are fully vaccinated however we were never asked to produce our Covid certs. This was the first red flag for us regarding health and safety during Covid. As we waited for our room to be cleaned we noticed that the majority of the staff did not wear face masks correctly or at all. This included the manager who only wore his mask once from what we could see. The lack of standards and practises in combating the transmission and spread of Covid actually scared us. We were booked for dinner on the first night of our stay which was a Saturday night. We were placed at a table that was beside the open double doors and at this time there was adequate spacing between tables. As the night progressed this was not the case. We did not feel comfortable at the amount of people placed around us and next to us. People seemed to flow freely from table to table. Food was satisfactory and staff were friendly although did not wear masks at all times including at our table. The wine glass that was served to us also had lipstick stains around the rim and made us wonder what other cutlery and glasses were not cleaned. We had planned to stay and have drinks and dessert but felt safer taking two drinks back to the room. The room was clean and very spacious. Breakfast in the morning was nice however much of the same disregard for Covid measures. Masks again not worn correctly or at all. On check out the man at reception was not wearing a mask and when went to look for it we pointed out that he had left it on the hand sanitizer bottle at the counter which seemed to be the only bottle of sanitizer in the building. All in all we are shocked and appalled at the standards of the bridge tavern. If we had known this before hand we would have never paid our money to stay there.

Stayed here for two nights . Country music night on Sunday, which was lively, with a lovely crowd, locals and visitors. The room was excellent. Breakfast was excellent, made fresh to order, french toast both morning with lemon scones. We will be back to stay if ever in Wicklow again

We were well looked after at The Bridge Tavern. Our room was clean and comfortable and we had a very good dinner there. The service was excellent. Breakfast wasn't great though. We would have liked to have had a river seat but we sat in the bar with the others who were having breakfast. The scrambled egg and rashers seemed like they had been hanging around for a long time under heat. Overall it was a good experience and I would be happy to stay there again, maybe without the breakfast.

Me, my sister and my cousin ordered really fatty chicken wings. The wings where really overpriced and I feel we overplayed greatly. My dad ordered a sandwich and it was MISERABLE, and it was nine euro!! I went there maybe during the summer of 2020 and the food was great, can’t say the same now.

Never coming back, ever!

There's no parking at the pub, but there's plenty of parking right outside, along both banks of the river. Pay and display during peak times, but it's pretty cheap (less than a euro an hour from memory).
