I have stayed at St Anthony’s many times and it is the perfect B&B to explore Westport from or else just sit by the log fire and chat to the very personable manager. The B&B is very central and located by the river.
We booked two rooms for our group's stay. First, it was easy to find using a GPS. Paul, our host, had his phone number on the door. We called and he appeared to check us in a few minutes later. Our rooms were both clean and neat. One issue was there was not light working in the bathroom in one room for our stay. Breakfast was very good. There were also two public rooms where folks could hang out as wanted. Very close to the main part of downtown Westport with lots of restaurants and shops. Parking on site was great to have also.
The old building has charm to it, and the room in the back was comfortable and quiet, although the view of the "butchered" trees" from the window was not pleasant.... it for one quiet night, it was fine.the bathroom needs some attention, as it's a bit tired....as it rained that night we took the car , and when we came back the parking gate was closed and we had no instructions on how to open the gate...luckily they have a 24 hr. On duty person who answered the door and told us how to get into the parking area. Breakfast was very good and the owner and staff were very friendly. It's a solid B&B for the price and the location is xlnt.
Arrived at St Anthony’s to find our room had been given away to someone else with the same first name. Paul told us to hold on a minute and came back to say that they had another room for us in the shed behind the main building that they had just finished renovating..Well my sister and I have never seen a more beautiful “shed”...Lovely living room, kitchen and new bathroom, big bedroom, with a patio..we were lucky enough to have a three night stay here..Breakfast was delicious..and Stephanie who took care of us every morning couldn’t have been nicer..A quick 5 minute walk to the clock in the center of Westport.. All the staff here very nice and helpful..
We (two couples) stayed in a adjoined building with one kingsize at ground floor and one on first floor, both with windows to the river. Good breakfast. Parking between the buildings on the site. Good walking distance to town.
Conveniently located a short walk from the town center, this lovely B&B features spotless, comfortable and spacious rooms along with two pleasant sitting rooms. There is also ample off-street parking. Our room, which faced the rear, was very quiet. A hearty hot breakfast, along with a generous, diverse cold buffet, was a great start to our day. The hosts are helpful and solicitous. Highly recommend.
I stayed one night here and was upstairs in the outbuilding. Big room on its own with all one needs. Side window was near the water and street. A little noisy, but I closed it and opened the bathroom window and it was comfortable. Wifi worked well there. Bathroom was on a special heater. Slight malfunction, but it was fixed. Breakfast was very nice as was the service. Only one thing- I could not get to the B& B with the Garmin; I then just used the street address. Good advice on the many restaurants in Westport.
Our room was facing the street and even with the window closed you could hear the traffic and loud talking from the pub patrons. There is wifi but only on the bottom floor which has no rooms to stay in. Food was good, staff pleasant but at night you enter through the closed gate, not locked, just closed and enter the house through an unlocked door. No one stays at the location, you are asked to call a number in case of an emergency. We got very little rest.
We had a wonderful stay at St. Anthony's Riverside B&B. The rooms were spacious and clean. The location is great. Our host gave us terrific suggestions of where to eat and what to do. He couldn't have been more helpful. The breakfasts were delicious.
Lovely period house with comfortable, clean, spacious room. Onsite parking. Friendly helpful staff. Delicious breakfasts, with range of choices. Within easy walking distance of the town centre. Pleasant garden to rear of house.Highly recommended
