As we knew we would have a long drive to our holiday destination so we decided to stay the night here after arriving on the ferry from Fishguard. Conveniently situated, quiet, spotless, overlooking the sea, lovely garden, good breakfast and welcoming hosts. What more do you want. We would use this b and b again.
Exceptional bed and breakfast by any measure. Location out of this world, right by the sea. Beautiful gardens and areas to sit outside and enjoy the sea views. Margaret is a lovely host and breakfast with home made brown bread and jams, fresh fruit and full Irish was great. We stayed in the suite with fabulous sea views. We will definitively return.
Directly on an official coastal trail it was perfect for a quick run & morning dip in the Irish Sea before showering & settling in front of a delicious vegetarian breakfast each day. Margaret & Micheál are super hosts. Thank you both for creating this space. You will feel right at home when you stay here. If you are lucky to stay here during some sunny weather you will not want to leave. Of all of the countries I have visited and all of the types of accomodation I have stayed in - this is the nicest place I have ever stayed. Looking forward to returning at least once more this summer.
We were looking for a B&B close to the sea and couldn't have asked for better than this. Margaret is such a great host. Breakfast was lovely and the kids loved the garden. The house overlooks the harbour & is a short walk from the beach. There is a playground close by too so perfect for a young family.
If you’re looking for a BnB that has a touch of class, has character and is very covid compliant, then look no further. From the moment we arrived, Margaret was the perfect host. She even dropped us to our dinner booking when we realised we had left it a little late to be setting off on foot! We only really took in our rooms when we got back that night. They were spotless, with comfy beds, and tea-making facilities available. Set right beside a gorgeous cliff walk, the views from the garden area are gorgeous, and you have your own gateway onto the walk. We sat out and chatted late into the night as Tuskar Lighthouse blinked in the distance. We also did the cliff walk before breakfast the next day, in glorious sunshine - a lovely way to start the day. Breakfast was great, and included delicious homemade brown bread from Margaret. All I can say by way of recommendation is that we loved our stay there and if I get a chance I’ll return! Five star stay!…
We visited Clifford House en route to the ferry for Wales. We were welcomed by Margaret who provided helpful advice on the Covid 19 restrictions and that made us feel very safe. The room was immaculate and had everything we needed or wanted. Breakfast was outstanding. The grounds of the house are splendid and we could see our ferry from the garden.
Have stopped at the Clifford a good few times now and have to say we always get a very warm welcome from Margaret her breakfast is second to none everything is spotless and would thoroughly recommend to anyone. Thank you
Just had 4 wonderful nights at Clifford House B&B in Rosslare. From the moment we arrived we were so well looked after from the lovely cuppa and home baking. Margaret and Michael are fantastic hosts. The views are absolutely stunning and the gardens are meticulous with all the different variety of birds and lovely furniture to sit around taking in the beautiful ocean views. The breakfast options were great with everything you could possibly want. Tea, coffee and treats in our room every day was such a wonderful treat after a day out. We will definitely be back. Thank you again. Louise, Noel, Adam and Luke Kane, Co. Meath. 💕
Myself and my Partner & our Dog Molly stayed for 4 most enjoyable nights. Margaret was so welcoming and a lovely lady, nothing was too much bother for he, all you had to do was ask. Our room was so comfortable with fantastic ocean views. Breakfast was excellent, the local amenities are all within walking distance. I have to say we are so looking forward to returning again soon. Also our Dog loved every minute of our weekend, beautiful hill & coastal walks. I would highly recommend a visit to this excellent establishment. Owen Walsh
My partner and I had booked to stay at Clifford House B&B in mid-December as a birthday treat to myself, leading up to a busy Christmas. I had booked a ferry to take us from Wales to Ireland, and then booked to stay here whilst in Ireland. Unfortunately due to the severe wind and rain, my ferry was cancelled a few days before my hotel booking, and there were no alternative routes available, therefore I could no longer make it to Ireland, nor to my booking at Clifford House B&B. I notified the B&B immediately of the ferry cancellation, providing proof of my communication with the ferry company, as well as information that there were no further sailings able to bring me to Ireland or to my booking and politely requested a refund. The B&B refused to refund me for my booking, and even suggested that I was being untruthful, stating that they were able to book ferry tickets online and therefore mine "could not have been cancelled". They instead suggested I find an alternative way to get to Ireland, which obviously was impossible as I am unable to sprout wings or gills, and I had already informed them of the cancelled sailings across the weekend. The hotel then proceeded to ignore me, and kept my money. Selfish, greedy, inhuman behaviour - Merely weeks before Christmas, and over my birthday. The B&B makes thousands annually, but decided to keep my money regardless, choosing to hide behind terms and conditions instead of simply being decent and understanding. A few other reviews have mentioned that the owner is cold and heartless, leaving others stranded outside in the rain, etc. This confirms that fact - Don't expect any help or sympathy if anything goes wrong, or unless you're supposedly willing to bribe them, as it appears that their favourite language is money.…
