Clifford House was built in 1898 as a Victorian summer house set in beautiful landscaped gardens overlooking the Irish sea.. The house is family run and has a lovely relaxed ambiance as you arrive. It has undergone extensive refurbishment to an exceptionally high standard. . The owners Michéal and Margaret have sympathetically combined the traditional old-world style of the house with the very latest in quality and design, providing guests with a unique blend of comfort and style in one of the most beautiful corners of South East Ireland.

Needed to book at very short notice for an overnight. Margaret could not have been more helpful and accommodating, she instantly made us feel at home.
The place was spotless, warm and well appointed. The breakfast was lovely. We would recommend Clifford House and would like to visit again for a longer stay.

If you’re looking for a BnB that has a touch of class, has character and is very covid compliant, then look no further. From the moment we arrived, Margaret was the perfect host. She even dropped us to our dinner booking when we realised we had left it a little late to be setting off on foot!

We only really took in our rooms when we got back that night. They were spotless, with comfy beds, and tea-making facilities available.

Set right beside a gorgeous cliff walk, the views from the garden area are gorgeous, and you have your own gateway onto the walk.

We sat out and chatted late into the night as Tuskar Lighthouse blinked in the distance. We also did the cliff walk before breakfast the next day, in glorious sunshine - a lovely way to start the day.

Breakfast was great, and included delicious homemade brown bread from Margaret. All I can say by way of recommendation is that we loved our stay there and if I get a chance I’ll return! Five star stay!

As we knew we would have a long drive to our holiday destination so we decided to stay the night here after arriving on the ferry from Fishguard. Conveniently situated, quiet, spotless, overlooking the sea, lovely garden, good breakfast and welcoming hosts. What more do you want. We would use this b and b again.

Just had 4 wonderful nights at Clifford House B&B in Rosslare. From the moment we arrived we were so well looked after from the lovely cuppa and home baking. Margaret and Michael are fantastic hosts. The views are absolutely stunning and the gardens are meticulous with all the different variety of birds and lovely furniture to sit around taking in the beautiful ocean views. The breakfast options were great with everything you could possibly want. Tea, coffee and treats in our room every day was such a wonderful treat after a day out. We will definitely be back. Thank you again. Louise, Noel, Adam and Luke Kane, Co. Meath. 💕

We wanted somewhere in Ireland simple to get to without a car (direct train from Dublin), was in a smallish village, and was on the sea. And we found the ideal HAH (Home Away from Home): the Clifford House in Rosslare Harbour (where the ferries head off tothe UK France, Spain...). Short walk from the train, at the end of the village, with the stunning cliff walk high above the beach. PERFECT!. Beautiful plants and garden. Lovely public rooms. Good beds, TV, private bathroom, clean, friendly bedrooms. (They also have a family room available and a self-catering cottage next door). SUPER breakfast. the owners, Margaret and Michael, are lovely - friendly and very helpful.

Exceptional bed and breakfast by any measure.
Location out of this world, right by the sea. Beautiful gardens and areas to sit outside and enjoy the sea views.
Margaret is a lovely host and breakfast with home made brown bread and jams, fresh fruit and full Irish was great.
We stayed in the suite with fabulous sea views.
We will definitively return.

Myself and my Partner & our Dog Molly stayed for 4 most enjoyable nights. Margaret was so welcoming and a lovely lady, nothing was too much bother for he, all you had to do was ask. Our room was so comfortable with fantastic ocean views. Breakfast was excellent, the local amenities are all within walking distance. I have to say we are so looking forward to returning again soon. Also our Dog loved every minute of our weekend, beautiful hill & coastal walks. I would highly recommend a visit to this excellent establishment.

We were looking for a B&B close to the sea and couldn't have asked for better than this. Margaret is such a great host. Breakfast was lovely and the kids loved the garden. The house overlooks the harbour & is a short walk from the beach. There is a playground close by too so perfect for a young family.

Stayed here for an overnight with my partner. The property itself is gorgeous, really tastefully decorated and has that holiday home feel to it, overlooking the sea. The grounds are blissful and the sandy beaches are just below, should you fancy a stroll. The room we stayed in, while quite basic, was cosy, clean and comfortable. My other half mentioned to me that she found the hostess to be quite rude or even suspicious(!) and I have to say I got that feeling too. There was no "how was your drive down here'' or any small talk of that nature, just not very welcoming despite the reviews that I've read online. It was for this reason that we opted to check out early and to give breakfast a miss, which was shame.

In short, the location and property was excellent but the customer service left a lot to be desired.

Some B&Bs have great locations, some are wonderful properties and some offer great hospitality. Clifford House has it all including a great full Irish breakfast in a breakfast room with breath taking views.
From the moment we arrived we knew that this was not a normal B&B, the gardens and various pieces of sculpture carefully placed gave an indication of what was to come. We received a warm welcome from Margaret, tea, homemade banana cake and homemade biscuits soon followed. The lounge overlooks the cliffs and sea with Tuskar Rock lighthouse clearly viable on the horizon. A telescope is provided for closer views of the rock and the various birds on the cliffs and beach below. The house is beautifully decorated with many interesting pictures and a photo history of the development of Clifford House.
Margaret told us that as we were staying for three nights we had been given the suite at no extra costs. The room was excellent with furnishing and decorations to a very high standard. The views out to sea and along the cliffs were stunning.
Being so close to Rosslare ferry terminal I can imagine that most guests use Clifford House as a stopover either before or after a ferry crossing. Those that do miss out on a wealth of places to visit. The totally unspoilt beaches nearby, the Harbour at Carna, Lady`s Island lake, Kilmore Quay, Johnstown Castle, Tacumshin Windmill, St Helens beach, golf course and many more places within a very short drive or a longer walk along the cliff top and beach paths that are adjacent to the house. The bustling historic town of Wexford with its many places to eat is about a twenty minute drive. Wexford is an old Viking Town and well worth a visit.
In short Clifford House is an outstanding place to stay. It’s not like staying at a B&B it’s more like being a house guest of a friend. It ticks all the boxes. It is an ideal base to explore parts of County Wexford that most people miss as they speed away from the ferries. Great for walkers and birdwatchers. Highly recommended.

Dear Ms Appleby, When you come off the ferry you will come up a hill out of the Port. You will see the Harbour View Hotel on the left and next a filling station. About 50 yards after the filling station take a sharp left turn, the church will be now on your right. follow this road through the village for about 900 yards and we are on the left side. you will see the sign for Clifford House. Looking forward to welcoming you to clifford House. regards Margaret
