I like this hotel, and we usually stay here when we are working in monaghan. My disappointment will sound petty, but its important to feedback, whether its good or bad. The rooms are excellent , the hotel is lovely but my issue is with my dining experience this evening. Weve just arrived this evening, and went straight in to the bar for food. We are seasoned travellers, and stay in hotels all over Ireland at least 3 days a week. I ordered the chicken supreme, and I also asked was there veg with it, and was told yes, but when it arrived with no veg I was told then that I would have to order it at an extra price. For me, this is mean. I think 19euro for a breast of chicken on a small blob of mash is miserable and cheeky. Anywhere else in Ireland you would have got veg included. I relayed my disappointment to the staff. While I can see this annoyance as been perceived as petty, and I understand prices have risen across the country, after a long hard physical days work, this meal was slightly larger than a starter course. I'm already looking at eating elsewhere tomorrow evening in monaghan town…
Lovely hotel nice clean twin rooms with lovely views , staff were very friendly and helpful . Bar and restaurant were nice and food was quickly served We used the pool every day which was nice and warm and clean . Highly recommend and would stay there again
Stayed for one night for the bank holiday, we chose the evening meal and bed and breakfast option. The room and hotel as a whole was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the food at the evening meal was delicious, the steak sandwich in particular was lovely. Enjoyed our stay and would stay again!
A huge thank you to Nicola, Laura, Orla, Barbara and the rest of the team for the most wonderful wedding. You all couldn’t have done anymore to support and make our day anymore special. Those little touches like all the staff knowing our names, the breakfast in the room the morning after, going the extra mile for our friends and family’s children to meet their needs. You all made the process of booking our wedding so easy. To live in England and getting married in Ireland was a slight worry especially through covid. You put our worries at ease, moved our wedding with ease and looked after the finer details when we weren’t able to travel over. All our guests commented on how excellent the service, food and rooms were. We can’t recommend the Four Seasons Monaghan enough to book your wedding, stay over or function. Jez & Noèle…
We spent 2 nights at Easter weekend in hotel travelling as a couple. At check in we were not given our dinner vouchers which was supposed to be included. We were not asked for payment at the time but the receptionist later rang our room insisting we came back down to pay (not sure what this was about). Also, the same person at reception charged my card twice for a transaction which needed to rectified upon check out. In addition, our drinks which we paid for were also added to the room bill. Our room was a standard double however it could only be loosely described as such, the room and bed were very small and not terribly comfortable. The room was clean and bathroom was clean but nothing special or notably at all. The hotels dinner menu is very limited with only a few options for starters, mains and desserts all of which could be found in a pub serving food without the hotel price tag. We had 3 courses and it was fine but again not memorable in any way. The staff were very friendly and service was quick. We had dinner elsewhere in town on our second night - much better options available! Breakfast was not great either- toast is served already toasted from under the grill leaving it rock hard and inedible. As a person with an oil allergy I asked which foods were not cooked in oil and my only option was a poached egg and beans. The cereal and fruit section was nice but again limited. The best part of this visit was the hotels leisure centre- lovely facilities with a great steam and sauna. Overall, I wouldn’t book this hotel again as there are better options in Monaghan town.…
Stayed in Four Seasons in Monaghan for 2 nights b&b. Checked in about 4pm Sunday (Very smooth). Double room had signs of wear and tear as you would expect. Dropped bag's and went for a walk around. There was a wedding reception taking place. Spoke with hotel reception about running a tab during our visit ( no problem). Had a few drinks and went into town to meet some friends. Got back about 10pm and stopped off in the hotel bar for a nightcap. Our room was on the ground floor about halfway up the corridor. Our sleep was a bit unsettled as some noise which I presumed were wedding guests passing the room. Anyway, got through the night. Breakfast next morning was good. Something for everyone ( and plentiful). Headed into town for the day. Returned in the afternoon to find there was another wedding. Chilled out in our room and then went to the restaurant for some food. Seated quickly (without booking) which was appreciated. At the table we were advised there may be a wait. We didn't mind as we had no plans. Food was nice. Staff very attentive and friendly. Nice meal followed by a couple of drinks in the bar. Went to our room about 10pm....A lot of noise from wedding guests ( much louder than the previous evening) from about 3 am. Absolute NIGHTMARE at 4.04am Several people screaming and shouting from what seemed outside our door. No way we were getting involved. This went on for about a half hour. Eventually quietened down, until about 5.30, when we heard a door being knocked and knocked and (you guessed it ) and knocked. Whoever was inside was clearly have a better nights rest than anyone else. However, when the beast did arise the shouting started all over again. At some stage it must have stopped as when we got up for breakfast at 7.30 (absolutely shattered) there was a welcomed silence. Went to the restaurant for breakfast ( as good as yesterday) and then a morning walk. Weather was beautiful. Showered, packed up and checked out. When asked if our stay was ok I did not give any negative feedback as I did not have the time to spend talking to reception about the previous evening whereas nothing will have changed as far as the day in front of me was concerned. I believe that " if it doesn't add value then don't spend time on it". Overall we enjoyed our stay and if the wedding guest incidents were absent, our sleep would not have been disturbed and our stay even more enjoyable. ADVICE: ( For hotel) I appreciate that wedding guests will be late back to their rooms and some may even have enjoyed a few tipples during their time at the wedding, however, other hotel guests should in no way have their sleep disturbed. (No excuses). I do not have experience of the hospitality industry but I do have common sense. Filter the guests attending late night functions and allocate their accomodations accordingly. Do not have them passing the bedrooms of other guests. All said, we may return in the future but will definitely request a room in a quiet part or the hotel. Kind regards, Adrian…

Both my husband and myself throughly enjoyed our stay at The Four Seasons Hotel. Our room was spacious, clean and very welcoming. The bed was very comfortable as were the pillows. Bathroom had a large shower with plenty of hot water. Dining in the hotel was excellent and full of flavour. My husband had fish and chips whilst I had Thai Green curry and we both throughly enjoyed our meals. Breakfast was also lovely and again full of flavour. Staff were welcoming, friendly, efficient and respectful. I look forward to visiting again.
