Just back from a wonderful stay at the fabulous Castlecourt Hotel. Everything about this hotel is top-notch from the moment you walked in the door, it's warm ,friendly and inviting and the decor is just gorgeous and very well maintained throughout the hotel. Our room was a twin very spacious & immaculately clean every where.lt had a double and single bed. Beautiful white bedding & the pillows were lovely and fluffy. We had a bedside lamp and a reading lamp which was brilliant as my Mum loves to read, always a big plus for both of us. The bathroom was also fab, I would say it had been recently renovated to a very high standard a large spacious shower, it had a tropical shower head plus one you could take down. Great flush on the toilet. And another plus is a a super light for applying makeup over the bathroom sink.A lot of hotel s the lighting is very dim you nearly have to go outside. The breakfast is out of this world. Plenty of fresh fruit, nuts, homemade brown bread and everything is made fresh to order. Food is superb in any of the three restaurants and also in their sister hotel across the way Covey's restaurant in The Plaza Hotel just delicious and the price very reasonable too. You just couldn't fault this hotel for its value and quality in everything. They do special mega deals off peak season and great offers for the golden years. The leisure centre is absolutely fabulous with the temperature of the pool showers, jacuzzi ,and steamroom in the perfect temperature and in great working order. There is also nightly entertainment in the bar ,it's great you can leave your coat in the room. I can see now why my parents absolutely loved going to this magnificent family-run hotel for their holidays twice a year. Anne one of the owners is extremely friendly & efficient as with all the staff they make an excellent team.A lot of their staff have been there for donkey's years so that can only say one thing about the owners. Well done and congratulations on the consistent very high standard. Can't wait to return! My favourite hotel for quality and value.

This hotel has been decorated recently and it’s spotless with nothing out of place. Couldn’t stop admiring the decor - beautiful.
The staff are well trained and are extremely pleasant and helpful. We were two couples, staying two nights in early November with one dinner offer. Very impressed. Food was delicious for breakfast and dinner. Breakfast buffet area well set out and we had table service for tea/coffee and cooked breakfast. Looking forward to going back.

This luxury 4-star hotel is ideally located in Westport town, ensuring a good base for exploring local tourist attractions. Regrettably, from a wheelchair users’ perspective it was far from luxury due to numerous accessibility issues. As the Hotel Managers are now aware of the following issues, they have advised ‘corrective action will be taken’.

The accessible bedroom and elevator are at opposite ends of a long corridor with carpet. The accessible room consists of two double beds with a comfortable mattress topper, disappointingly a wheelchair is unable to fit next to these beds due to inadequate space. The key card wall slot is high and difficult to reach as access is blocked by a wardrobe. Bedroom carpet is difficult to wheel on. Wardrobe consists of both high and low level railings; and a safe completely out of reach.

The accessible bathroom is small and set at an incline from the bedroom. The bathroom light switch is very high. A small adjustable mirror is next to the sink, while a large mirror is out of view for wheelchair users. Wheel-in shower consists of a shower chair, reachable shower controls and removable shower head. Unfortunately, the shower area is not level with the bathroom floor, creating an uneven surface in an already limited space.

Six accessible parking bays are located in the Hotel courtyard, however this significantly fails in comparison to over 300 regular bays. Additional accessible bays are clearly needed, especially when the current bays were unavailable at any time during our two night stay.

We stayed at this hotel two nights as part of a tour package. The hotel is beautiful, as well as the rooms lovely. It was clean and the staff were very efficient in retreaving our groups luggage and checking us in quickly (27 of us). This was the first place we stayed with a shower only in the bathroom, which we loved over the tubs we had experienced at other locations. The room has great lighting with many options and the bed was very comfortable. The staff even accomidated our group for an early breakfast that enabled us to complete our planned tours as scheduled. The breakfast choices were delicious. It was a mix of buffet (colds and toasts) and ordering (hot selections). They were very timely in service. Our on-site dinner was excellent, with our server Jason being very friendly and willing to chat and help us with questions about different Irish lingo. The location was right on the edge of all the happenings in the villiage and we felt safe out at night walked the area. This was probably the best hotel during on our tour, which was not originally part of the itinerary (good choice CIE Tours).

