Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Currently enjoying a return visit. Hosts provide a lovely warm welcome without being 'in your face' - perfect! Located on Arklow's Sea Road, Orchard is near the sea and near town but quiet as it's away from the busiest roads. I think this b & b has to be the cleanest accommodation I have stayed in anywhere - they clearly make a huge effort to maintain standards. Great comfort, lovely food, can't recommend it highly enough.

We enjoyed chatting with our host Pat, a local guitar teacher, and well-informed tour guide. The rooms are bright and quirky, with a nice garden area out back for nice weather. Pat made us feel right at home and had water, tea and kettle ready at all hours. He helped us plot a personalized tour through the Wicklow Mountains to accommodate our interests.

A pleasant surprise was the nice walking trail along the Irish Sea, darting in and out of wetlands, and with a good exercise park nearby. More of a workout than just walking!

The Arklow Hotel is a stone's throw away and is reasonably priced with decent food. We never made it in to town because we had everything we needed so close by!

This is a great base for hiking in Glendalough and the Wicklow Mountains.

On arrival we knew that our overnight stay at this b&b would be different because we interrupted a guitar lesson that owner Pat was giving to one of his many students. We chose this b&b because it looked so nice in the Internet pics, in addition to being located within a bustling seaside town. And we were not disappointed. Following a cosy night´s sleep we were treated to an enormous `Irish´ breakfast, prepared by Pat and visiting son John and served in a cheerful sunny breakfast room. Pat turned out to be an extremely friendly host and very knowledgfeable musically. In all we recommend this b&b unreservedly. The stopover is only an hour or so from Dublin Airport, and for us provided a welcome break after our first Initial experience with Ireland´s M-, N- and E- highways (next time we will accept Budget´s offer of a GPS!)....Aussie John.

Certainly not the best B and B in the world, we found our room to be cold and damp, the breakfast was fine, but otherwise would not return. The room we stayed in could certainly do with some updating and attention to detail.

Thanks to Pad! He runs a nice B&B, which is an excellent startpoint for Sightseeing in Wicklow County. He is an excellent travelguide. He gave me tipps for Wicklow and for my whole trip in Ireland. By the way, the breakfast was excellent and I felt at home in my room. A nice place!!! Thanks to Isabell! She knows why!

This review is about booking the hotel for my elderly parents and not actually a review of the hotel itself. SO, I recently booked 4 nights b&b with 4 evening meals for my 80+ parents. I asked for a room on the ground floor, near reception, with a walk-in shower. The folks rang to say the room was exactly right! The staff are very friendly and on their return they said the food was really good so no complaints at all. This is 'my own experience' of BOOKING the hotel by ringing them directly. Thought it was worth posting their 'attention to the detail'.
