I was really impressed with our huge room with a separate living area the hotel is spotless and staff are very accommodating.
Although I wasn’t impressed with a €5 room service charge I thought the price of the room was very reasonable considering how big it was. Overall enjoyed our stay

Stayed here for 1 night with my boyfriend. I chose this hotel based on the positive reviews I read on booking.com. The ladies at reception were very friendly and informative in regards to COVID safety measures and there were lots of sanitising stations around. The hotel itself is in a fantastic location, within short walking distance of bars, restaurants and shops. Also the view onto the river is fab. The decor in the main reception was tasteful. We had a booking for dinner, I was very impressed by the quality of food served, large portions and value for money. Staff were friendly, efficient and very attentive. However, I was disappointed by the room after I had paid €166 for a double. The room was tiny with a view onto a housing estate. The bathroom didn’t have a bath nor complimentary shampoo, conditioner, shower caps, and the shower head was very low down. I had stayed in a different 3 star hotel the night before, paid less and they had supplied all of these things and the room was a lot bigger. The room was also next to the lift, and the walls were thin so it was very noisy with people coming and going through the lift, banging their doors etc. Notwithstanding the noise, the bed was very small and uncomfortable with scratchy sheets so we didn’t get a good nights sleep. My boyfriend now has back pain as a result. I hadn’t asked to change rooms as we were only staying for one night and didn’t want to cause a fuss. Breakfast which was included had a good selection of food and excellent service. The only downside was that my cutlery wasn’t clean. I would suggest that they change the mattresses and upgrade the rooms/bathrooms. At check out I wasn’t asked how my stay was and they missed the opportunity to receive this feedback in person. I wouldn’t stay here again in future because of the poor nights sleep.

Myself and my wife visited Waterford over the bank holiday weekend for a well deserved break. We enjoyed our stay at the Marina Hotel. Our room was nice, the staff were lovely and a nice breakfast. Any hour of the day there was scalding hot water on tap which is great with all the extra hand washing that is required these days. Other than breakfast over the 2 days we only had a lite bite on the afternoon of our arrival. The ham and cheese toasties were delicious and tasty chips on the side. The only negative was not being able to have a drink at the residents bar for a night cap on returning from venturing up the town. I can't fault the hotel for this as they are following the guidelines. Other than that we had a lovely stay and would return to the hotel anytime we find ourselves staying in Waterford.

Stayed here on a recent 2 night break for my husbands birthday. Hotel was comfortable and clean. It has signs of wear/dated and the rooms are on the smaller side, but if you are after a budget Hotel with everything you need in a central location, including a free secure car park this hotel is excellent. We had breakfast included and it was very good. It is a buffet breakfast and was a little busier on Saturday morning but staff dealt with it very well. Followed all the covid regs with regular cleaning.
Left a card and some chocolates in the room for my husband and staff were all very friendly from reception to house keeping to bar and breakfast staff.

Caroline was great at reception and answered all my questions. Thank you. Would definitely stay again.

Just spent a fabulous 2 nights at the Waterford Marina Hotel. Beautiful spotlessly clean Hotel, so close to city centre shopping. Room was cosy & warm. Shower was extremely powerful and lots of hot water available. The restaurant was fantastic, as a coeliac I rarely enjoy eating out due to limited options. That was definitely not the case in the Waterford Marina hotel. Susan was the name of the young girl who greeted us on arrival for breakfast, she was a font of knowledge and so friendly and helpful. A definite gem among the hotel staff. There was a vast variety to choose from including gluten free bread, cereals and a full gluten free fry up, sausages, pudding, hash browns etc. All served piping hot. Dinner was another huge success with plenty to choose from, the soup was gorgeous and the beef was melt in the mouth. Dessert was a disappointment though, after being spoiled for choice throughout our stay the dessert option was generic "fruit salad" or "ice cream. Meanwhile my husband had a delectable selection of fudge cake, cheesecake & ice cream in a waffle basket. A small gripe but a nice dessert would literally have been the icing on an otherwise perfect cake. We will definitely be booking the Waterford Marina hotel anytime we stay in Waterford.

location excellent for visiting waterford city on foot and driving to beaches, staff amazing, made children feel so special. Our room spotless, Helen and her house keeping team made sure we were very comfortable and had everything we needed. Food in bar was really good and not bad value, we ate there for four nights, lovely sitting on terrace overlooking river. staff made it a lovely experience, again their kindess and patience with the children was brilliant. Looking forward to a return trip, a very welcoming hotel.

