Coast Rosslare Strand hotel enjoys a prime beachfront spot that families love, yet some guests suggest the location could benefit from a refresh. While the atmosphere is occasionally praised for its pleasantness and attentive staff, the call for modernized decor is echoed by many. Cleanliness generally meets expectations, but travelers point out the rooms and bathrooms are ripe for an upgrade. Despite these criticisms, the hotel is frequently applauded for its value. Even though the amenities and service receive mixed reviews, with a nod to the need for a spruce up, the staff's friendliness is consistently commended.

The hotel staff are very nice, they just could not do more for you.

The lady in reception ( Simmie ) was super helpful and professional when we had a problem with the room. The prices are reasonable.

Bathrooms need updating/ upgrading very badly, carpets are dirty and stained, the horrible smell that comes from the bathroom's plumbing system kept me awake all night. Rooms are not cleaned properly- our bathroom had hair and carpet was not hoovered when we checked in.

The bistro food is reasonably priced, I ordered fish and chips but could not eat the fish- it was terrible. Pizza, breakfast and sandwiches were nice, deserts were tasty too. Bar and lobby areas are very pleasant.

I would really give 5 stars to the customer service and staff at the hotel. For the prices we have paid I suppose it was ok, just need to improve cleanliness of the room/ bathrooms and upgrade bathrooms and carpets.

First of all having discussed the distance from the train station no one advised us there were no taxis available so my partner, who has a walking stick, and i had to drag a case to the hotel. It took 25 mins to get there. Having said that the rooms are of a good size with comfortable beds. In the morning we were left standing for 15 mins to enter for breakfast despite the diningroom being nearly empty and despite having booked a time to eat. To me the only sign of covid measures were in the bar as we were advised about the 105 minutes to eat and drink. No one around the hotel, except staff, wore masks and there was even a group of older ladies sitting in the foyer at one stage with no social distancing and no masks. Seems a bit hit and miss to me. Also we were very confined as no taxis available anywhere, wouldn't rush back

Before arriving at the hotel I looked at the recent (July 21) reviews and they were all bad. It was really concerning but I can honestly say that our stay was nothing like the bad experience that the previous reviewers made out. Yes, there was a stain on the carpet and yes the bathroom did need a bit of TLC but these are things that the management needs to sort out asap.
But as far as the welcome from reception through to the restaurant and bar staff was concerned they more than made up for the downside. They were all very helpful, cheerful and efficient.
The bedding was perfectly clean and the towels white and fluffy - and by the way we had no trouble with taking a hot shower.
The room itself was large and there was not a hint of any musty smell.
We ate in the restaurant and the food could not be faulted. A daily specials which on this occasion was pan cooked hake served with vegetables and mash - although we opted for the chips. The hake was done to a tee.
We were also lucky with the weather so we enjoyed several hours in the outside area which is very popular with visitors.
On the day of check out our return ferry was in the evening but the hotel allowed us to keep our room until 1 p.m. which, considering that they were fully booked was very welcome.
All in all we really enjoyed our stay at the Coat Rosslare Strand and the odd bad review should not put people off. If our stay was anything to go by guests will be pleasantly surprised and made to be very welcome by the staff.

Decided to book this Hotel for a short break having already stopped here for lunch back in August, Staff very pleasant and helpful on both visits, and full compliance with all the COVID19 recommendations gave us the confidence to organise a weekend break in a safe environment, Rooms fully sanitised and clean, and clear guidelines given to us when booking, Reservations required for Dinner and Breakfast to ensure social distancing. We had Dinner in the Bar on our first night, food excellent and professional service. Breakfast buffet not possible at this time, but a very helpful waitress showed us to our table and took and order for the items on display which included a very good fruit salad prepared fresh every morning. The Full Irish Breakfast is very good and kept us going for most of the day. First Class Hotel, good prices and service, only reservation is the grey colour scheme throughout the building, but that is a matter of choice, and would not deter me from staying here again very soon as they offer Golf deals on the famous Rosslare Golf links just across the road.

