Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I stayed in the Glenbarry b and b on Thursday 2nd January for 1 night. The couple Ger and Margaret were very friendly and hospitable and made me feel at ease. They could not have been more accommodating. I told them that I was a vegetarian and the next morning they had a lovely variety of cereals, yoghurt and fresh juices. They also cooked me a hot breakfast and I had a pot of tea and toast.

The room was cosy and warm and had a tv and beverage facilities in the room. They also left me a bottle of ballygowan as a gesture.

This is about the 4th time I have stayed here since 2019 and when down here again I will always check their availability first. The price is also extremely reasonable and I would highly recommend this place to any travellers for a stop off place.

A beautifully set accommodation, impeccably clean, with a superb breakfast, we would certainly recommend Glenbarry BxB to all potential visitors to New Ross. The owners epitomise the hospitality of the Irish. We would certainly re-visit when we return to Co Wexford.

This is a beautiful house, spotlessly clean and in a perfect location. Margaret and Ger are very welcoming, nothing was too much trouble (even a late-night request for tea and toast). We were a party of 6 anglers, our flasks were filled every morning. The rooms are extremely comfortable, well equipped and well presented. The breakfasts are immense and expertly cooked. The views from the rear patio are breathtaking. I will be back for sure.

Our reservation was confirmed before we traveled. While in Ireland just days before we were scheduled to check in we received an email stating that they could no longer honor our reservation. Instead of cancelling the reservation on their end they wanted us to cancel which looks bad on us instead of taking the hit on their booking account and admitting they made a mistake. An email telling us we need to cancel (for their mistake) the day before we get financially penalized and leaving us without a hotel room is unacceptable. She also threatened to put us down as a no show if we didn't cancel, once again the problem was they overbooked, not that we couldn't make our reservation. Poor customer service.
This was from her email ("Yes I can put on a no show on your part but this would not be nice reflection then on you.")

We were down in New Ross for the Pipe Band Championships. We stayed two nights in Glenbarry B and B. Margaret and Ger were warm and welcoming hosts...gave good advice about places to eat out...provided a superb breakfast that set us up for the day served with a view youd never tire of! The guesthouse was clean and very comfortable and all for a very reasonable price. We know where our first port of call will be when the All Ireland Pipe Band Championships is in New Ross again!

Our hosts were very attentive. Situated on a hill, there is a great view from the dining area, with distant views of the river. Easy walking distance from restaurants in New Ross. We had a comfortable room and there was a nice outside seating area. Also, a good sized lounge area to relax in. Breakfast was very nice. A minor point is that the en-suite could benefit from an upgrade.

I haven’t stayed in a B&B in about ten years and I was soo pleasantly surprised! We had room no.4 Double with En-suite.
Fabulous views!! Our room was decorated so nicely it was spotless & comfortable!
The Power Shower was amazing!
Ger & Margaret are exceptional the loveliest people who have given this their heart and soul! It’s a great location to walk into the Town and the lovely boardwalk.

Mannions Bar a few mins walk away is gorgeous for dinner.

Breakfast each morning was gorgeous and overlooking such beautiful views!
Book here if your looking to stay anywhere in the area. We had a visit to Hook Lighthouse & Loftus hall only half hour drive away.

I stayed here with 4 others we arrived very late notice as we had to leave our initial accommodation due to uncleanliness. We received a warm welcome from Ger and Mags on arrival. The room was extremely clean and Mags put in an extra bed to accommodate at such short notice. It is a short walk to the town centre. The breakfast was delicious in the morning with beautiful views. Would definitely recommend.