Situated on the banks of the River Suir this lovely hotel is just perfect for that quiet relaxing and peaceful weekend. When we arrived we came in via the back of the hotel which isn't that well presented, however on entering the back door it opens out into a lovely bright reception area with seating to relax and have a well deserved drink. There is a small comfortable bar where foot is served until 9 pm. On Friday and Saturday there is live music, a bit on the loud side, but it can be enjoyed in the foyer of hotel or the little nook on the way out the back entrance. Both sets of singers on the Friday and Saturday nights were brilliant.

We ate in the restaurant on the Saturday night and it was absolutely beautiful. The toilet facilities were spotless and the room was warm and had everything you would need to enjoy your stay.

Thanks to everyone for making our stay such a happy one and we look forward to coming back again really soon.

Stayed here for 3 nights recently. Very average hotel. In need of a really good clean inside and out. We stayed on 3rd floor and could hear the people in the room above us going to the toilet each time, and I don't mean their footsteps. Staff were friendly and we ate in the bar one night and food was quite nice in fairness. Obviously due to covid hotels are under huge pressure to stick to the regulations without infringing on their guests stay but they've gotten it badly wrong here.
No glasses or cups in the bedroom apart from 2 paper cups. Guests can't have a drink without buying the standard €9 meal even if wanting to bring drink to your room, but then the food stops at 9pm so that's it then. My biggest gripe is the breakfast. Guests walking around with no face masks at a self service cereal and juice buffet coughing into their hands and then using drinks dispensers and toasters etc that everybody else has to use. Staff making zero attempt to politely ask people to cover up. Brought it up with the manager who basically shrugged his shoulders and said sure what can he do. Very unnerving.
We didn't eat in hotel after that as they obviously don't take the issue of cross infection of covid serious.
Won't return.

Responded 8 Sept 2020
Dear Kevinthehoop Thank you for your review and feedback on your stay with us. As you mentioned hotels are working tirelessly to stick to changing guidelines all the time and we are sticking closely to these on the advice of Failte Ireland. We have signed up to the Covid Charter which is a reassurance that we are following the current guidelines and best practice. Your review is unfair in my opinion for several reasons. We have 9 sanitising stations on our ground floor alone including 4 in the breakfast room, all touch points are regularly cleaned, our cereals are all in individual packets and all areas marked out for social distancing. Most hotels like us have removed items such as glasses from rooms and put in disposable cups. The rules around serving alcohol is quite clear - you must purchase a substantial mean to the value of €9 in order to be served - from your comment above you are basically asking that we break these rules. Face masks are advised in indoor settings, policing this by staff is not feasible or possible. The vast majority of people are following this but your comments above are very unfair and exaggerated. People must also take personal responsibility in these matters. I am happy to discuss this further with you should you wish. Regards Michael Skehan

Stayed here for 2 nights our second time back in the last year, a great hotel and location, within walking distance of the city centre , lovely food and a great familial feeling amongst the staff who work so hard to ensure people have a wonderful stay. We dined in the hotel on both evenings as the food is so tasty and a lovely flow of people coming and going including tour buses, a great breakfast and such a quiet location. The people who work here are absolutely brilliant in particular Dermot who takes great pride in his work as head barman a consummate professional and so incredibly helpful, obvious someone who loves his job, a mention as well for Roxana who is brilliant at her job and so helpful at breakfast time, cant wait to go back to this gem, thanks to all concerned at the beautiful Marina.

Car parking was ideal in the hotels secure car park. The reception staff checked our group of 8 lads in quickly. They were very friendly as were all the staff. We went straight to the bar for food and pints. Our afternoon was a relaxing one, watching the rugby in comfort. Danny, the manager, took great care of us. The bar was busy and the service efficient and friendly. The rooms were fine. Our room rate was €100, so €50 per person including breakfast. Everyone slept well and the temperature of the room was perfect..... Often hotels are too hot or cold. Breakfast buffet was very good. My only criticism would be that the bathroom in my room was probably at the stage of needing a refurbishment. It was however, spotlessly clean and in good maintenance. I think we got great value and would have paid more. The overall experience was excellent.

Hi Carol, the waterford greenway is accessible from many areas - one is near the main Bridge on the quays which is approximately 6/8 minutes cycling distance from the hotel or 25 minutes walking. There are many bike hire companies along the quays if you need to hire and shuttle buses can bring you back if you want to drop the bike in one of the stopoff points along the route. Thankyou for your question sorry the reply was not sooner, please contact our front office team direct on 051856600 for details on availability and packages. Regards Karen
