Detailed Reviews
On a recent trip to Waterford we stayed with Susan in Newrath House, we where only going to stay for 1 night but ended up staying for 2 nights, from the moment we arrived until we left Susan was amazing, we got Tea & homemade Scones on arrival, our room was warm and spotless, the house was amazing she even drove us in to Waterford instead of us taking the car,the breakfast was Michelin star with warm homemade brown bread straight from the oven, pancakes, with fruits and yogurt, warm scones and french toast with homemade apple and tomato chutney preserve along with the full irish breakfast looking out at her lovely horse called Fr. Ted, was the best we have had anywhere in Ireland or abroad all cooked by Susan nothing was a problem, after breakfast we could sit in the sitting room and read our papers, for us this house oozed character and Susan's hospitality and warmth was amazing. p.j & Rosemarie.

We had a Lovely stay at Newrath House.
Beautiful house full of old-world charm & character. Wonderful Host in Susan, who provided such homely accommodation and what a "Splendid" breakfast provided.

We booked the Newrath House based on TripAdvisor reviews. Despite having real difficulty in finding the place, and only found it thanks to the kind proprietors of the local petrol station, we were greeted very warmly by the owner who showed us to our room. The property is old and full of character although in some respects needs a little TLC. We ordered breakfast for the following morning and headed out to explore the city. We had a comfortable night and went down to breakfast which is served in the conservatory. Then food was plentiful and well cooked and our hostess kept popping in to make sure we had everything we needed. The cornerstone of Newrath House is its owner, a delightful lady with a warm personality who will do everything she can to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

Newrath House is a wonderful place to stay and in such a beautiful setting. My girlfriend & I stayed there for the Oct bank hol wkend and we couldn't have been happier with our stay. The room and ensuite bathroom were very clean and comfortable. Susan is such a great host. She really could not do enough for us and served up the most amazing breakfasts on both mornings. We will definitely be back to spend another weekend there in 2020.

The owner Susan goes beyond the call of duty to make guests feel comfortable and relaxed. My wife was ill and Susan spent a considerable amount of time finding a doctor that could see her that day. Just an example of going the extra mile. The breakfast in the glass conservatory was stunning and cooked to order. You will see rabbits, foxes, sheep and horses. Susan's knowledge of the area along with her engaging banter is a delight. The room we stayed in was huge, as was the combined bathroom/dressing room. The walk to the viking triangle took us around 35 minutes. Plenty of parking in town, but take 1 and 2 euro coins as they don't take credit cards in the meters. Parking is 1 euro per hour. The walking tour with Michael from he visitor's centre is very good and only 7 euros per person.

Newrath is a quintessential old family country manor house. With only two rooms rented and complete private access to the main rooms you feel completely at home. The setting is on several acres over looking the river. with horses , sheep , rabbits and the occasional fox . Susan is a great host and breakfast was over the top. Overall a comfortable stay and a great value.

Absolutely beautiful house with a wonderful host who was so helpful and friendly, even giving us a lift into town on the evening we were staying there. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious, and the homemade lemon cake we got on arrival with tea was gorgeous! The gardens are lovely and is a delight to see the rabbits running around :) I had a relaxing bath after a long cycle and walk in the huge veeeery deep bath and didn't want to get out! Would not hesitate to book again. Highly recommend.

The owner, Susan, and her daughter, Faith, were very gracious. They could not have been more welcoming. Susan served us fresh baked scones and tea when we arrived and then sat with us to discuss potential places we could go to eat super. Our room was actually a very large suite on the upper floor of the large 18th century manor house with wonderful views of the river and garden. Free Wi-Fi was available and work best in the dining room. Breakfast was cooked to order, served in the solarium and excellent. Both Susan and Faith were perfect hosts and interesting to talk with.

+1
Great place to relax and feel the atmosphere of an awesome old house with horses, dogs and a fantastic breakfast. Close to Waterford (20-30min walk or 5min by car). Waterford offers a ton of pubs and good restaurants.

Staying here was a wonderful experience. The owner, Susan, is delightful. The breakfast she prepared was much better than most hotels and B&Bs we visited during our two-week stay, in a lovely setting. What a find!
