I stayed here this week for the first time since lockdown.

Protective screens / not unsightly and masks at the reception sanitiser etc were all very safe and reassuring.

Checked in and on the bedroom door a sticker / seal reassuring me that the room had been adequately cleaned with no one entering since cleaning.

Room service even arrived with breakfast and did not enter the room, merely the lady knocked and offered up the food service on a trestle table at the door ( to be taken inside by the resident ).

With an unseen virus it’s more important that your hotel fill you with confidence and that was very evident.

Even the receptionist gave an information sheet detailing all the safety precautions in place.

The hotel explain that the staff have undergone up to date training in safety, customer service with safety and all that is associated with social distancing etc.

Everyone entering the restaurant ( I was sat by the entrance) had their contact details taken upon entry. This is one thing I heard off but did not witness elsewhere recently.

Tables were safely at the recommend safe distance and not used for a period of time after each customer.

I was extremely impressed yet again.

I was served by the lady Monicka in plaza bar / restaurant and she was very reassuring and a pleasure to deal with.

I would fully recommend this hotel and the rest of their hotel group around Westport as they set a very high standard on all fronts.

I will not be at a nervous next visit.

Myself and my husband spent 2 nights at the Westport Plaza. We booked the morning of arrival and the receptionist was very friendly and helpful with advising on booking dinner for that evening and with planning our activities for the weekend. On arrival check in was very friendly and our room had a sealed sanitised sticker on the door that gives guests the knowledge that once the room was cleaned and sanitised no other person could enter. We had dinner in the restaurant and the second night we ate in the bar. Both nights the food was excellent as was the choice of wines and drinks. Service was friendly and attentive. Breakfast was also great. This was our first break in Ireland since restrictions were lifted and we will definitely be booking again as all guidelines were abided and we always felt very comfortable. A big thank you to all your hardworking and very thoughtful and friendly staff👏👏

We stayed on a golden years package of 5 nights B&B with four dinners. Having looked at a number of hotels we wanted a relaxing break which was safe too with Covid.

Check in was quick and efficient with lots of safety measures. The receptionist quickly took us through everything we needed to know.

Rooms - we stayed in room 429 which was very spacious with two balconies overlooking the court yard between the hotels. It was directly above the Plaza bar and car park entrance but given everything it was very quiet.

Cleaning Covid No one enters your room unless you specifically request a clean. Each day we had a Landry bag left outside our door. It contained fresh towels, toiletries, water teas coffee etc. If we needed anything else the cleaning staff were fantastic and quick to help we simply left towels and rubbish outside the door

We wore masks walking about the hotel except when seated and there was plenty of hand sanitizer everywhere from the car park up

Food. Firstly breakfast which was excellent and lots of choices. You are seated firstly then follow one way system to order and collect juice cereals fruit toast etc staff then bring your cooked food. All fast efficient and fabulous food

Dinner we ate 4 nights 3 courses with large potions. Food was tasty and really delicious I loved the prawns sea bass and steak sandwich my husband loved the Brie and ribs. Fab deserts too and a great wine list. Again really good measures in place

Spa and pool. I went for a relaxing package on the Monday Selene was great I really enjoyed my treatment and we used the pool twice. All well organised and clean

Overall the best thing about this hotel is the staff. No matter where we went or what we asked for we received very warming welcoming and accommodating staff. I could name some like Ivett and Kieran in the restaurant who served us most nights but there are so many lovely staff I simply can’t remember there names to add them here

I would highly recommend this hotel even more so now with Covid you won’t be disappointed. We had a fantastic time really relaxing break which we both needed so Thank you

I am just back from a 3 night stay with friends and family. I upgraded to the 'Gold Experience' package as I was enticed by the offer of a balcony "overlooking the beautifully landscaped rooftop garden or courtyard." What I got was a room (535) overlooking the hotel dumping ground and carpark, the balcony was large enough for 1 person to stand on, no room for a chair. The room was above the restaurant kitchen and at certain times of the day the room stank really badly of cooking. I had to get air freshner from housekeeping and could not open the 'balcony' door during cooking times. I paid €40 per night for this 'Experience', friend's paid much less and stayed in larger, better smelling rooms. Whats more PLEASE check and clean the shower, there is black gunk around the bottom of the glass, I have never seen anything so disgusting in my life. Is this your overflow room? I would suggest using it as a storage for housekeeping, please do not sell this room to any paying customer again. I am frankly insulted that this was the room I paid for.

I'll just mention that the staff are a credit to this hotel, very helpful and friendly. I would like to mention Shilpa in the spa, an excellent therapist.

We stayed here on a trip to Westport during September and absolutely loved it.

From the moment you step in to the reception area the place feels glamorous and comfortable. Staff at check in were welcoming, friendly and efficient.

The room itself was huge, the bathroom was the size of a small nightclub dancefloor! Plenty of space, comfy bed, with lovely soft bedlinen, plenty of wardrobe and hanger space,a fridge,a large jacuzzi bathtub and good sized shower area. Also lovely, large bottles of complimentary bath oil, shower gel, handwash and shampoo in the bathroom. A hairdryer, iron and ironing board were also in the room.

