The only positive here is that the hotel staff are really friendly. That's where the good news ends. Two days before our arrival we were sent an email advising us that there were going to be two very busy functions at the hotel and that the restaurant would be closed to residents. Great! Clearly the functions were not last minute...

Not sure where to start as the day was a nightmare. Spa was ok but not particularly clean, facial was nice - that was the only positive thing I can write. Afternoon tea was appealing. Tuna and ham sandwiches which were almost certainly prepacked ones cut into 4. Cakes were 100% from a packet as have found the same ones...

My Wife and I had been looking forward to lunch and 4 star treatment for some while following receipt of a gift voucher from our children. On arrival we were informed that the restaurant was not in use (although not advised why) and that lunch would be served in a smaller room - possibly because very few patrons were expected?...

My sister in law has been trying for months to get the immediate family together for a meal to celebrate her 60th Birthday (since March 2016) - we finally agreed on a date and venue. She opted for a party of 10 of us to go to the Botleigh Grange on Sunday lunchtime (2 days ago) - Firstly the sunday...

Our party consisted of 3 women hoping for a relaxing spa weekend. The spa was OK. The staff in the spa however, were very professional and lovely. As a previous reviewer mentioned though, far too small. Especially when a hen do turned up. And I agree I nearly slipped on the floor multiple times and one of our party was...

To save you from a very disappointing day do not book this hotel for a spa or afternoon tea experience..! Myself & 7 friends having spent £59 each can honestly say this was horrific.. the spa area tiny not enough room to all get changed.. spa areas terribly small & very unclean. Not enough loungers around the pool to all...

If I can offer one piece of advice, it would be to spend your money elsewhere. I visited for a spa day with afternoon tea with a group of friends back in September. First up, there's barely room to swing a cat in the changing rooms, let along enough space for 8 women to change. The same goes for the...

The best way to sum up this hotel is one persons quaint and period is another persons tired and old fashioned. We found it quaint and period. The setting is lovely with the lake and gardens and the building conjures up a bygone era of big English country houses. The staff were pleasant and tried hard but were obviously a...

On arrival we were told to go to the bar and tell the barman we are here for afternoon tea. We went to the bar and we're greeted with two staff along with others guests drinking in the bar. We were told to sit at table and we will be served. We expected tables with table cloths but not so...
