The Brandon House Hotel garners compliments for its spotless rooms and facilities, with guests often noting the cleanliness. The service also stands out, with staff members receiving kudos for their friendliness and professionalism, despite occasional service hiccups. While some guests find the hotel's food and drinks to be overpriced, the comfortable and stylish rooms seem to offer a redeeming quality.
The hotel's atmosphere is regularly described as lively, with enjoyable live music and a family-friendly environment, though it's not without its critiques. Amenities like the excellent breakfast and leisure facilities are popular among guests, even as some suggest room for enhancement.

Detailed Reviews
Stayed in the Brandon House Hotel on a three night offer and would highly recommend it. It hotel is very covid aware and there is constant cleaning evident going on at all times! All staff very friendly, welcoming and professional. We ate in the library bar on two nights. Food very good and reasonably priced. Our stay extended to the spa for treatments. We were booked in on the Monday (our arrival day) but we were unable to make it on time due to us underestimating the length of our journey but we were moved to the Tuesday afternoon without a problem. The spa is lovely and the girls very good. Bedroom was on the first floor and very clean. If you want a good night’s sleep this is the place to go as there wasn’t a noise at night!
Only downside? Shower over the bath and the hated shower curtain! I hate shower curtains with a passion. Maybe Brandon House Hotel should consider upgrading the en-suite facilities by removing the bath and installing shower cubicles/wet rooms because in all honesty who in this day takes a bath in a hotel?!
The hotel is very conveniently located on the outskirts of New Ross on the main road to everywhere you want to go! All tourist sites within striking distance. Although the hotel is located on the main roads it is set well back off the road with beautiful grounds around it. It is a very short walk into New Ross also. Thank you Brandon House Hotel for our wonderful stay!

My experience here was very good. I came with a big group and they were patient with us.
The rooms were lovely and cheep enough for staying for 4 nights. Beds were very comfy. Bathroom was big and had a nice mirror with lights on it which made it very handy for doing makeup and stuff. Vending machine was right outside our room so we could go get water or snacks during the night If needed.
Have to give some credit to Gemma ,Roisin and Fionn they were absolutely amazing, kind and just made us feel very welcome and treated us like we weren’t just people they were serving food and drinks to they deserve a lot of credit. some staff that served us didn’t make sure we were okay once and you could tell they were just there for their summer job which wasn’t great I called someone over and they kind of just walked the opposite way to try avoid us.
This hotel is also just a walk away from the town which was very handy if we ever needed anything that wasn’t in the hotel.
Food was nice and wasn’t too expensive. I would definitely recommend the fish and chips.
Pool is Lovely and relaxing.
Would recommend this hotel.

My friend and I stayed there at the weekend for two nights. Both breakfast and dinner were excellent each time we ate there. Covid restrictions were really well adhered to. Every surface is cleaned on a continual basis and the whole place is spotless. The staff were amazing and made our stay very enjoyable. It's probably the friendliest hotel I have ever stayed in. Well done to the staff, excellent service. Thank you all.

Unfortunately, I was extremely dissatisfied with our stay in Brandon House Hotel.
I booked a weekend at a country spa hotel as a gift to my friends, hoping to spend time in a pleasant relaxing atmosphere, swim in the pool and relax in the baths. On the first evening we found the leisure center facilities in unacceptable condition. It’s too cold in the locker rooms, the water temperature in the showers is not regulated (unbearably hot). Half of the buttons in the pool do not work, two lanes are busy with swimming lessons, dirt and limescale are everywhere. The requirement to take a shower after the sauna cannot be fulfilled, because the water in the cold shower is too cold for me, and in the "warm" shower it is too hot. I can understand that thay have traditions, and I'm used to seeing this in the sink, but not in the shower! Seriously, how is this even possible?
The next day, we decided to try the Solas CroĂ Spa. We were told that entrance there is possible only from the outside due to repair work. And we must pay separately for this. By the way, this is not obvious from the information on website. Assuming (from experience) the condition of the spa facilities, we decided not to risk going there for a fee.
In addition, in our room (number 110) there were no electrical outlets near the bed. And on the last day of our stay, wireless Internet did't work in the hotel, even in the lobby.
As a result all weekend I felt only shame and regret that I chose this hotel. I am completely disappointed. I don’t understand how it happened that they got such a high rating on booking.com. Perhaps it's not so bad for Ireland. But we have been to many spa hotels in Eastern Europe. And we did not face such neglect of sanitary standards and hospitality.

Visited Friday March 6th for lunch. Party of 5. Was served by Patsy initially.
Took 20 minutes to place the order and another 30 for food to arrive. The food was okay but certainly not worth the wait. The special of the day, roast beef, was dry and tough and we had to ask for extra gravy to get through it.
About 10 minutes later a waitress called Jane arrived to the area we were seated and proceeded to hoover up around our table.
Jane cleared plates and cutlery from our table while some were still eating which I found very intrusive. And after that once again arrived with her hoover.
The bill came to the table without being requested so there was no opportunity to ask for dessert.
I paid the bill at the bar and returned to the table to gather my belongings.
When it became clear to Jane that she wasn't receiving a tip her whole demeaner changed and she never replied to our thanks or offered a goodbye.
I am local and visit the Brandon often for lunch and this is the first time I've been served in this manner.
I will never return nor will I recommend anybody else to do so.

