Absolutely loved this hotel .. hotel in the sense that it is room only , not a residents late bar , not a buffet breakfast in the morning. The room’s however make up for this , everything you could require for a truly positive stay . Very modern decor and ambient lighting, Ideal for singles or couples wanting a weekend night away as the venue itself has a late bar at weekends, staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful and a credit to management. The only minor downside I felt was that there does not seem to be a 24hr contact number/person on duty to contact in case of emergency, overall however a very pleasant experience, thank you Crown Quarter 😊.
Myself and my friend decided to try the crown quarter accommodation for a 'girlie night away'. Wow we were blown away. The deal we got was super, A 2 course meal and a cocktail was included. The room was absolutely gorgeous and spotless and the bed was so comfortable. Highly recommend.
Stayed here for an girls nights away. Room was lovely, loved the lights. Bathroom a tiny bit small but had a fab shower. There was an air duct/extractor duct outside our window which made noise most of the time, but after a while I didn't even hear it. Bed was very comfortable. We had spent the evening and night in the Crown bar and it was lovely to be able to just go upstairs to bed. Only negatives I have, the price is a little on the high side considering a breakfast isn't an option. Perhaps a small fridge with fruit/yoghurt and cereal would be an idea. A kettle would be great aswell. We used the coffee machine to make our tea in the morning, but the water wasn't very hot. Other than that, we had a great stay.
We were staying at the Crown Quarter for 2 nights during the week. Positives: + The room was nice and modern with a comfy bed and a lovely shower + Everything was very clean + Water dispenser in the hallway + Friendly staff in the bar downstairs + Check-in and check-out was an easy process + The train station, taxi rank and town center with plenty of shops and restaurants are all very close to the hotel Negatives: - The sound! If people are walking/talking in the hallway or using the elevator it is extremely loud in the room, same with people talking on the street below so don't expect a good night's sleep. - Since the hotel website said to expect nightlife until 2 am on the weekends we didn't expect it to be so loud on the street during the week. There was live music in the bar across the road and it was very loud as well. - Because of the colour changing light and the modern feel of the whole place it seems to attract the party crowd so people were listening to loud music until late into the night. Some drunk girls lost their room keys and just sat in the hallway until staff was able to let them in and played music from their phones as well. - Our Netflix/YouTube on our TV did not work so we asked the staff what they could do about it and they just told us to turn it off and on again. Next time we probably wouldn't stay there again but for young people who just want to party and don't care about sleep it's a great spot. …
I really liked the Crown Quarter for a number of reasons. The location for Wexford town. But the rooms are second to none. Well thought out with such comfortable beds and outstanding bathrooms. Michel the manager was extremely helpful also. If back in Wexford town I will definitely stay here again 👍🏼
I stayed with a friend at the Crown Quarter this weekend. The room itself was lovely - really modern decor, comfortable beds, ensuite with q double shower and voya products. You book on a room only basis and you are informed of possible noise levels at the time of booking. This was fine for us as we were having a night out . After the bar closes you hear very little noise and we had no noise disruption the next morning. We had a great sleep in the comfortable beds. We had brunch in Jasper's the next day, it was beautiful and the service was excellent. Highly recommend. The staff in the Crown Quarter are lovely and very helpful. The bar staff are excellent, the door staff are really friendly and good fun and all the waiting staff are lovely. There is a lovely atmosphere in the venue. If you are going to Wexford for a fun night out, this is the place for you!…