Nothing to do around the location, not suitable for couples and family's unless going in the summer with a family then you can go to the beach. The hotel is average theres no pool or gym available which would be ideal for this hotel as the location is not great for activities. Stayed for two nights because it was a xmas gift. Main course was big but the dessert's are not great. Bar closed early and no sight of a takeaway or shop close by at walking distance if you do get hungry during the night. Bar charged almost 6 euro for a blue wkd should only cost 4-5 euro max. Expensive breakfast and dining. Will not be back as there was nothing great about it. Very bored stuck in with nothing at walking distance to go and do as it was raining outside. Staff are nice but the hotel itself is only for people traveling and needing a place to stay.

We stopped here overnight prior to leaving for the UK by ferry, the hotel was just a 10 minute drive from the ferry port so convenient. We'd booked via Trip Advisor and weren't disappointed. We were given a warm welcome by the receptionist, how could not have been more helpful and were quickly checked in and directed to our room. The room was very well appointed with a comfortable king size bed, walk in shower and coffee/team amenities. Dinner was had in the dining room, the food was excellent, freshly prepared and the service could not be faulted.
We had breakfast the following morning and again the food was excellent. On checkout as there was some doubt that our ferry would operate on time we were told that we could come back and stay longer in the room if needed.
This was our first time staying at the coast, we will definitely use it again when we pass by and would recommend it.

Went here yesterday evening for dinner after reading the menu online thought it sounded great and with it only being down the road we said we would give it a try.

When we got there it was around quarter past 8 so it was not overly busy. We sat down and had to get our own menus. The menus we got were not the same ones as what is advertised online, very little choice on them compared to online.

I ordered the steak and my partner ordered the pasta. We waited about 50 minutes for our main which was then brought to another table and then finally to ours. When we eventually got it mine was ok, steak quite dry and onion rings were frozen ones you buy in a supermarket. My partners pasta was horrific it was swimming in watery sauce with little to no taste with half a piece of garlic bread.

I had ordered garlic butter with my steak which didn't come had to ask again for it, when the girl came back after 15 minutes with the garlic butter I was half way through my dinner. I tried to get her attention but she literally dropped it on the table and walked off, we then had to get the attention of another girl to ask for our drinks again as they still had not come.

No one ever came to ask us was everything ok not even when clearing the table. When my partner went to pay there was an extra charge for an americano on the bill which we had not ordered. My partner pointed this out to the bar man which he then said yeah I will take it off the bill. We asked for a receipt after we had paid which showed us we had paid for the Americano even after we had pointed out we did not have it. My partner then went back up and told the bar man he had still been charged and he said he would have to get the manager to void the transaction as we had paid by card. The manager then just told him to 'just give them the money out of the till' and walked off. There was no apology about the overcharge or even to ask us did we enjoy out meal.

It is very clear to see that there has been no training given to staff and they were all very young probably around 17/18 for all staff serving us. When the staff is that young and inexperienced there needs to be a presence of management to ensure smooth running of the bar, which was not the case.

Please take more time and care when training your staff and also your management could do with customer service training. I'm sorry to say but we wont be back.

After checking in on Friday evening we found the room had a very musty smell even though the windows were open; the smell never went away for the duration of our stay ; the room decor is all a very dull grey , there was absolutely no hot water ; we were assured that in a short time it would be hot; 4 hours later it was still cold & the following morning & afternoon it was still cold. The bath was old & very dirty looking. The restaurant has a very limited menu of bar food only, I ordered a burger; it was truly awful, there was no choice of fresh veggies, mushy peas was the only veg they could offer. We would have checked out then but discovered they already had debited our card the full amount for the stay. The following morning we were surprised to have a very nice breakfast in a nice dining room so my guess is that the Bar may possibly be run separately & it’s letting the hotel down badly!!! The staff do their best & are very pleasant. Honestly I could not recommend this hotel . The price of €438 for 2 nights B&B is very expensive especially when there are no facilities at all !

Very pleasant staff throughout the hotel. Stayed for breakfast which was good. We were unable to book a standard room as none were available so had to avail of a superior room at the cost of 185 Euro.

On entering the room, it smelt of stale urine, even though the windows were wide open. The room falls below standard for a basic room, let alone a superior one.
Tiles cemented together in the bathroom. Stain on the bathmat. Mould around the bath. Peeling paint on furniture doors and bathroom, swinging sink tap etc. In a superior room you would usually find extras, such as, separate shampoo and conditioner, in addition to the wall accessories provided. We were given a face cloth, towels and two shower caps.
