Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

we spent a night here on our cycle trip. The people are very friendly. the rooms were good. The breakfast was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is a lovely lounge downstairs to watch TV or read a book.

My wife and I stayed five nights in Boffin Lodge on our trip to Westport. It is a dog friendly hotel so you have to take it in turn for breakfast. Very cosy room and large double bed for the three of us! Short walk up the hill and over into town (15 minutes). I recommend McCarthy’s pub on the way in - old fashioned proper Irish pub. B and B is close to the Quay area of Westport which is well worth a visit. Impressive breakfast with the Boxty, bacon with honey so good I had it three times. Friendly service throughout our stay in particular from the breakfast staff and Patrica who wanted to swap her dog for ours! Highly recommend Boffin Lodge and would stay here again in the future.

The room was not serviced during a 5 day stay. The bed was never made , glasses never replaced The food was ok but one morning there was a fruit fly infestation in and on the food. I had to pay for double occupancy when I am a single person. The staff were friendly but I won t stop there again

The staff was lovely and the room was clean and comfortable. Some of the reviews complain about the out-datedness of the bathrooms, but honestly that adds to the charm. It's well located near the coast in one direction and the cute town of Westport in the other direction - both walkable. The breakfast was absolutely delicious. You had several hot menu items to choose from and fruit, yogurt and pastries as well. Great little B&B with friendly Irish hospitality.

Great place to stay, real home from home, beautiful rooms, well furnished and beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was superb, great quality food cooked fresh. Highly recommended. Very clean throughout and helpful staff, quiet location and free parking right outside. Rooms were very spacious, even had a mini fridge. Flat screen TV with loads of channels, very reasonable price, great value for money, the best B&B I had this trip !

Stayed 2 nights at this guest house. Triple room was large and very comfortable. Nice breakfast served each morning. Staff very welcoming and friendly. The rate for the room each night was a bit high for a guest house. 20 minute walk to the town centre. Under 15 minute drive to Croagh Patrick. 6 minute drive Westport House. Car parking available but limited spaces.

This property is really well located just a short 10-15 leisurely walk out of the town centre. The double room we stayed in during our August visit was first class with a good sized private bathroom, comfortable bed & a high level of cleanliness & appointment. Each morning we had a superb breakfast prepared by the owner(a very busy man)!! Can’t recommend this superb guesthouse enough. Brilliant stay & enjoyed it so much we booked for start of September to bring parents down for a short break too!!!

We stayed for two nights over a weekend. Greeted by a lad in track suit bottoms. Really overpriced for sub standard accommodation. Double bed was small and rock hard - pillows ditto. Bathroom so dated and a tad smelly - shower was a low power triton with slow to drain plughole. Reeks of the worst of 1980’s b&b Breakfast truly appalling Staff clearly not trained in covid etiquette. Sad experience of Irelands rip off culture at its best

I have read a lot of negative reviews on here about Boffin, quite frankly they should be ignored!! This is a 3 Star B&B not a 5 Star luxury hotel which some are expecting. We used Boffin as a administration stop over during our week of camping. From the start, the telephone booking at last minute was efficient and quick(The guy was very helpful), arrival was swift and prompt, free parking and WiFi, we have been camping for 3 days - and the staff helped us clean our clothes for our next 3 days camping (Cannot thank you enough for this), our dog was catered for, breakfast was great and lots of options with a young guy and girl serving us who were very polite and helpful, bed was very comfortable, bathroom yes looks tired and dated BUT it’s a good shower and everything works well - everything you need for a comfortable night at a very DECENT price! Thank you again Boffin and if I’m back in Westport I will be booking in 😀
