I would like to start out with that this hotel is very nice. Not quite four stars, but considering what else is in the area, I'll go with that. 1. Check-in (okay) we were ignored until we made ourselves more noticeable. 2. we were told we could walk or bike to the Tullamore Dew Distillery (Way Wrong) don't try it. 3. We ate dinner in the restaurant, and we had to wait 5 minutes for the hostess to approach us after we entered. We had to ask who our server was. 4. We had to ask for additional water, from a different server, ours just kept wandering around the room. 5. The bar had 5 people behind it looking at you like you were bothering them. And, good luck getting a drink. They wander away as you approach. 6. We waited 35 minutes after our meal and had to ask 3 times if "I can pay someone". Never got my bill, so I left without paying. I did go to the desk and told them to add it to my room bill. Then 20 minutes after that, I got a call asking if I was the one who walked out without paying. I told them I was and the desk was aware of it. No one told the restaurant staff. 7. There was a concert there that night and we were not informed upon booking. So noise and up most of the night. In Summary, if it is the last resort, go ahead but I'd consider different accommodations in Tullamore. And, would offer to come and train the staff on basic courtesy if they'd let me. (free of charge)! The only highlight was the service we received from David. He should be commended and should be the norm, not the exception.

Room Tip: Avoid this hotel, unless you have no choice. The service is horrible.

Stayed here for two nights, as it was the host hotel for an AGM we attended as publicans. Room was nice and comfortable, and the food was great, especially the breakfast buffet. As Americans, we thoroughly enjoyed the fried eggs (over medium) and the streaky, crispy bacon (not to worry, they also had rashers, sausage and scrambled eggs). Also smoothies and even pickled fish. The soup at dinner was also outstanding. Definitely recommend.

This is definitely not a 4 star hotel. While waiting to be checked in I grew a beard. The lady on check in told us nothing of where anything was or dining times. The rooms are very dated and a bit drab. The bathroom had a bath with a shower curtain and a soap dispenser and nothing else. In fact the shower dispenser was empty. For an elderly person it’s a high bath for climbing in and out of so I wouldn’t recommend it. The bed was comfortable and room had plenty of storage. It was incredible noisy in the early hours of the morning with doors slamming and people jarred singing and shouting very loudly. We were booked in to the restaurant for 6.45, staff didn’t know that reception staff had put a cake in the fridge or that we’d left in balloons. We finally got it sorted. Food and wine was lovely. The restaurant staff were very pleasant and courteous. We had a lovely evening and night here. Breakfast the morning after was nice, food wasn’t very hot and very slow at filling up the hotplates. A nice breakfast though. I didn’t visit the gym but I was in the pool with the grandkids and we’d a good time. The showers weren’t the best, a bit grubby looking. Plenty of lockers. I had a lovely night here with my family but to be honest there are far nicer hotels out there for the price, €300 for a room. Included was a 2 course meal and breakfast. If you’re going to charge these high rates for a room then you definitely need to give the place a major facelift. All in all I’d a good night with my family but would I visit again then I’d have to say no. A bit of music would have been nice for a Saturday night in the bar.

Room Tip: Bring your own soap and shampoo as the stuff in the soap dispenser isn’t great

The food was surprisingly very good for a hotel. The staff although young were efficient and friendly. The one thing I would say is that they did not fully stock the coffe in the bedroom when we arrived but apart from that I appreciated the stay.

Jacuzzi bath and sound system were a great addition to the room. Very comfortable bed too. We enjoyed a pre-dinner cocktail in the bar and nice food in the restaurant. Great location for strolling into Tullamore for a browse in the shops. Breakfast was also delicious Overall a nice break and we would return.
