Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A large, quiet comfortable room conveniently located in the heart of Wexford. Easy to take a taxi from the ferry port to the inn. The pub on the first floor is terrific. Many very welcoming locals and it was a highlight of my visit to Wexford.

On initial arrival I was very impressed great traditional bar and the room above was perfect for my needs really cosy central location comfy bed and fluffy towels. We needed to be up early the next morning by 5.30am for our ferry crossing so Wexford town was perfect for the short drive in the morning. We paid approx £85 for just the room and no breakfast was offered, I did think this to be a little pricey initially with no breakfast. We had an evening drink before our early dinner as we had an early start the next day. THEN the music started in the bar downstairs in the and OMG we heard every word and conversation coming from below the walls were that thin. The music proceeded to midnight, great we thought some sleep finally. THEN a crowd of rude folk returned to their room next door to ours with no care or consideration for anyone else and the noice carried on to 3.30am, screaming, laughing doors banging and running around their room. All in all just 2 hours sleep we had ! Thank you…..

After a daytrip to wexford I decided I was going to stay over. After looking through the booking sites I came across Jim McGee’s guesthouses and decided to book. All I can say is once I arrived, I was more than pleasantly surprised. I booked in through the bar where they have a booking in area toward the back of the pub. The staff were very polite and helpful. I booked a deluxe king as it was the only room left on the booking site I used. Very reasonable price. The room was very large and modern with more facilities you’d expect from a 3 star. Slippers, coffee making facilities, bottled water, a bottle opener, iron, fan, very nice quality shampoo/body wash. Double shower. Face cloths which I don’t ever recall being supplied even in 4 star accommodations I have stayed in. Also a nice touch of mint chocolates on the bedside. I would certainly recommend this place to anyone and I will be revisiting myself. It’s also in the centre so easy access to shops etc. There are approx 15 car parking spaces on a first come first served basis but if it is full, there is a car park 100m away for €4 per day.

Over priced & below standard. Stayed here and on the second night the fire alarm went off at 2 30am stood outside for over 40 mins no staff out to say this was been looked into or dealt with. When we do go back into our room a man bangs on the door saying we had set off the alarm. I was very much startled by this as I don't even smoke, he then realised it was the wrong room. No apology. Next day the housekeeper called with an abrupt rudeness. I would never recommend this place to anyone. I paid €104 per night for 2 nights. My advice book somewhere else

Room was very low-grade and certainly not worth €80 without breakfast! Very clean but low-grade standard. Asked for a refund immediately but was threatened by the landlady who was extremely unpleasant. I asked for a better room and was prepared to pay a bigger price which then increased as we were walking towards it! I recommend you check your room before paying.

Just back from a weekend stay here, could not fault it in anyway. Beds very comfortable, place was spotless, staff in bar were very friendly, we were blessed with such good weather so really enjoyed the beer garden. Very close too all the shops, if any difficulty walking though its very hilly

Great spot. Made very welcome. Accommodation was spotless with great attention to detail. No hassle check in and staff were very helpful and friendly. The pub is a gem - real traditional feel to it. Would redirect stay again. Highly recommended.

Absolutely delighted with our stay here. We were given accommodation at the back of the building in the courtyard. Spotlessly clean and had all of the amenities in the room (iron, ironing board, fan and a hairdryer) Tea and coffee making facilities also. Free slippers and bottled water also included. King size bed was extremely comfortable. Bathroom was spotless, the only thing wrong was the power from the shower it basically dribbled out but was enough to wash in. Made very welcome by all the staff in the pub who looked after myself and my wife.

Loved this accommodation will definitely be back. Unfortunately I only slept in the accommodation as we were at a family gathering and the rest of the family had stayed elsewhere but I can guarantee we will be back to stay and mingle with the locals. The accommodation was a bit away from the town and shops but near enough to walk to. Jim get ready we are coming back. Would recommend the accommodation to everyone.
