Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed at McMurrough farm hostel recently after a long and busy day's travelling and researching for a project. It was our 2nd time to stay here and it's a truely wonderful experience! The hostel comprises a series of small cottages with ensuite double/family rooms. These lead from a common-room kitchen styled like a typical farm cottage kitchen. We stayed in one of those last time and loved it. This time we stayed in a gite style cottage with stone-walled interior. It's a large room with the most comfy, cosy bed at one end and a sitting room with a stove (and a piano!) at the other. Leaving this room you enter a bright airey, fully equipped kitchen looking out on to a field of barley stretching as far as the eye can see. The gite also has its own bathroom. It's simply one of the most comfortable and congenial hostels we've ever stayed in. We can't recommend it highly enough. Thank you Brian and Jenny for your warm and relaxed hospitality. We're looking forward to staying in your hostel again soon!

MacMurrough Farm Hostel is located outside the town of New Ross. It's not completely straightforward to get there, as it is at the end of a lane, but the signposting is quite clear and the owners are always available to help stranded customers.

This hostel is very popular with backpackers, families, and budget travellers in general.

There are two separate buildings, each with 2 or 3 bedrooms, some en-suite and with a varying number of beds. Each of the buildings has a kitchen shared among the guests.

The bedrooms are clean and the beds firm and confortable. Although quiet and secluded, it is likely that you will make friends with the other guests - mostly young people and families - or at least with the dog and the cat!

Note that this is not a B&B so bring your own supplies for breakfast.

If you ask, you can connect to the Internet via Wi-Fi for free