We booked a Premium Double with the Valentines deal. The wine in the room was warm. When I eventually got through to reception ( 3 times I tried), the wine was swapped for cold bottles. The room over all was nice however it didn't have that premium feel. The bath was coming apart at the bottom, there was no air con (the room was far too warm when we arrived). The room felt very empty and could benefit from a few pictures on the walls
The dinner was OK until we got to desert and my girlfriend who is allergic to wheat asked if one of the deserts was suitable for people with wheat allergies. The waitress was not knowledgeable and went to the kitchen to ask. She came back from the kitchen and said that the desert was suitable for wheat allergies. When the desert came out it had sponge in it. We let the waitress know that this contained wheat and she asked if I wanted it. I did not want it. The waitress brought out another desert (from a function that was happening in the hotel) that didn't contain wheat. Also the wine that we had asked for instead of the procesco was a cheap bottle and not particularly nice. It was a bottle of Yellow Tail Pinot Grigio (which isn't even on the wine menu).
The bar was OK, although it again didn't feel like a 4* bar. The lack on Bourbons was disappointing. The seating and overall decor was worn and could do with renewing especially in the area with the fire and sofas in the center of the room.

I stayed here last weekend. My wife and I only get a chance to get away the odd time due to a busy family life. We were really disappointed with our stay. In summary:
* spa fully booked, no one made us aware even though we were shown around it. Only told when we came back after picking up swimming wear
* spa staff seemed disinterested in our disappointment
* had to book the spa for the following day and then asked to pay €15 each to use the hydro area. we could only use it for an hour because we had to get home that morning. Staff even more disinterested in helping.
* no tables in the restaurant even though we tried to book our table at 3pm
* no nice restaurants in the area so had to eat in the bar; hardly ideal when you're away for a rare w/end without kids
* only 3 varieties of red wine available from a list of around 10 to 12; apparently it was busy. Not sure how you can run out of 7 to 9 other varieties. Being a hotel, I'd expect better stock management
* wine we had was poor but we weren't expecting much. Of the 12 on the list, it would have been well down the list anyway
* chicken wing starter was greasy and not pleasant
* rest of dinner was very average but I suppose what you'd expect from a bar
* tried to use the gym and was given half a towel; apparently there were none left. I just wanted a towel.... in a hotel???
* a number of staff disinterested in how disappointed we were with the service and our stay.
* promised a call back from management following an initial complaint; never received a call back
My advice is if you value service, don't stay here. There's a good chance you'll be disappointed with the hotel and the location (New Ross).

When we arrived to the hotel we were put in a room at the very back of the hotel. From walking into the room it was very clear from the get go it had not been cleaned. There was very visible stains on the beds and sweet wrappers on the couch. The radiator in the room would not turn off and the room was extremely warm. I asked at reception if we could change rooms and I had my 14 month old son with me and was not happy with the standard of the room. I was met with some resistance from reception however, I was then given a new room. The new room was just as bad. Glasses with lipstick and last but not least a pair of underwear from a previous guest on the floor!!!! I checked out early and demanded my money back. A manager called me and apologised profusely and said they would send me a voucher for a free stay and look after us. I’m still waiting on that voucher! Would never return

Reception at check in was very quick, efficient and warm. Our room was on the second floor the only access is via the stairs which is no problem. There is ample parking. The spa was fully booked but we used the thermal suites at €15 per person for guests for up to 4 hours. We were the only ones there well worth a few hours. The little lane to the spa door is just outside the main hotel door to the right. The room was very spacious and a fab comfortable bed with great bathroom amenities. We ate in the hotel both nights and the food was lovely when it did arrive. It's clear that there is a lot of new staff trying to learn on the job, our biggest issue I ordered the wings as a main but only got a starter portion and we waited 45 for desert only to find out our order hadn't been put in the floor manager then went and complete the order himself. Breakfast was hit and miss we ate at the same time both mornings, our 1st morning the male chef on the pass was adding fresh food quiet often. The second morning the female chef on the pass had a lot of food under the lights and tasted over done and dry also no hash browns available the second morning. The longer serving staff are trying their best to keep it all going.

My husband and I visited for dinner last week. The hotel was very clean and covid was taken very seriously. We quickly realised that the hotel was desperately understaffed, the same girl (Aoife) who took our covid certs also took our food order, drinks order at the bar and brought us our food when it was ready and cleared up after each course. We were there for about 2 hours altogether and we never seen another member of staff apart from this young lady. The restaurant wasn’t overly busy but there was about 12-13 tables with 2 or more guests on each and she took care of everyone of those on her own and all with a very friendly attitude. Never once complained. She was so friendly, professional and accommodating to my picky self. She definitely is a credit to the hotel, couldn’t of asked for a nicer lady to look after us for dinner.
If your lucky enough to have Aoife wait on you while visiting the Brandon house hotel you won’t be disappointed.
