Detailed Reviews
We stayed one night (room only option) before catching the ferry and this is a great location, with free parking a couple of minute's drive from the port. Opposite is a supermarket, and a pizza cafe/takeway and there is a barbecue restaurant on site. The bed was comfortable, although the room was a little on the warm side even with the window open, and on the night we stayed the place was quiet so we got a really good night's sleep before an early start. The bathroom was a little tired, but everything was clean. A good budget choice for an overnight ferry stop.

Clean and friendly atmosphere from the minute you walk in the door. Sue and all the staff are pleasant and so accommodating. The rooms are spacious. Restaurant food was lovely. Breakfast is served in the smaller dining room which is cosy. Defo be back, again!

We just needed a bed for the night as we were catching an early morning ferry.
Don’t be put off by first impressions - without the restaurant lights on, the dark tinted windows give an uninviting aspect. However, the reception couldn’t have been warmer and the room was clean and airy. The beds were very comfortable and the en-suite was perfectly acceptable.
Situated a mere .5 mile from the ferry port, this is a good overnight stop at a very reasonable price. We left too early for breakfast (which is not included) so we can’t comment on it. There is plenty of off road parking.

Web pics don’t tell the whole story! Got a crappy room under the roof. The room was hot- couldn’t open window as bed was under it and it was noisy. Needs an update. The stairwell was used as a storage area and breakfast was a huge disappointment. Don’t expect a full-Irish breakfast! Eggs on toast, cereal, yoghurt, tea/coffee, bread & toast and poor orange juice. Not good value! The place felt like a hostel.

We had a very nice welcome to this hotel at front desk when we arrived the night before our ferry crossing to Wales. We can’t fault the customer service, which was friendly and helpful.
However we were disappointed with our room. There were numerous problems, compounded by the fact that our stay cost 89 euro — slightly more than we had paid to stay at a much nicer place in Rosslare a week earlier.
— the room was very, very hot when we arrived because the thermostatic valve on the radiator was set to max. We had to turn it down and open the windows to cool down.
— there were mysterious stains all over the carpet and everything looked very scruffy and run down
— the main double bed in our family room was extremely uncomfortable. My wife said she could feel every spring digging into her and found it impossible to sleep in until she found a thick blanket in the wardrobe and put that down
— there was a seriously bad draught coming from one of the windows, which I noticed in the middle of the night when I woke up freezing. In short I think the radiators had probably been maxed when we arrived because of this.
— the lighting in the room was a mess, when you switch on the main light in the bathroom the light above the bunk beds also comes on and it is BRIGHT, so you would wake up your children. We had to have the little shaving light on in the bathroom instead. Similarly there was no way to have some soft lighting in the room, the switch for the wall uplight also switched on the big spotlight. So it either felt much too dark with just the bedside lights or far too bright.
— the bathroom was clean but very scruffy and rundown.
Pros: proximity to the harbour (a couple of minutes’ drive). Plenty of parking (although I don’t know how busy they were). Also the shower was powerful and there was plenty of hot water. Our three-year-old son liked the old wooden bunk beds.
Overall we were not comfortable and felt it was terrible value for money but there was little point in complaining at the time as we needed somewhere to stay and had to get our children settled for the night. We would not book a stay here again and would prefer to be a bit further away from the port to have a bit more comfort.

We stayed one night either side of our trip to County Clare this week. We have stayed here a number of times over the years. With my son and grandchildren, with my parents, with my mother in law who needed a disabled ground floor room. Each time we have had a warm welcome, a lovely breakfast. Our breakfast was €12, as we only wanted a full breakfast without cereals etc. Ferryport House is so convenient for the ferry, a 2 minute drive. Ample free off-road parking and free WiFi. 2 great pubs a 10 minute walk for dinner. We enjoy walking along the cliff path looking down on the beach and ferry port.
We noticed this time that there has been some redecorating going on, the rooms felt brighter, the towels looked new, the beds are very comfortable, along with the pillows. Nothing was too much trouble for Sue. We appreciated everything and will, hopefully, be back next year for our trip to County Clare. Thank you.

We spent 3 weeks touring around the island of Ireland both sides of the border. The hotel was our first hotel which we arrived at following a 2-minute drive from the ferry port for our 3 night stay. The hotel has plenty of car parking space outside the building. On the day of our arrival, we were checked in by a friendly helpful lady giving us plenty of information. There is an independent restaurant within the hotel (although not open every night) where we enjoyed our first evening meal of our stay although there are a couple pubs less than a mile away serving meals. During our stay we had daytrips to Waterford and Wexford also visiting the historic Hook Head Lighthouse. We enjoyed a good breakfast each morning. Our room was comfortable but no lift so needed to use stairs to access first floor room. The room was quite noisy at times and not very well sound proofed against internal sounds.

I normally don't write reviews, but Peg from reception was so friendly and helpful that she deserves a special mention. More than your standard 'Welcome, have a nice stay.' People and places like this make me feel at home straight away.

Stayed 2 nights with my partner, Our room was on the top floor, 3 flights of stairs to climb, and for someone with any disability not good, We did ask but there were no other rooms available, Room tired needs re vamped, Towels were old and frayed in bathroom, Walls are paper thin so you hear everything. Asked the next morning if we could be moved and were told they would check, We went out for breakfast as it says.. 12 Euro on site but is actually 15, According to reception they rang me twice but I had no missed calls. On return we had been moved to ground floor. My night ware had disappeared, so went to reception no one was there Rang the bell for someone but very poorly staffed. On the up side the beds are comfortable

Its less than a 5 minute drive, but if you are walking, it would probably be a good quarter of an hour to get to check in, especially if you have luggage to carry. And you have to remember the Irish weather…it’s not a green and pleasant land for nothing!
I cannot honestly say when the rooms was last renovated, but, it looks like that they are a little dated. But, to that they are still comfortable.
I would not have thought so, guide dogs maybe
No I don’t think so.
