Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.

Many guests commend Tullamore Court Hotel for its spotless cleanliness and central location, which offers convenient access to the town center and nearby attractions. While the spa and pool receive positive mentions, the atmosphere draws mixed reactions, with praise for room comfort and spa ambiance but criticism for an uninviting bar and outdated decor. The hotel's value and service quality vary according to visitors, with some finding it reasonably priced and well-serviced, and others expressing disappointment. Room updates and noise issues have been noted, although the comfortable beds are often appreciated.

What a gem of a place. We stayed in the suite and it was gorgeous. But it was the staff and service of the place that really made it.. Late checkout for 25 euro!! Was brilliant added bonus. Kayleen was so helpful with a query we had.. Maggie in the restaurant was so lovely.. Hotel was spotless.. Food was gorgeous.. 16.50 for a Sunday dinner!!! Young lad in breakfast area was so friendly. Raging can't remember his name. Brilliant! We are definitely 100% coming back.. Thank you for the best staff ever!

The new decor is fabulous. The receptionist who checked us in (liz) was very helpful, efficient and friendly. The house keeping staff had our rooms lovely, the bowl of fruit I'd ordered for my son for his 18th was accompanied by a gorgeous plate of macarons which we really appreciated! In the evening a member of housekeeping called to check everything was ok which I thought was a lovely touch.
The bar staff had been very accommodating by letting me book a table during the week even though there was a concert on and while we were there, although they were very busy, they were all very attentive and looked after us very well. A group of staff came out with the birthday cake, all singing enthusiastically!! It highlighted how professionally they all are, and they look very smart in the uniforms. The next morning the lady in the leisure center was so kind and friendly and again very helpful with the kids (turning on the water features every time the kids gave her a wave!). The swimming pool is a lovely area. Breakfast was delicious, the pancake machine was a huge hit! We had a wonderful experience, exactly what we like when we visit a hotel. We will be back this year and we'll be recommending the tullamore court to anyone who'll listen!!!

Stayed here with family members including a 3 year old. Booked in March for June stay and was disappointed to find out when I contacted the hotel close to our time of travel that the pool was closed due to renovations. The hotel did arrange that we use the local leisure complex pool which was excellant but it was inconvenient compared to a pool onside. Otherwise the staff were very helpful and friendly with lots of good information given to us by David at reception on places to visit with a child. Definitely a chold friendly hotel and staff engaging with the child as well as adults. The bathrooms need a little attention due to water staining on toilets and whilst breakfast was very tasty we all would prefer the buffet style (understand this might be due to covid). We would stay here again.

My wife and myself were looking forward to weekend break to remind ourselves what its like to have a meal out in a restaurant again after the year and half of lockdowns !We usually book stays away in 4* hotels and expect everything to be 4 * quality . I have reviewed a lot of 4* hotels over the years , but this was the first time I actually returned food in the restaurant , as it was just not up to standard , full stop. the basic is the food must be hot, and unfortunately my soup was barely Warm, and the Mash accompanying my steak wasn't any better. I wasn't the only person that returned food to the kitchen that evening as I witnessed others doing likewise. I felt sorry for Ciara the lovely waitress who gave us excellent service, as she was on the frontline having to deal with this , whilst the real people in the kitchen responsible hid behind the scenes. It wasn't the start of the weekend I was expecting and to be honest if we had other options of indoor dining , we would not have eaten there the second night. I did register my complaint with the duty Manager that evening , who was very apologetic , and in fairness to the management of the hotel discounted my meal bill when checking out on the Sunday. I like to balance the review with our experience of the second night dining, which was a lovely experience, with lovely food , and the flourless chocolate cake was the show stealer over both nights. All the staff at the hotel were very pleasant and efficient, and the breakfast on both mornings was efficiently served to our table and was also quite nice . the room Decor was quite dated in comparison to other hotels and needs updating. I wasn't too pleased that two days before we head down , that we were informed the Pool was being renovated and wouldn't be available during our stay, with the length of the lockdown and time on their hands , I would certainly have thought any such renovations would have been completed before reopening !. It was suggested that if we wanted to swim , they had arrangement with the local swimming pool down the road which could be arranged, I certainly wasn't that desperate for a swim, and would have liked all the facilities available at the hotel as advertised, or indeed given more notice in advance so I could make alternative arrangements if I chose to do so. Overall everything was just OK for a 4*, nothing special , and nothing that would want me to book again in a hurry.

Check in was pleasant & simple with a very helpful receptionist.

Rooms in general were clean, no issues with the bed or tables within.
Shower/bath had hairs on the floor of it. The Shower curtain sticks to you as you shower as there is a draft when the shower is turned on, very unpleasant experience. There was also no Hair wash / body wash left in the bottle for a shower (we had brought our own anyway).

