Detailed Reviews
Michael looked after me from booking to checking in. He is a gentleman. I could imagine someone suggesting that the rooms need updating. But be clear, the rooms are very clean, comfortable and well maintained. I was gone very early in the morning so can't comment on breakfast but I recommend this guest house as a great value for money place to stay. Book early as its always busy, which speaks for itself. I will stay here regularly.

I can not recommend this B&B strongly enough! We spent five nights in Ireland, and this is the one place my children still talk about. We arrived late in New Ross, visited the Dunbrody and decided we needed a place to stay for the night. The woman at the TI recommended Glendower House and called to see if they had a room. Located just outside the main part of the city, we were welcomed to a large, comfortable family room at a reasonable price and treated like family. If you want to get away from the commercial cities and meet real Irish folks, this is the stop for you. Recommendations for dinner were spot on – wonderful pub with 4-star food only about a mile away, parking out front, and a common living room to stretch out in and chat were great. Breakfast was perfect – full Irish with a smile. We are planning our return now!

Stayed here on Saturday night 16/7 family room two adults and three children. We arrived at 20.30 and were exhausted from travelling. Our room was like something from the 1980s the carpet had sticky spots and a lot of stains it clearly has seen better days. The TV was Tiny. The Beds were ok just a bit small. There was a damp kinda musty smell throughout the premises. The door of the room had clearly been kicked in at some stage and a piece of board was screwed to the door as a repair?
The Bathroom was huge but the bath didn't work you were told not use it the shower was manky the tiles had mould spots as had the walls. It was just awful. We booked this thru booking .com if we didn't stay we were still being charged. We slept for a few hours and left very early the next morning no breakfast. I don't understand how this place can have such good ratings maybe there are two glendower houses and I picked the wrong one? My advice is go elsewhere .

A local hotel recommended this place, and it was by far the most disappointing of all the b & b's we stayed at during our visit to Ireland.
It looked fine on first inspection, but it wasn't as clean as it should have been. It was nice that a kettle was supplied, but it was dirty, and I had to clean it before I used it. TV remote was duct taped together, and didn't work.
The sheets were soft and shapeless, not in a good way, more like old and washed one too many times. They just felt old.
The breakfast was fine. Michael was pleasant enough, but didn't spend one minute with us more than he had to. Not very welcoming.
It was the only b&b we've stayed at anywhere with security cameras inside - a major turnoff and more than a bit creepy. He said it was because the door was always open - fine, one camera at the door would have been sufficient.
Nice crisp sheets, a thorough cleaning, a host who wasn't rushed or distracted, and this place would easily rate much higher.

Glendower House was an excellent B&B. Michael was extremely helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable and there is a relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast was great and Michael will make you anything you want. The gardens are beautiful and well maintained. Glendower House is also close to the town centre.

We needed a bed for the night on the way to Rosslare ferry and Wales. We got what we paid for. We have used this venue several times before but we feel that it needs upgrading. The host always makes us most welcome and we feel that we get good value. A great big Tesco Superatore just down the road provides a good walk. Nearby New Ross is worth a visit as is The Dunbrody Famine Ship known to the President Kennedy Family.

I stayed here with a group of 10 as part of a cycling trip. The rooms were nice and they served a very good breakfast. Bathrooms quite small in some rooms. Private parking and free WiFi. Very reasonably priced.