For Euro 5 each per day we ordered room service breakfast up to the room and it was well worth the small extra charge not to have to get dressed and go downstairs. Also there was loads - we were full until dinner each evening!

All in all I would highly recommend this hotel and we will definitely be back.

We spent a relaxing three nights in the Westport Plaza in the middle of September to celebrate a wedding anniversary and felt really welcomed and well looked after. The staff did an amazing job keeping all the areas of the hotel clean and sanitised. No staff entered our room during our visit but instead fresh towels, loo rolls etc were left outside our door each day. We enjoyed a great meal in Covey’s restaurant on the night of our arrival and the breakfast was well managed so that you never felt you were too close to other guests. Being able to book a time for the gym and swimming pool meant that we could enjoy exercising in a space / pool that wasn’t busy ...reassuring in these difficult times. Thanks to all the staff for their efforts ...we’ll be back!

My husband and I joined with my brother and sister in law to celebrate a birthday . The hotel was so clean and the attention to detail around Covid19 precautions were fantastic. Check in was done with social distancing and hand sanitisers everywhere, all staff were wearing masks, seal on entering bedroom and fresh towels left outside room daily in bag no one came into our room , we felt very safe. Food was delicious and the new restaurant Coveys was amazing has dinner in it on both nights . The staff as usual were very attentive and friendly a credit to management . We would like to thank the hotel for the complimentary chocolates and wine left in our room to celebrate my birthday a nice personal touch . We will definitely be making another return visit to this lovely hotel

Upgraded to the gold experience for a 3 night stay, we were immediately disappointed with the standard and size of the room for the extra price we paid. The room was not the same as the photo advertised on the website and was the same size as a standard hotel room with the sleeping area right beside the door offering little privacy and balcony we were promised was little more than a window box. The Netflix and YouTube as advertised did not work and ‘homemade delights from the kitchen’ were plastic wrapped chocolate chip muffins from Pallas foods in the limerick. Hairdryer in the room started smoking almost immediately upon use and is a fire hazard. Mini bar as advertised was empty.
However upon speaking to reception our issues were resolved promptly by (Boris/ Bruno?) who was extremely helpful and arranged for us to be moved to the penthouse suite for the next two nights as it was occupied on our first night.
Satisfied with this we agreed. However we were almost more disappointed with the second room. Although bigger, the decor was extremely dated with old leather couches and a pc and printer which did not work and seemed like an odd accessory to the room. The carpet was quite old and stained and again the tv in the living area did not work and was hanging precariously off the stand with sockets pulled out of the wall behind it. Mini bar was also not stocked and homemade delights consisted of the same chocolate chip muffins and handmade chocolates were out of date in December. lampshades were worn and clearly hadn’t been dusted in a while.
No chain on the doors of both rooms made it easy for housekeeping to barge in unannounced on two mornings.
On a positive note, room service was prompt and staff in Coveys restaurant were extremely friendly and accommodating, especially Kieran who was our server for the night.
Downstairs lobby, restaurant , staff and grounds of the hotel cannot be faulted however the actual rooms really let this hotel down, as we feel there was false advertising on the hotels part for the price we paid for our upgraded experience.

Just spent five nights, including dinner, bed and breakfast also the various activities provided within the Golden Years Festival Package. We have been staying here for the last sixteen years, initially at the Castlecourt. The hotel itself is very comfortable, as are the spacious and well equipped bedrooms where tea, coffee and milk replenishments were made available on a daily basis as were a plentiful supply of towels. With regards to the staff, we could highlight those specific individuals with whom we had first hand contact, however, every single member in each department certainly went far and beyond their duties to ensure that every request was met. We look forward to a return trip early next year.

Stayed here for three nights Monday - Thursday on a BB2D&SPA. Check in was quick and easy.

Room: We are newly engaged and had been upgraded to the platinum Lounge which was exceptional. It came with two small bottles of wine and some chocolate. A lovely touch was the Netflix TV as we used. The jacuzzi bath was a winner for us too! Each morning towels were left outside our room which was brilliant.

Food: We ate breakfast every morning and it was an absolutely amazing service each morning. The food was delicious and served very quick. We ate in the restaurant on the Monday night but unfortunately their system had been down and our meal took two hours to come and when it did come out it was only warm. We were so hungry at that point we chose to eat it and leave. However, the food was still amazing in taste. When I informed the waiter she kindly took our two drinks off our bill. We ate in the restaurant again on Wednesday and wow. The food and service was to die for!

Swimming pool: We availed is this one afternoon and really enjoyed it. Everything was clean and tidy.

Spa: We both went for a Swedish massage in the spa. It was absolutely lovely and we both really enjoyed it. It was a pity the tranquility spa was out of use due to Covid.

The hotel was equipped with all aspects to deal with Covid 19. Hand sanitisers on tables, advertisements stating the precautionary measures they were taking. It was fantastic.

Would love to come back when the Spa & pool is back open, it was a lovely trip away.

The Westport Plaza Hotel is an easy walk (less than 10 minutes walking distance) to the two stops for long distance buses traveling through Westport in both directions (Mill Street stops). The Train Station is about a twenty minute walk, very doable if no taxis are available (a taxi would take about five minutes).