The changing rooms for pool are rotating every 2 hours (I believe) between being for men or for women as the woman’s changing rooms are being renovated. So be prepared to walk through the hotel wet or get changed in the walk way between pool & reception.

Dirty water glasses in Resteraunt. Dirty jugs. Guinness glass had scum marks on it.

Food was awful, overcooked salmon & chicken (separate dishes). Turned us off ordering desert.

Ciara the waitress was nice & attentive in the bar but the bar was severely under staffed.

Very hard to sleep with loud live music until 12am & children running up and down the corridors at night & in the morning. The walls are paper thin so could hear everything.

There was a queue for breakfast, nothing major only 5 - 10 minute wait when tables were available.
Breakfast was plain & simple. Average breakfast(sausage, rasher, pudding, eggs etc.), wide selection of cereals but our choices were going stale & there was no white bread two times we went to get bread.

Karen & Eoghan were great at clearing and bringing us to our table at breakfast, Very attentive.

Check out was fast & easy.

This is definitely not a 4 star hotel. While waiting to be checked in I grew a beard. The lady on check in told us nothing of where anything was or dining times.
The rooms are very dated and a bit drab. The bathroom had a bath with a shower curtain and a soap dispenser and nothing else. In fact the shower dispenser was empty. For an elderly person it’s a high bath for climbing in and out of so I wouldn’t recommend it. The bed was comfortable and room had plenty of storage. It was incredible noisy in the early hours of the morning with doors slamming and people jarred singing and shouting very loudly.
We were booked in to the restaurant for 6.45, staff didn’t know that reception staff had put a cake in the fridge or that we’d left in balloons. We finally got it sorted. Food and wine was lovely. The restaurant staff were very pleasant and courteous. We had a lovely evening and night here.
Breakfast the morning after was nice, food wasn’t very hot and very slow at filling up the hotplates. A nice breakfast though.
I didn’t visit the gym but I was in the pool with the grandkids and we’d a good time. The showers weren’t the best, a bit grubby looking. Plenty of lockers.
I had a lovely night here with my family but to be honest there are far nicer hotels out there for the price, €300 for a room. Included was a 2 course meal and breakfast. If you’re going to charge these high rates for a room then you definitely need to give the place a major facelift.
All in all I’d a good night with my family but would I visit again then I’d have to say no. A bit of music would have been nice for a Saturday night in the bar.

We arrived at the hotel and having booked interconnecting rooms, the key to one room wouldn't work and the doors interconnecting the rooms were locked. After many times asking reception and housekeeping the doors were finally unlocked.

After going for a light snack in the bar, we had to queue for 10mins and then the service was awful. I asked for scones and got a spoon, the kids pepperoni pizza was too spicy for them, asked for a jug of blackcurrant and didn't receive enough glasses for us all. After asking on numerous occasions I ended up sharing my daughters drink.

My husband was still hungry after ordering the steak, which was not cheap. He ended up eating my chips too. Another evening meal we got my 3 year old kids portion was bigger than my husbands portion. This was noted with staff and absolutely nothing was done about it. He asked for extra spuds and veg and the servers didn't even look at our table after.

Breakfast was awful. I had to ask for everything two or three times. Tea and orange juice was ordered when we arrived and took 40mins to get to our table.

The good thing was the kids club, the kids really loved it.

It wasn't a cheap stay and we won't be staying again as value for our money most definitely was not had.

We visited for my brothers 40th Friday and Saturday night. When we arrived the hotel is adhering to all covid regulations. Indoor tables for 6 people. The manager in the bar a lovely lady moved all of our family to a separate section to ensure we were all separate from other diners and could still sit in tables of 6 together. We had the same section on Saturday where Ryan and Nel were so efficient friendly and helpful. The staff make this lovely hotel a much better stay. Breakfast was arranged for us by Liz in reception who was a great laugh. The food was amazing poached eggs and avocado on sourdough bread for breakfast was so nice. The dinner selection is quite limited but food was lovely and not too expensive. 2 courses €27.50. Our room was one of the older rooms but spotless clean. The staff are outstanding and I will definitely visit again and highly recommend this hotel

I stayed for 3 nights over New Year along with 3 other families there were 6 children and 4 adults between us. We had all meals during that time in the hotel food was fabulous, service amazing the staff were very helpful and courteous. With special mention to waitress Ciara Gallagher who really made an extra effort when we were celebrating my 18year old's birthday and made our celebrations more special.
Pool area was lovely and well managed with adherence to Covid guidelines.
Family room was spacious and level of cleanliness good only minor issue was how hot bedroom was although I had windows open and heating off does make me question what a summer stay would be like! Overall though really enjoyed my stay.

Due to current covid guidelines there was no literature in the room ref leisure centre or local info, But the lady at reception was friendly and very helpful. Food was served fast, great when your feeding a hungry bunch and also on limited covid time. We will definitely visit again.
