We really enjoyed our stay in the Castlecourt. It is an old style hotel so don't expect power showers etc. The staff were ALL lovely & very helpful. The hotel is doing a great job in trying to protect everyone from Covid. The booking system for breakfast worked perfectly for us. Breakfast was very nice, with a variety of options. The soda bread is delicious. We ate in the bar a few times & the food was very tasty but would love a more varied menu for vegetarian/vegans rather than the standard pasta, stir-fry, salad options. Jack, in the bar, was very friendly & helpful. The double bed in our room was not comfortable for 2 people so I slept in the single bed while my hubby slept in the double. (Was happy to be away from his snoring 😁). My son & his partner said they were woken up with the noise of a trolley every morning but, other than that, were very happy with their room & the hotel. We didn't want cleaners coming into our room so the lovely bubbly red haired cleaning lady was happy to give us any towels/supplies we needed. The Castlecourt is in a perfect location for walking into Westport & for driving to Achill, Louisburgh, Castlebar, Croagh Patrick, Killary Harbour etc. The beautiful Greenway is well worth cycling as the scenery is stunning. We would happily return to the Castlecourt on our next visit to Westport.

I wish I knew this before we checked in. The hotel have a strict policy and residents cannot buy a drink and chill in the lounge or bar as in other hotels. You have to purchase a substantial meal. So if you’re looking for a relaxing night away where you can order your Guinness or drinks before you head out for the evening or upon returning to your hotel, this is not the hotel for you. This was very disappointing.

The hotel is beautifully decorated it really is lovely. However as we had a late dinner booking we were stressed out trying to plan what we could eat downstairs in order to have a drink in the hotel we are already paying for, but without ruining our appetite for our booked meal. This was annoying. I personally wouldn’t stay here again for this reason.

However I will say...

If you are worried about Covid, and want a break away and having a relaxing drink is not your priority, this is the hotel for you. They are strict on wearing masks and social distancing and markings and signs are very clear to ensure safety. The hallways and common areas are spacious so sitting in the lounge you can rest assured nobody is sitting too close to you. The Castlecourt seem to have gone above and beyond to make their hotel safe for residents. Fair play!

In the Covid-19 era, travelling brings a new set of complications and the biggest amoungst them is safety - we neither want to contract nor spead the virus.

This hotel was top notch for safety. Staff all had face shields and/or masks, there were clear pathways, many sanitising stations, hotel rooms were sealed and room service staff all had appropriate protection.

Well done all and thank you for an enjoyable and safe experience.

Myself and my 2 sisters stayed here on a Friday night. Overall we were very happy with our stay. However, the one downside was waiting for our room. We arrived at 3:15, the rooms were ment to be ready at 3:30 so I didn't mind that it wasn't ready at that time. We were told it would be ready at 3:35 so when I went back to the counter after that time it was still not ready and we were told 5 mins and dat our keys would be dropped down to us. We waited and waited and the keys weren't brought down to us. Now I don't think it was the receptionist fault they kept checking if the room was ready with housekeeping and it wasn't and a big group of people had arrived in to check in. We eventually went back up and got our keys at 4:15 and the woman at reception was very apologetic. Maybe in times like this when there is such a high standards of hygiene more housekeeping staff might be needed to have the rooms ready on time? Apart from that we had a lovely stay. Our room was fab and having a smart TV in the room was a really nice touch. We had dinner in the bistro and some drinks. The staff were very efficient and so nice and friendly. Our room was lovely and quiet and there was a fan in the wardrobe which was a lovely thing to have as my sister is pregnant and gets very warm. We had breakfast the next morning and it was lovely aswel. Overall I would definitely stay here again and recommend to a friend. They also have a free available car park which is brilliant and it's very central to the town of westport. Lovely spacious hotel.

