We ate in Kennedy’s and found it lovely. The place looks great, very well decorated. COVID precautions were ok, most of the staff managed to wear the mask over nose, which is good going.

The staff seem a little new to the job, but doing the best they can under the circumstances. Bar man was under visible pressure, drinks arrived after food. (Wine list is an odd range for a “boutique “ establishment, and some of it was out of stock.) Any local wine dealer would sort that out if asked.

Food was fine, menu is limited, not updated in a few years I would guess, and unadventurous. Caesar salad was very heavy / fatty. Too much dressing and a lot of bacon. Looked like something assembled from a packet rather than homemade as the lettuce edges were brown. Ribs and chips were tasty, Pasta and sauce was good and chicken nuggets and chips were fine. No veg available with any of the children’s meals.

Service was quick, our order was correct, no errors.

Bathrooms were clean and well stocked.

Bill was slightly off, a single euro overcharged vs menu, didn’t bother getting it changed.

Generally positive experience, if the chef could liven up the menu, and the wine selection got sorted we would be back in a shot.

Rooms were comfortable and clean. Good size bed.
Could do with a bit more attention to detail..eg. some doors in the corridor were rather dirty around the handles.
The continental breakfast was disappointing...limited range of cereal, yogurt but no fruit, toast but no marmalade (if you ask, individual portions are brought from their tea room). But the really off putting thing was the ham and cheese. Cheap sweaty ham and cheese slices which weren't even removed from the catering packets that they were bought in. If they were at least served on plates, they might look more appealing.

We stayed for one night room was nice and comfortable. Good location to when visiting New Ross. The carvery was lovely. We were a disappointed there was no hot breakfast. Parking is free on Sunday but we had to keep going back to put a euro in on the morning. No parking with the hotel.

On arrival to Kennedy Boutique Hotel the receptionist told us there was no power in the bar or restaurant, this meant they were unable to serve drinks or food. There was no reason given for no power. The deal that we purchased included breakfast. It was made evident we would not be receiving the breakfast due to the fact there was no power. The receptionist then told us that as we booked trough booking.com she couldn’t give a refund, but didn’t offer us an upgrade or any compensation. She said there would be croissants, tea, and coffee in the morning, however this was not the case as when we went down the next morning there was nothing available to eat or drink. One of our key’s also didn’t work, but receptionist sorted that out. The room looked clean but light shades were full of cobwebs. The receptionist was very helpful told us were to go for a meal later that evening. When checking out the man at reception had no mask on, he went back in to the bar and returned with napkins in his mouth. He started looking for a mask so replaced napkins with mask, he then took our room keys. He only spoke to say “grand thanks” and said nothing else. Feeling very disappointed with our stay.

We, 2 couples had drinks and food in the outside area this evening. My caeser salad was lettuce and chicken with parmessan, I requested no bacon. Other food was OK. Service was a disaster. We had 4 people serving us and no one knew what they were doing. We asked for napkins and an ashtray which we never got. A neighbouring tables drinks bill for €41 was put on our drinks bill. I told staff there was no toilet paper in the ladies and a half hour later there was still none and the paper towels were gone also. Service was very slow. The staff were nice. Very little hand sanitizer on display.

My husband and I ate in the inside restaurant on an overnight visit to New Ross. Our accommodation was elsewhere in town.
The menu was very limited and lacked imagination, containing the usual offerings. I asked what vegan food they could offer and the one option was falafel, spicy tomato sauce & rice. We were tired and not many places were open so we gave it a go. My husband had battered cod, mashed potatoes and peas. These were very acceptable. Unfortunately the falafel was reheated, pre prepared and the spicy sauce was pure chilli and nearly blew the head off me. I asked for an alternate sauce and was brought a less spicy one but alas it was no better. I could not eat the meal and told the waiter it was unacceptable. He spoke with the chef and I was not charged for it. My husband finished his fish and went on to have apple crumble which again was acceptable. Nothing on the desert menu suited my tastes or dietary preferences.
The staff and the surroundings were pleasant. However, overall it was a very disappointing experience.

Review dated August 2021 & not long after restaurants could reopen.
Good procedures in place re COVID with double vaccination checks in place (QR reader). Well spaced tables and everything had been wiped down after the last guests.
Very attentive staff. Maybe worth asking guests ‘just the once’ if everything was okay.
Lots of choice on the menu, except for the desserts but under present circumstances, we could live with that.
Our pasta dishes were ‘okay’. They could have been a little hotter & maybe served with a side salad....just to give a bit of variety & colour.
Good value for money & we would recommend eating here.

Stayed for one night as a family of 4. Beautifully clean spacious room. All staff we met were more than helpful. Lovely relaxed atmosphere. Kids were so impressed with the penthouse we stayed in. Ate outside in the printers yard. We all really enjoyed our food. We had a delicious cocktail yo finish the night snd they even made the kids a special mocktail. A very memorable break away. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer.

After having an enjoyable 3 night break I had to ask myself how things could have been better. We had two rooms booked, a choice of a double and a twin. Intuitively the hotel should have realised our teenagers would have preferred a twin room. Anyway, easily rectified. Then the key cards wouldn't work. Again, after a quick trip to reception, sorted. At least till the following day. No netfilx/internet in our room. This was never fixed. Not a huge deal. Power was gone in the kitchen so there was no hot food available for our duration. Again, we ate out, strange it couldn't be fixed after a few days though. Staff in the bar couldn't have been more helpful. 5 stars there. The beds were really comfortable and we slept well. Parking was outside the hotel which was great. With the absence of hot food there could have been more variety for breakfast, but again, not a big deal.
