Myself and 2 friends stayed in Portree recently and were pleasantly surprised at it. We had just wanted to book an inexpensive place in the city centre as we knew we wouldn't be spending much time in the plae. Portree, although short of unnecessary glamour, was absolutely clean and had all the basics in place. The beds were comfortable, it was extremely quiet at night and the shower was good. There is a kitchen downstairs where you can make tea/coffee for yourself (and full kitchen facilities for anybdy who wants to prepare their own meals) which is a fantastic amenity. They also have a lovely garden off this kitchen where you can relax and enjoy your coffee. They also have a private carpark which is fabulous in the heart of the city. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to help. I would definitely stay there again.

Stayed with our elderly pets in June 2021. We had no issues with our dogs during the stay which meant alot to us. The room was basic and comfortable. would recommend that the bathroom have a face lift. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious, highly recommended. The location is perfect across the road from train station, also parking available at rear of guest house. The staff were extremely attentive and friendly. Would definitely return again and recommend

2 years ago I had to have minor surgery in Waterford. At the time I wasn't earning much so I booked here. €16 for one night, I wasn't expecting much but I got an experience like no other. I'd pay €300 for what I got. I arrive to a warm reception and I am shown my lodgings. A shared room of 6 beds if I remember correctly. I was the first to arrive. I left my bags and so on in the locker and sat on the lounge. It was a relaxed room that was tastefully decorated. It felt as though I were in my own home. I venture downstairs to the kitchen and I am greeted by fellow guests. A German, a Spanish woman, an Italian and a Chinese woman. While talking they invited me to go out with them. They did not know the city very well so I offered to be their guide for the night. Well we hit up every single good pub in the city. I was due in the hospital at 7 the following morning and was under surgeon's instructions not to take fluids after midnight. We, the veritable United Nations, stumbled back to the house at 5:30 that morning. I learned that night that they were actually working at the guest house. The level of care and customer service from Portree House is exceptional. To this day, we all remain in contact. I have unfortunately, never had the chance to return to there. I hope to do so again very soon.

Thanks a million Stephen. It's really great to hear someone has such a great experience. We too miss our international crew since the pandemic started but look forward to welcoming the world back as soon as we can. In the meantime, thanks very much for your kind words and while we have closed our shared rooms for the moment, you'll be very welcome in our guesthouse any time. All the best
