Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Golfing weekend in Sligo. This bed and breakfast was perfect for our group very central to pubs and restaurants, had parking too which was great. Owners were very friendly and welcoming they go out of their way to make you feel at home there. The rooms are clean and beds comfortable. Gives a good breakfast in the morning pleanty of everything teas coffee bread and the all important full Irish freshly cooked. I would definitely return here if going back to Sligo espically for a trip like this.

We were going to Sligo to go to attend a concert which was cancelled that morning When I rang to explain that with the concert being cancelled last minute and that we wouldn't be travelling We offered to pay some or all of the room rate but they werent having any of it they were so accomdating and understanding. They are very personable and professional to deal with, and hope that the Rearranged date for the concert is at weekend so we can stay there.

I asked for quiet room at the back and that was exactly what I got. So I slept well in the week that I spent here. I felt safe as it was very covid friendly and Liam always had his mask on. He gave me some large glass bottles of water which was nice as I didn't have buy as many plastic bottles of water. B and B was very reasonably priced and I even got a continental breakfast when I didn't request a fry. Location is excellent as while it is in the town, it is near edge of town and not too near outside dining noise etc. I found B and B clean and owners very friendly.

My wife and I stayed here for 4 days in June of 2014 (I’m a little slow with reviews). Liam and Geraldine were like family, they went out of their way when we had needs, and gave us fabulous advice on where to go and what to do. When I went back to my room at night I felt like I was going home to my house. On day 3 my wife fell ill. Geraldine cooked special meals to fit her wants and desires. They were both outstanding hosts. We travel quite extensively and have never felt more at home anywhere then in this B&B in Sligo.

This is a gritty, urban spot, right on a city street a couple of blocks away from the central party/bar zone. At first glance, the neighborhood can be a bit off-putting (the "Thai Massage" parlor across the street made us uncomfortable until we realized it was no longer in business), but in general it turned out to be a good stay. Our hosts were extremely gracious, and they serve a grand breakfast. They were very helpful in assisting us with navigation in the city, which is quite walkable and very lovely. Accessibility note: the rooms are all up at least one flight of stairs, and there is no lift. We were able to manage but wheelchair users should look elsewhere. We were a bit perturbed to find "no alcohol on premises" included in the list of rules of the property. One member of our party enjoys an after-dinner beer while watching television, and was offended by this restriction. It would be helpful if the B&B communicated this restriction to potential guests ahead of time, either on their website or by email. This is the reason for a four-star review instead of five stars.

Hi Oldcodger563, many thanks for your detailed review, and your valued opinion, of your visit to Sligo Town and our B&B. We are delighted to learn of your "good Stay" and "grand breakfast" and your happiness with our service The Thai Massage Parlor does not enhance the first impression of a visit to our street, but from our viewpoint and customers that have paid a visit to the parlor, their experience was genuinely a pleasant visit, with no EXTRAS !! "No alcohol on premises" rule, stems from a long history of being in business, in the accommodation trade. We are trying to discourage alcohol consumption, in the bedrooms, because in a lot of cases, it turns into a party, involving loud voices, singing, dancing and general bad behaviour, resulting in other paying guests having a bad night. That may not have happened in your case, but how can we make different rules for different guests ? Thank you for staying with us, and the four star review. Liam and Ger

Great B&B! Liam the owner was very nice, showed us our room and ensured that it was ok for us for our stay. We had an en suite room, however the shared bathrooms appeared to be very clean. There is free parking in the back, however, beware they lock the gate when the businesses behind the B&B close so you are unable to park or get your car out after those hours. This was ok for us because we were not planning to drive anywhere. There is breakfast served in the morning, however we did not eat due to waking up late. Liam did offer us coffee or tea even after the breakfast hours were over.

Location is good, building and rooms are old, got a cheap room but I wouldn't pay for some of the other rooms which weren't too far off hotel prices. Checkout time is advertised as 11am-1pm but I got a knock on the door before noon asking would I be leaving soon? Fair enough next guests might have asked to check into my room early. On Checking out I was accused of having an extra guest which was untrue so I told him to check the CCTV as it would clearly show I stayed alone. I think that was unprofessional and rude considering they should have checked the CCTV properly before making a false accusation?

Hi Darren, I apologize if I appeared to be rude, there is no excuse for being rude to paying guests. You reserved a twin room, sharing a bathroom, as a single. 1 x guest. On checking out, I inquired, if you had an extra guest overnight, and your reply was, "my girlfriend came in for a while, last night, to have food, but did not stay overnight, she went home to her parents house" So it was not a false accusation. You requested, extra rubbish bags, to dispose of the large amount of waste you had in the room. There are clear signs, at the entrance, "RESIDENTS ONLY". I did not need to check cctv, as I could clearly hear two voices, from your room. Both beds in the room were used. Check out time is 11am to 1pm. It was closer to 12.30 when I knocked on your door, to inquire, what time you planned to check out. All other guests had checked out at that time.

Older building, but comfortable rooms, good beds and GREAT breakfast. My room overlooked the street but there was very little street noise. Was handy to center of town so we walked to pubs and restaurants.