Excellent in all respects. We had a superior room with a walk in shower. The room was spotless and the bathroom had all that could be desired for anyone with a disability. The food was of a very high standard, with an excellent range of choice. Most importantly though the staff were very attentive, sociable, efficient and caring. it would be churlish not to include everyone in this from the management to the remainder of the employees, but special mention must go to Murie in the bar, who could not have been kinder or more helpful.

Cosy friendly hotel in a central location.
Our room was spacious and clean, the beds very comfortable.
The breakfast buffet was not sumptuous, but you could order hot food separately. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
There was ample parking on the hotel premises, and there was also an underground car park; both were free.

My husband emailed ahead of our visit to let them know it was a special occasion and my bday, also asking if possible could we be placed in a room lower ground with a view, we were placed in a room 163 at the very far end of the hotel over looking the exit gate, extremely loud, no one mentioned r left a card r anything for occasion in the room which is fair enough I suppose.
Room was clean, we had a double bed and one single bed, the double bed consisted of two single mattresses placed together on a double base, which kept separating and was extremely uncomfortable, the remote for the tv was not working, we tried ringing reception for 45 mins r more with no reply, 8.30pm we decided to give the room service a go and placed our order, by 9.45 we rang back to see where the food was, to be told they where waiting on us to ring back as they forgot what room we were in, “but don’t worry your foods ready and waiting” 15 mins later a knock on door and the food was delivered, curry sauce had a thick skin over it, and the rest of the food was dried out rubbery extremely poor quality, obviously it was not ate.

We had a mini fridge with 2 bottles of water with no glasses, rang reception to be told glasses are provided when required to rooms, ok i ordered two glasses which took 1 hr 25 mins to arrive to our room. My husband walked to the other end of hotel to the bar for a glass and back again, had two drinks before the person arrived with glasses, bring your own toilet roll as only one is provided per stay.
We traveled 3 and a half hours to stay for a special occasion and were extremely disappointed. The spa is an extra charge which is not specified on booking, I was quoted £131 yet was charged £153 then on arrival was informed it’s £15 each to use the spa for 1 hr which needs to be booked.
Breakfast was a whole new for me, sat for 30 mins no one came to take our hot food order, we went to pour orange juice and each glass I lifted had lip stains on them, the trays where filthy with food crumbs and water. Hygiene needs a serious look at in the breakfast area it was so off putting, we checked out at 7.30 am
The Xmas trees were absolutely fab around the hotel.

Stayed for two nights recently. Check-in was fine except for the room which was booked as a superior but what we got turned out to be a standard room. The hotel layout is quite all over the place having been extended many times throughout its history but there were lifts and it wasn't too much hassle.

We did have to change rooms as there was a strong buffeting noise coming from the extract outside the bedroom window. Knowing we wouldn't have slept we asked to be moved which was no trouble at all to be fair. Once we were moved into another room at the front of the hotel all was well and where we discovered that the room we were moved to was actually a superior room with a 4 poster bed. The room itself was very comfortable and looked like it has been recently renovated. Bed was great. Had a nice sleep on both nights.

Ate at the hotel that evening in the Bistro which we both agreed was excellent along with the breakfast on both mornings. Staff were very engaging, helpful and friendly.

Would we return? Yes, for a deal!

We would have given the review 5 stars but the initial room allocation was poor and like most hotels in Ireland now it was very expensive. We didn't use the greater facilities as we used Croagh Patrick for that 😁🚶🏼🚶🏼‍♀️🏔️

Great hotel. Friendly staff and food was great. Beds were huge! Rooms were spotless. On second night of our stay we hardly slept as there was noise quiet late. It sounded like chairs being dragged which puzzled us as rooms have carpets. We were in room 110 and worked out it was over the bar and possibly what we were hearing was the cleaners moving chairs to clean or bar staff tidying up. We mentioned it to reception next morning and she seemed a little surprised but said she would check it out. She offered immediately to move us to another room but we said it wasn't necessary as we only had one more night. There was no noise that night and when we were checking out same girl was on desk and asked if all was ok. Really enjoyed the stay and we had dinner in Portos the last night and it was amazing. Had the brie and mushroom wellington and it was delicious. Our waiter was extremely nice and so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Lovely guy. Would stay again and would recommend. One small negative was the air con unit - every hour or so it buzzed slightly which was a little annoying...not enough to wake you up but if you were trying to get asleep it might stop you. We did mention it on checking out just in case unit was faulty and needed checking.
