Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a lovely stay in the Whitford House Hotel. The rooms were beautiful. Breakfast lovely. We enjoyed the pool and the atmosphere in the bar was good, although we found the bar menu a little pricy.. Great stay overall..

Hotel's Favourite
HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Stayed 19th-23rd October 2023 As a returning guest to this hotel I can only say what a lovely hotel this is. You can see very clearly that it is a well established well cared for family run hotel. The walls and surrounding area of the very homely foyer are adorned with lots of family photos which is so lovely to see . The big fire sets a very relaxing ambience surrounded by lovely antics, piano and plush furnishings. The bar/bistro interior is very nice again with lovely furnishings. It is so nice to see such long serving staff members here waiting on tables with such great experience and passion. My favourite part has to be the dining room and the most beautiful breakfast cooked fresh and served straight to your table. The staff are extremely pleasant and helpful and the dining room impeccable. I was greeted the first morning with an incredible warm welcome from Eilish who chatted away before seating me for my delightful breakfast. Everything you could possibly want or eat was available. I worked out later from the photos in the foyer that the said lady may be one of the family owners. If so, how nice it was to see her get tucked in just like any other ordinary worker and clean and organise tables with perfection. The bedroom with adjoining patio was spotless and had a lovely scent as did the rest of the hotel throughout. The leisure club was an added bonus but wouldn’t be the best that I have seen. Another added bonus was the music in the bar each evening if my stay which I thoroughly enjoyed . A big thank you also to Cathy on reception who when I called late at 8pm found me accommodation at the last minute after being stranded in Wexford due to unforeseen circumstances . She was exceptional and advised me to come to reception in the morning and speak with the manager who would arrange the rest of my stay. What exceptionally nice and efficient people both her and the manager were. All in all a fantastic stay and I will be back very soon. Thank you Whitford.

It's great to see a well run hotel with old school values and mature experienced staff. It makes such a refreshing change ! It was our first time at the hotel but certainly won't be our last. I'd highly recommend it , especially the food, the bar is worth travelling to for dinner even if you aren't staying onsite

The Hotel delivers a really high quality experience at a reasonable price. The room we had was of a very good and comfortable standard with quality furnishings and bed. What particularly made it enjoyable was a first class traditional service from professional career staff who enjoyed their work and showed a good sense of humour even at a busy time. Food was excellent in the Restaurant.

Amazing hotel on the outskirts of Wexford town. My partner and I spent a wonderful 2 night stay in February and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The staff in the hotel especially were fantastically welcoming and helpful. Also, if massages are your thing, a spa treatment is a must. All in all couldn't fault the whitford.

Just had a quick lunch but had to write a review. I was served by 3 different members of staff and I have to say it was excellent / exceptional. Back to the good old days the food was also home cooked and beautiful. I will be making this my go too when in Wexford
