We visited the Marina on Sunday. We were given the large family room which has a beautiful view as a free upgrade as it was my daughter’s birthday. She was also greeted with a card and box of chocolates. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. Have to mention the poor barman who had to deal with a women complaining about her meal behind us (even though she ate the lot of it). He must have apologised and offered to swap her meal at least three times before giving her it for free (which was obviously what she set out to get). Anyway he handled her really well and was so nice. A lovely stay, thank you
Room was really huge, clean with a nice view. All staff were very accommodating and extremely friendly especially Lora at reception. Thanks Lora :) Hotel is at the perfect location for exploring Waterford.
Room was clean with a nice view. All staff were very accommodating and extremely friendly especially Ronan and Dermott in the bar! Had a lovely stay and will be back again very soon, also very safe with covid guidelines.
It’s seldom that a hotel in Ireland is full in December but this year they are especially quiet for obvious reasons. Reception is bright and tidy with helpful staff behind the counter screens. The room was fine with a familiar hotel room layout. Residents only to eat in the hotel so there were just three single diners in the bar of which I was one. I’d the burger which was very tasty and rhubarb and strawberry crumble which was warming on a cold winter evening. Breakfast was fine though I was surprised that the full Irish included diced potatoes- potato bread maybe but not diced surely! Anyway all good. There wasn’t much to complain about so the Marina Hotel proved to be a very adequate overnight stop in Waterford.
We stayed at the Waterford Marina Hotel for a couple of nights in March of this year, little knowing that it would be our last stay away for a while as lockdown came into effect shortly after our return home. The hotel is very well situated in the city, overlooking the river and a short walk away from the city centre shops, attractions and restaurants. That said, the first night we opted to eat in the bar at the hotel and had a superb meal, good choice of menu, freshly cooked, delicious food and well priced; service was friendly (a typical Irish welcome) and the bar was a really pleasant environment, with a mix of hotel guests and locals. Staff at Reception were helpful with suggestions of what to do and see in Waterford, directions to places to eat etc. The hotel also wins the prize for quite the most secure parking of any place we have stayed - undercover and with secure doors, operated from Reception - make sure you go into the ground level, undercover car park at the back of the hotel and don't drive up the ramp to the above ground level, which is private parking for the nearby town houses and may get you clamped. Bedrooms were basic but clean. This is a three star hotel, well-priced and so the accommodation was in line with our expectations. Rooms were of a good size, quiet - we overlooked the river - and had everything we needed for our stay. We enjoyed the breakfasts, a good choice, hot food good and hot and plenty of it. It surpassed our expectations for the rate we had paid. A good choice for a stay in Waterford.…
