Detailed Reviews
This was my second time staying here with my Dad. We were once again greeted by the very friendly Nicola upon arrival.
We had a room downstairs which was nice and spacious. Our beds were extremely comfortable and we had lovely clean bedding and plenty of pillows.
Although we didn’t need to use the shower, we had plenty of towels and toiletries (not toothpaste) were provided. The room and bathroom were absolutely spotless. There was an iron and ironing board available in the room, it didn’t take up much space so the bedroom did not feel cluttered.
Our TV had Freeview (I think) which was more than enough for us to enjoy some screen time before going to sleep.
My Dad has somewhat reduced mobility and this Guesthouse was perfect. There are 3 steps (not steep) into the property but it is completely flat when inside, if you are staying in a downstairs bedroom.
While breakfast isn’t ‘served’, there are plenty of pastries and dried cereals available. Tea and Capri Sun style orange is available in the rooms along with some biscuits and brioche style buns. There are also tea/coffee making facilities in the communal area. While we didn’t use the sitting room, it was spacious should others wish to use it at the same time.
The guesthouse is about a 2 minute drive from Culletons Bar where we had a lovely dinner so it is ideally situated. I definitely recommend stopping here for food!
Less than a 5 minute drive to the port which is very handy as it cuts down the hanging around time.

Dear Nashy McFee Wow! Thank you so very much for taking time out to leave such a detailed and wonderful review! We really appreciate the time and effort which was taken in doing so. Our guest's comfort is our main motivation, especially after the recent events in all of our lives. We are also very aware that our standards have to be consistently maintained to function with the ever changing ebbs and flows of which life brings. We are so glad that you appreciated our new breakfast buffet, it seems to have proved to be a hit with the weary travellers that stay at Padua We hope to see you both when you are back 'in town' again Sending our very best to you and your dad From Padua The Sunny South East - Rosslare, Ireland

Recently stayed at the Padua and from my initial booking the customer service was excellent, I was greeted at the door by Nicola the owner and guided to my room, Nicola was very informative and gave me great information of where all the local food, bars and supermarkets were. Unfortunately I was only there for 24hours but have booked a return visit with Padua. If you want comfort, chic and perfectly placed then I couldn’t recommend this gem of a guest house anymore. The room was spacious clean with a super comfy bed. I have never seen so much choice with a continental breakfast and the owners could not have made me feel anymore welcome than they did! To Nicola and Rich you were super hosts, thank you for looking after me so well

Lovely Padua guest house, very friendly and helpful host. Room clean and spacious and great location for ferry terminal (5 mins away by car). Breakfast idea is great where guests are shown where all breakfast items are and help yourself, plentiful, fresh and lovely. Only reason i haven't given 5 stars is the location, being set back from a busy road but a good 15 min walk to the nearest pub where i would def recommend getting taxi back from because road very busy and unlit.

Very well kept B and B, 5 minutes from the harbour. Beautifully kept rooms and public areas. Very welcoming host. Note the host is very helpful to coeliacs or those with other intolerance as she also suffers same. I was very impressed. This will be our first choice in future for our frequent ferry crossings to the UK.

Hi there David Many Thanks for taking the time to share a very informative and generous review. Our guest's comfort is our main motivation at Padua. We appreciate that it can be difficult travelling with food intolerances and try to be as flexible as possible. We chose Padua because it was right near the ferry, not expecting too much, but we were very pleasantly surprised. We were warmly welcomed, the facilities were super clean and the continental breakfast options extensive. As a family of four we had two connecting rooms with two TVs and an en suite. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of hot water. We wouldn't hesitate to make this a base for longer if we were exploring the area.

We were emailed a code to get the key to our room which worked fine and we enjoyed the sight of chickens on the lawn and picnic tables. The bedroom smelled bad, possibly due to the carpet- it was otherwise clean.
The kitchen facilities were welcome but lacked a sink which compromised cleaning.

We stopped here over night as we were catching the morning ferry from Rosslare the next day. It was a great choice, the room was lovely and clean with tea/coffee and biscuits in the room. good ensuite facilities with nice towels etc. This is a well organised home and we were very pleased to have chosen it. Many Thanks.

What a B&B should be. Clean well decorated and a charming owner, Nicola. Comfy bed TV Wi Fi and a call for an early breakfast to get the morning ferry. Outstanding cooked breakfast (cereals yogurt prunes etc available) with no beans. Interesting all at a very reasonable price. Overnight stay before catching the morning ferry? look no further than Padua.

We stayed at Padua for six days before moving on to Dublin for a couple of nights.
Richard and Nicky made us feel welcome from the moment we pulled up in the drive.
We were given a lovely room, overlooking the front lawns, with a double bed, satellite TV, tea and coffee facilities and an en-suite shower room. All very clean and charming.
Every morning we came down the stairs to find a fantastic breakfast layout waiting for us.
Proper, fresh, orange juice. Fresh fruit salad. Different breads including Irish soda bread and toast.
A full Irish breakfast was available but we could only manage on our first and last mornings. It was huge!
We can recommend the Irish marmalade on toast.
There is a sitting room available for those who have the time to chill out before bed time. "Chill" is probably the wrong word as they have a lovely log burner in the room keeping it very snug.
We will be staying at Padua the next time we are in the south of Ireland and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone who is catching the local ferry or staying for a bit longer.
We wish this couple every success in there new venture and look forward to seeing the refurbished property on our holiday there this year.
