Amazing place to stay would highly recommend. The house and garden are so lovely. The room we stayed in had 2 large double beds , the room was so spacious and spotless. Breakfast was lovely , great choices. Dermot and Ann are great hosts. Would definitely stay here again, around 10 min walk to The Quay with a great selection of bars and restaurants..
We enjoyed our 2-night stay very much. Hospitable hosts, beautiful house, spacious room and delicious, abundant breakfasts made to order. What more? The beautiful garden and serene environment. The sitting room and solarium are pretty and comfortable. The Glendaran is fairly distant from town, so a vehicle is preferable for getting around. They are a bit sparing with the amenities such as tissues and soap but not a big deal.
Glenderan B&B is located off the beaten path in a quaint setting surrounded by beautiful gardens. The rooms are spacious and quiet. Anne made us a tasty authentic Irish breakfast to send us on our way!
Very quiet and nice situation. The hosts are very pleasant and cautious about all can desire. The rooms are splendidly furnished ...we had a big room for me and a splendid two beds bedroom for my children and baby boy . Quiet night in very confortable bed , and after a very complete breakfast, we left ....but I would have stayed a few days more with pleasure!
We wished we could have stayed longer. The room was big and comfy for the three of us. Ann served us a wonderful breakfast in the sunroom and was helpful in letting us know the outdoor things to do in Westport. We did climb to the the top of Croagh Patrick. On a side note, I loved all the artwork displayed in the house. Good luck on your upcoming climbs Ann! ~Tom, Corinne and Sierra (US/New York)
You can book the Glenderan on line, but frankly its better to call them in person. The rates are also better if you call them up directly. When we arrived we were taken to our room which was a huge family room with beds for all four of us (3 beds in total), a small but very nice bathroom and additional seating space. We slept very well. The B&B also has a guest lounge which we discovered the next day. The hosts are very friendly but a little on the impersonal side, almost a little shy perhaps. If you ask questions they are answered in a very helpful and friendly way (restaurants, places to visit type of questions), but little information is volunteered. So we were not told about the guest lounge until we asked about it. Breakfast is nice. It starts with cereal (so initially we thought that was it) but after the cereal, we were asked what we wanted for the main course, cooked breakfast or yougurt and fruit. Westport town center is quite a walk away, but you can walk over to the Quay area and get a drink or a meal. Thanks for having us.…
Georgous B&B in a lovely location , really quiet and peacefull . Dermot and Ann are so helpfull and pleasant. Breakfast was delicious and bedroom 6 very spacious and comfortable. The harbour is in walking distance where you can find coffee shops and restaurants .
We stayed at Glenderan for two nights and had a most enjoyable experience. The room was nicely appointed and of a good size with all the usual amenities. The shower had good pressure and plenty of hot water. Breakfast was wonderful and served in a sunroom. A nice way to start the day. If you are looking for a place in the middle of Westport this is not the spot for you. But if you are looking for a peaceful, beautiful location that is a short drive from Westport then Glenderan is perfect. Lovely grounds, immaculate house, welcoming hosts. Couldn't ask for more
Nice big room. Nice gardens. Parking provided. Poor tv quality and poor selection of channels, it lacked the basic ones even. Below average breakfast. Extremely expensive for the quality. Could be a lot better.
Visited Westport with my family in June staying two nights at Glenderan B&B. Anne was very friendly and a superb hostess! This location was ideal to visit the local sites. We especially enjoyed Matt Molloy's Pub and JJ O'Malley's in Westport.