Stayed here in July for three nights. I'll start with the positives. There is an extensive bar food mdnu and the waiting staff are really pleasant and efficient. The decor is lovely and the rooms, though very small, had everything we could possibly have needed. Its centrally located and our room had a balcony. Unfortunately that balcony is flanked by the extractor fan from the Indian restaurant so sitting out on it wasn't always pleasant. Staff in the main were pleasant and good craic and as accommodating as possible...shout out to Ryan in the bar and to Adam the night porter. Now to the negatives- the first morning we were woken at 8 am by blaring dance music, men shouting and hammers, drills etc. A quick run downstairs had this quickly addressed by a staff member who claimed the noise was as a result of work in an "adjoining building ". Not so, as the next two mornings had us open the curtains to have work men looking in over the balcony at us or crossing the roof behind us. I also discovered and photographed the work site as being directly under us. So-I spoke to the staff on check out having been woken again that morning but this time at 7 a.m...staff said they know the room is noisy and that it affects all that side of the building and just shrugged shoulders. Not so, as our friends in the room directly above were unaffected. Surely, if this is a known issue it should be advised to guests or the room not rented out. I suggested that but again the shoulders were shrugged and I was asked " what can I do?" So, in short, if you're put in 1005, refuse it. If you complain to staff don't expect them to be honest about it or to care at all as to how your stay was affected. Also don't expect a residents bar or to be allowed to take a drink to your room. We were even refused an empty glass to take to the room on the second night by female bar worker who asked "what now?" Keep all this in mind and it'll be grand!…
Security on door to the bar are horrible. Specifically the bald who I thinks head of security. Experienced blatent discrimination and see others have had the same issue. Me and my partner took our business elsewhere and won't ever be back.
Visiting friends from Dublin and had planned on a night out at this location. Upon arriving at the door we were advised that the location is "Up Market" and they would not be allowing us to enter. The problem being that I was not wearing what they thought was suitable attire (which for men, is apparently a pair of jeans). The Security guards were less than friendly to say the very least, Telling me that I was wearing what they called "Tracksuit Bottoms", but we're in fact a pair of Linen blend Trousers with upturned hem (Not cuffed) bottoms, Along with an over shirt. My friend, who funnily enough was in a pair of cuffed bottoms, which Im my opinion resembled tracksuit bottoms more-so than my attire, was granted entry and asked to see the bar manager outside where I waited. The bar manager was friendly, and agreed that what I was wearing was in fact not tracksuit bottoms, and the only resemblence they seemed to bear to tracksuit bottoms was the fact there was a drawstring (Which many Chinos and Jeans also have). She told me that in her opinion I was more than suitably dressed and that she would speak to security however never returned. At this point I feel it important to note that passer-bys were approaching me at this stage shocked that I was not allowed in based on what I was wearing because in there opinion was actually "very formal for a casual night out with friends". By now we were still waiting for the manager to return, and asked security if she was coming back to speak with us, The security guard at this point got irrate, attempting to offend me by calling me names and slurs and told me he didn't care what she said and in his words "The buck stops with me". He asked then why would I want to go somewhere like this which is clearly not accepting of "The likes of me" to which I calmly replied "good point" and began to leave the location, being laughed at along the way. We attended 3 seperate locations whilst out that night, including a hotel, & at no point an any other location was my attire deemed unsuitable for entry. This is the first time I have ever been refused entry, anywhere and whilst I understand there may be dress codes, I am of the opinion that I fully met that requirement, as did the manager who spoke with us and many many passer-bys who are regulars at this location . The issue seemed to like solely with security. I did make a phone call that night to the location and asked for a manager, which I was advised would be a "few weeks" before they'd contact me. In 2022 it is such a shame that this still happens in places. I would never (& have never) accused a location of being unfriendly to any community of people, but it was made very clear that this was less about attire, more about aesthetic, and "My Kind" don't fit within that. An all round horrific experience.…
A funky delightful room you wouldn’t expect. The room is small but respectable. The decor is great including the lighting. The bathroom is large with a double shower head (not sure how this works till I try it) bed appears comfortable. Coffee machine with Pods provided. Large screened tv. Clothes storage a bit exposed but it opens the room preventing the feeL Of being claustrophobic. A fan, hairdryer and iron included. The only downfall I have. My husband doesn’t drink so I drink in the room. I was given a thimble size wine glass and refused a larger one when requested to bring to my room. Otherwise they would have been rated a 5. They need to be more accommodating at €150 per night without breakfast.
