Clayton Whites Hotel is often celebrated for its inviting atmosphere and modern cleanliness, with a particular shout-out to its well-kept facilities and rooms. The central location comes highly recommended for its convenience to local attractions.
While the hotel boasts commendable amenities like a spa, pool, and a satisfying breakfast, some guests have expressed dissatisfaction with the value, citing high costs and less-than-impressive dining options. Service quality appears to be a toss-up, with accolades for staff friendliness tempered by critiques of occasional service delays and efficiency.

1 nights stay here for a concert in the opera House. Perfect location for this hall just a minutes walk to it. We arrived early and went to the reception room was ready and we were giving the keys quick and in the room within 5 minutes of getting to the hotel. Room very clean we noticed there were no towels in our bathroom so we just asked at reception when we went back down to get a drink in the bar it was taken care of straight away. The bathroom needs updating shower very low pressure and some mould on around the door. Breakfast very good and lits of it would definitely stay again.

Superb. This hotel is located in the centre of Wexford town, within walking distance of shops and restaurants. Park your car in the underground car park (there is a charge) and leave it there for the duration of your stay. Bedrooms are a good size and beds are comfortable. You can have to your room fully serviced, or just have towels changed daily. Breakfast is buffet style with self service coffee from a coffee machine. It was the best cappuccino I've had from a machine. The home made brown bread is excellent too. The hotel caters for bus tours, so be sure to check what time they are due in for breakfast to avoid a long wait. There is a spacious lobby where you can get coffee or bring a drink out from the bar. There is also a courtyard off the dining room and lobby and if the weather is good it's a real suntrap. The bar food was a little disappointing ad we felt overpriced. However there are lot of restaurants to choose from within a five minute walk.

I've been holidaying with my elderly parents at Clayton Whites for the past 10 plus years. The hotel is very well situated in the heart of the town and the shops/restaurants and pubs are all within walking distance. There is also an underground carpark so you can park the car safely for €5/day.
Unfortunately on our most recent stay, we had an unpleasant noise disturbance. We'd had a lovely hour in the Tranquility Spa and checked into our room, which again, we couldn't fault. We noticed that there were a lot of children on the premises for what appeared to be a competition of some kind. That evening, we had a really tasty 3 course meal and retired to our room. For the next 4-5 hours, we were kept up by gangs of children running at speed up and down the corridor, screaming and shouting at the top of their voices and littering the corridors as well as the lifts. The lighting fixtures in our room shook with the force of the running/jumping on the corridor. When I contacted reception to explain the situation and that my elderly mother was unable to sleep, I was told a manager would look into the matter. The noise subsided for about 30 mins after the call to reception, however quickly started up again, this time including the adults, shouting at the children up and down the corridor. I phoned the reception again and explained I had phoned earlier, that we were told a manager would look into it but that the noise was persisting. Again, we were told a manager would be sent up. We heard nothing more from reception after this despite the noise continuing well after 11pm and keeping us awake. Upon check out at reception the following morning, there was no one manning the area, so we had no opportunity to provide feedback, which was disappointing given we had gotten no resolution the night in question.

We visited the hotel Thursday 19th August and unfortunately were extremely disappointed with our experience. We had stayed here before and had looked forward to our return however upon entering our room we discovered a males underwear and shorts left in our room from a previous resident. I feel this is totally unacceptable during Covid circumstances and was an indicator that the room was not cleaned properly to a hygienic standard. There were no cups with the kettle or bottled water left in the room which I was told was due to Covid regulations however this has not been the case in other hotels I have visited this summer. We phoned to reception and asked someone to bring cups up for tea and when they brought water instead they then never returned with cups requested. At breakfast this morning I requested a high chair for my one year old and a completely filthy high chair was presented to me covered in food from the previous child. It then took another 10 minutes for someone to come and clean this. We were really so disappointed in our visit this time and would be less inclined to recommend to others after this visit especially during covid times due to poor overall cleanliness.

Stayed here for the Fleadh. The rooms were fine. The food was just terrible. Worst hotel food I’ve ever had. The staff were mostly unhelpful but we did meet two nice staff members. Most of the staff were very young and inexperienced. Price of a beer was €7.10. Unbelievably overpriced. Could not believe that. The cost of the room was way above normal costs (even for the Fleadh) and it was not value for money.
The talbot hotel at the other side of town had much better reputation from friends that stayed there.

