This is an excellent B&B, everything you could wish for. We stayed for a weekend in October while attending an event 3 miles away. Gerry was good enough to take us in to the venue eah evening-we greatly enjoyed his banter. Ida's breakfasts are relaxed with huge attention to detail and no fuss. We had to stay around the house to do some work on talks we were preparing-they couldn't have been more accomodating! Rooms are spotless and comfortable. A great spot. Jim and Geraldine
We have stayed in numerous B&B’s plus hotels and Game Lodges around Europe, Africa and Asia and this is one of the only times I have rated a stay 10/10, in a word Superb. Everything was absolutely excellent and Ita the host was terrific, extremely friendly and helpful
The best B&B ever! Yes that’s how good this place is. We got a very big room with a spacious en-suite with an electric shower. The beds are ultra comfortable and there is plenty of storage place in the closet. What makes this B&B a winner is the hostess Ita. Ita is so warm, kind and helpful so you really feel welcome. There is an extensive breakfast menu so you can choose your cooked breakfast and there is also a buffet with youghurts, fruits and berries and you get a bread basket with fresh homemade scones and soda bread. It’s worth a detour if you are in the area just to stay at this B&B
We were booked at another B&B, but the owner was having health problems and referred us to Iorras House. Besides the clean, spacious room and bathroom and comfortable bed, the breakfast was excellent and the proprietress Ita was very helpful with advice and creating a mood of cheer. It's sometimes said that leaving something behind means you'd like to return. I forgot my jacket in the closet until we had arrived far away. Phoning Iorras House, I asked to pay for their time and postage to mail it on. Mr. Connolly greeted this proposal with as much enthusiasm as if I'd tried to get him to ask the local priest to endorse a den of iniquity. Firmly declining any payment, he took down my future address, and when I arrived there my jacket awaited. (I did have to extract it from the most thorough protective packing I'd ever seen, though!) Ireland's best ambassadors of sympathy and cheer!…
Me and my partner stayed her on a Friday evening whilst passing through for work trip on the way to letterkenny. We were late arriving but Etta was very accommodating. From the delicious cake and teapot tea to the home cooked breakfast in the morning nothing was touch trouble. The beds were really comfy. The room was well equipt the location was super peaceful and the entire place was immaculate. Would highly recommend for a few days stay. W.b years grave a little down the road and the location was superb for sightseeing Sligo.we will be back for a holiday next time
All the wonderful praises of the Iorras bed and breakfast were found to be true. The room was spacious and airy , the bathroom clean and well equipped, the breakfast delicious, all in all a wonderful experience. Thank you, Ita for your gracious hospitality. Jorma and Helena
This is a superb b & b run by Eta and Gerry. We arrived at tea time and were greated by Gerry who showed us to our lovely clean room. He then give us tea and home made cake which was delicious. The next morning we were served a lovely breakfast with fresh fruit, cereals, yogurts, and hot breakfast. Eta is a dab hand at making homemade wheaten bread and scones. This is a top notch place to stay near Rosses Point. Highly recommended.
Stayed here for one night in July and I would really recommend it. Rooms were really nice, carpet seemed brand new and bathroom was very modern. The next morning we had a big breakfast with Huge pots of tea and coffee. I love a multiples cups of tea so was delighted to see this. Hosts were very nice and friendly throughout our visit.
Ita Connelly was a most wonderful host. Upon arrival we were offered tea and sweets. Don't say no. The scones were the best we had in Ireland and the nut bread was incredible. Our room was a good size and nicely appointed. The shower had plenty of hot water and good pressure. The house is meticulously maintained and decorated beautifully. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choices and some more of those great scones and nut bread. Over breakfast Ita asked our plans for the day and offered some sightseeing suggestions which turned out to be perfect, as did her dinner suggestions from the previous night. Iorras is conveniently located to both Sligo and Rosses Point, only a few minutes drive to each on an easily traveled road. Our only regret is that we only had three nights to stay here.…
Iorras B&B is a lovely place with good-sized rooms and a convenient location. Ita, our host, was gracious and responsive, and she provided us with some very helpful travel advice. Breakfast was excellent. Secure off-street parking is provided. Our only complaint--a very mild one--is that the house is located on a fairly busy street, and our room was on the street side, so traffic noise was quite evident during the afternoon and evening. But the traffic was minimal at night, so we were able to get a good night's sleep. We would definitely stay at Iorras B&B again in the future.
