Very disappointed with our stay! The room was absolutely freezing & we reported to the house keeper/owner still nothing was done, TV remote was broken and no offer for it to be replaced! We were in the room from 8pm Saturday evening and we literally had to spend the evening in the beds and some of us had to keep hoodies and scarfs on due to the cold! Had to leave at 9.30am on the Sunday due to the cold & lack of breakfast! We have all now come down with the flu since we left and I personally contacted the owner for a refund but won’t give it! Honestly would have been better off booking into the Travelodge would have been a much nicer stay & I wouldn’t be out of work 3 weeks before Christmas due to been sick!

Lovely B n B located in a great area of Waterford City. Very close to the city centre but Tramore and Dunmore East still a drivable distance. Great choice for breakfast, both Continental and full Irish. John and Margo lovely hosts.

It's not a reliable place. I do not recommend.

We made a reservation, received confirmation by email, paying for the accommodation with breakfast included.

In addition, we made telephone contact with the Hazelbrook B&B and confirmed all the details of the reservation.

On the eve of the scheduled date for check-in, we were advised that there was no vacancy available at the location and that, therefore, our guest, the guest, would have to be moved to another location, supposedly part of the same system or network as Hazelbrook B&B. This left us very disappointed as all previous confirmations were invalidated.

We got in touch with this other place that we were told about and we learned that it was an Airbnb. The new hostess said that it was a room and a house with a shared bathroom and that there was no breakfast included. When we asked about the fact that we had made a reservation for a room with bathroom (suite) and breakfast, she was very rude and replied with a “If you don't want to stay here, cancel the reservation. I do not want problems!".

So, on the eve of hosting a friend from another country in the city, we had to deal with the cancellation with Hazelbrook B&B and look, at the last minute, for another hotel for our friend to stay.

Afterwards, we discovered several other similar reports on the internet. Therefore, as stated, we do not recommend it.

We booked 2 nights B and B at Hazelbrook. The day before we arrived we had a phone call asking for our time of arrival and saying our booking was for room only - no breakfast. When we arrived the owner (Graham) repeated that breakfast would not be provided. We showed our confirmation paperwork from Booking.com and the owner said there had clearly been a mistake on their part as no breakfasts had been provided for 2 years. He agreed to reduce our bill by €10 per person per night and suggested we get breakfast from a cafe just up the road.
I have checked today and see that for new bookings there is still reference to breakfast being included. This is inaccurate and misleading.
Owner (Graham) would only accept full payment in cash.
The rooms could have been a lot cleaner.
My possessions were left inside what I thought was a locked and secure room but when I returned from a day out I found my ground floor bedroom window had been left open. This may have been an attempt to dispel the unpleasant smells from the drains in the bathroom.

Apparently I booked a Superior room which turned out to be an attic space with really low ceiling. I was too tall for the room. Attic window with dark mold. Noisy. Booked with breakfast and was told there was no breakfast. Nothing about a shared shower room and was forced to share. No hot water when I used the shower. Every noise in the bnb could be heard. En-suite toilet wall right behind bed with dripping noise that lasts a half hour after every flush.

Arrived late so I had no alternative. While I was traveling to the bnb I was contacted by mail from Agoda to tell me the bnb was closed due to covid. I arrived not knowing if I had a place to sleep and the owner knew nothing about the mail. He tried to tell me it wasn’t paid for even though I showed the online receipt. No idea why that happened. Nightmare! never again!

I was promised breakfast when I booked. When I arrived the manager said that Hazelbrook (Waterford) had discontinued this because of Covid. He had no reply when I told him that Hazelbrook (Waterford)'s web site on my arrival day promised a breakfast. I stayed, for 2 days, and had to pay for breakfast elsewhere. The manager then promised money back, which has not arrived and I doubt ever will. In addition, the rooms were not very clean, were very small (I could barely walk around my bed) and there was a dead insect on my bed when I first arrived. I recommend you stay somewhere else, even if it costs you a few Euro more.

Avoid this entity at all costs. After driving for 3.5hrs on 01/08/2024 – Arrived after 7pm to be informed by the housekeeper, who could not speak a word of English but tried very hard to explain to us that that there was no reservation even though we had book and paid eight weeks before hand. The lovely housekeeper got “Noel” on the phone who confirmed to us that he cancelled our booking with Booking.Com, but no one told or inform us and “Noel” had our contact details.

The excuse that was given by “Noel” was that 2 rooms had sewerage issues and that works were been carried out up the road! Now how can 2 rooms and not the other rooms have the sewage issue – absolute nonsense. There were NO works up or down the road over the whole weekend.

Furthermore, “Noel” should never have put this lady in the position to do his dirty work! Disgraceful behaviour and also given local B&B owners bad names!

Find yourselves a local hotel, as we ended up doing and far more comfortable. There are many in the Waterford area. Theresa.

Turned up at the B&B at 7pm to be told that booking had been cancelled 5 days earlier. This was correct and we had not been notified by the booking agent. However the reason given made not sense; sewage works down the road meant 2 rooms were not usuable for 2 of the nights we were there. We could stay 1 night but would have to leave the following morning, needless to say we left immediately. We did check the area and there were no sewage working in any of the adjacent roads and how only 2 rooms were affected I do not understand and the owner would not explain. His attitude was that it was not his issue and didn't care about his guest

Our booking was cancelled on the night before we were due to arrive in what seemed like strange circumstances. We were offered a room in another house that night but had to pay a second time . Chasing for weeks now to try to secure a refund, as yet to no avail