We stayed here for one night in early August as a stop gap between other stays. We wanted somewhere to take it easy and relax for the evening / night and the hotel did the job perfectly.
We had checked in online earlier in the week so we just needed to collect our keycards and ask a question about parking, all very efficient and something I think other hotels should do.
Got to our room and was impressed by the modern (some find this cold but I think it works in this kind of hotel) , clean good sized room. The view was nice looking out over a bit of Wexford and out to sea. The shower and bathroom were very nice and clean also.
One frustration about the room was the plug situation the only plugs by the bedroom were non Ireland plugs so to plug in your phone you needed to use the one on the desk. This is annoying esp if you use your phone to check the time in the night. Loads of hotels seem to do this and its very annoying.
After a walk around Wexford we decided to have dinner in the hotel and sat in the bar area. I had the starter of the seafood chowder which was rich and creamy and full of fish (which wasn't overcooked as the fish in chowders can be). For mains we both had the Chicken with potatoes and gravy which was very tasty and enjoyed by both of us. When we asked for more gravy there was no issue bringing some out which was appreciated.
Finally for desert I had Wexford strawberries and cream which while nice was a bit expensive I felt (it was strawberries, cream and a wafer) for 7 Euro while my partner had Black Forest Gateaux which looked good.
After a good nights sleep (the hotel was very quiet despite being busy) we also had breakfast. Breakfast was well organised with orderly queues for the cereals / cooked breakfast. One callout is my partner asked for poached eggs and they came out pretty solid but not a major issue.
Overall a very nice hotel I would stay at again if in the area.

Sadly we only got to spend one night at this hotel, as we were getting a ferry the next day, but it was an amazing experience, we had a suite which had the most incredible floor to ceiling glazed wall, with fantastic views across the quays and skyline. The room was fabulous, well equipped and very spacious. We used the spa/swimming pool which was included in the room price and very enjoyable. The bar was super, a great vibe and live music on as it was a Friday night. The location is perfect fir the town centre, all shops, bars, restaurants easily accessible within minutes and onsite secure parking at the hotel. As we were leaving early (6.00am), we were provided with a packed breakfast with tea & coffee included, a nice touch and very welcome! We would highly recommend this hotel if staying in Wexford.

Very disappointed with this hotel. Rooms shabby, black-out curtains on windows have holes in them. Room not properly hoovered or dusted. Stayed on 4th floor. Even the main restaurant is in need of tlc and dust visible and leather chairs grubby. Breakfast was cold at 10.30 and its served until 11am. Staff were helpful on requests needed. Will not return here. For what I paid for 2 nights b&b one adult and a child I am very disappointed in its standards. WiFi is hit and miss too

I think we had a complimentary room upgrade as the room was huge, we were on the top floor right at the end so was nice and quiet with a good view of Wexford. We booked on the Treasure Wexford offer so received a mini bottle of fizz in the room, along with a box of chocolate and a 20 euro voucher to use locally within Wexford. they also made us a little dessert plate for our anniversary.
Check in was quick, efficient and friendly.
We called at the bar after we returned from town, it was really busy but everybody appeared to have been served. I waited at the bar quite a while to not even be acknowledged so we just left in the end without a drink.
Bed was huge and comfy. Clean, modern room with everything you would need including water in the fridge.
Breakfast was ok, plenty of choice although they ran out of fried eggs and didn't seem to be replaced. There only seemed to be one lady serving on breakfast. It appears like a lot of places they are affected by the hospitality staffing issues.
We had a lovely stay though and would return.

Cleanliness is not an issue. Plenty of sanitiser available and masks were worn walking in public areas . In general it is a clean hotel and well maintained .
There is no balcony in the bedrooms. As far as I know it's only the bridel suite. You need to contact the hotel about it. A beautiful stay all the same.
Dear Guest,
Thank you for your question. We do not offer a stocked mini bar, however, our executive bedrooms and suites have mini fridges.
We are looking forward to welcoming you at Clayton Whites Hotel.
"Go for breakfast about 0930 as there will be more staff in the restaurant. The bar should be manned by more than one bar person and there should be 2 cash registers"
