Thanks again!
We had never stayed in one before and if what we experienced here was anything to go by it is unlikely that we will ever book into a hotel again . Pearse Lodge exceeded all our expectations . We were greeted by the genial couple who run the house and they explained to us all we needed to know about the place . Our on- suite bedroom was spotless and had lovely touches like a teas- made etc . The full Irish breakfast I had the following morning was the most beautifully presented breakfast I have ever seen and my wife’s smoked salmon with scrambled egg was also a joy to behold .
Any further comments I could made would all be positive. Mary and Kieran who run this business and they are simply the best .
We had let them know in advance that we were vegan and they made us really welcome, with plenty of options for breakfast. Mary baked us vegan brown bread and cakes which were very good, and we had soya milk available on the breakfast table.
We were in Beech Room, which is a large room with a sitting area and an en-suite bathroom. It was very comfortable and also very quiet at night.
The location is excellent, a short walk from Sligo town centre and with easy access to the main roads in and out of the town. Mary and Kieron gave us plenty of guidance on what to see and do in the area, and are excellent hosts.
This is a place we would definitely stay in again.
Thanks again, Julie & Andrew.
Even in the initial email enquiry, Mary and Kieron were prompt and helpful with their responses. On a arrival , we were warmly welcomed and Mary took time to tell us all we needed to know about nearby attractions and the surrounding area. The (superior) room was spacious, comfortable and well equipped.....and then there were the breakfasts which were up there with the very best (jarred fruits, yoghurt, home baked breads making way for an excellent range of hot plates cooked to order).
The ambience of Pearse Lodge is that perfect Irish blend of top notch hospitality and unpretentious, yet classy, accommodation - thank you Mary and Kieron :)
Highly recommended!!