Dear Guest Thank you so much for taking the time to post your review on tripadvisor and for sharing your experience of our hotel with others who may be looking at Westport as the destination for their break away. I am so sorry for the delay which you experienced at check in and for the inconvenienced you experienced as a result. We always strive to have rooms ready from 3.30pm but regrettably even with the additional housekeepers which we have on duty it is not always possible and for this I am truly sorry. I am delighted that once you got into your room you enjoyed its comfort. On behalf of all of our team here in The Castlecourt Hotel I want to thank you for your kind recommendation of our hotel to others and I greatly look forward to having the opportunity to welcome you back sometime in the not too distant future Kindest Regards Liz Conway Manager

We stayed 5 nights at the Castlecourt Hotel recently & had a great time! We were a bit worried about the health & safety aspect due to the current pandemic but there was no need as everything was very well organised. There were hand sanitisers everywhere & when your room was cleaned it had a seal put onto the door so you knew no-one else had gone into it. All the staff were very polite & helpful & all wore their face covering which was very re-assuring. I have to say a very special thanks to Blathnaid who is the Guest Relations Manager. She is so kind, patient & always treats you as her number one priority! A true example of putting the guests first! We are so looking forward to our next trip back to the Castlecourt Hotel. We wish we could go back tomorrow!!

Before I travelled to the Castlecourt Hotel I read the reviews and was worried about some of them i.e. dated, rooms small etc. Our room was sealed -we had option of staff cleaning our rooms each day or just contact staff when we needed toiletries/towels/tea etc. We opted for second one and it worked out perfectly. Staff from Management down were excellent and could not do enough for us. Would recommend this Hotel highly. Our room was excellent.

We arrived to The Castlecourt Hotel for our second trip to Westport. I had heard great things about the hotel so we decided to book here for our stay.
The moment you walk through the door you can smell the amazing fresh flower arrangements.
We were greeted at reception with an extremely warm welcome, the best of what Irish hospitality has to offer and the reception team could not have done more for us - they booked our dinner, breakfast, pool times and the spa for us.
We arrived early and our room wasn’t ready, reception stored our luggage for us and offered tea/coffee while we waited. Such a nice gesture. We decided to take a walk into town as the weather was nice while our room was being prepared.
When we arrived back later on to collect our keys the reception team had our luggage delivered to our room for us. Again such a nice gesture!
We were on the first floor, we had booked a Superior Bedroom and wow it did not disappoint. Everything felt clean and fresh. The bedroom was beautifully presented with an amazing rain forest shower. It also had a coffee machine which was an excellent addition especially in the morning time.
Breakfast the following morning was just as we had expected it was brilliant, fresh and tasty all staff were adhering to covid guidelines and were all wearing face masks.
We ate in The Bistro on one evening and again the food and staff were exceptional. I had the steak and my partner had the Fish & Chips. Both dishes were presented well.
We had spa treatments in Spa Sula - again the therapists were second to none just as we had expected. We also used the swimming pool and it was clean, modern and again the staff were so friendly and welcoming.
Check Out was just as easy as check in and again the reception staff were so friendly and helpful even offering us assistance with our luggage.
All staff throughout the hotel are adhering to Covid Guidelines and there are numerous hand sanitizer points around the hotel.
We enjoyed our stay so much and we cannot recommend The Castlecourt Hotel enough. The customer service is exceptional and the welcome on arrival really stood out for us.
We really can’t wait to return - Thank you all so much!

What an amazing hotel! From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we loved it.

Our family room was spacious with all the little fine details making it feel special. The attention to detail was impressive, with a reassuring seal on the door when we first arrived to our rooms. This gave us confidence that the hotel was taking the best possible steps to keep us safe during Covid-19.

We ate in the hotel both nights of our stay and both nights we were impressed. There was an wonderful choice of food, from fresh seafood to mouth watering steaks. The kids menu was brilliant too, as our two kids were well catered for. Definitely worth a visit!

The staff at the hotel were simply amazing! I can not compliment them enough in words. There friendly, professional nature never ceased to surprise us. It is evident this hotel prides itself in excellent customer service.

The hotel was very well laid out. The impressive decor, art work, fresh floral displays all contributed to a relaxing ambiance. We felt safe during every aspect of our stay as the hotel had superb Covid-19 guidelines for staff and guests to follow such as; one way systems around the hotel corridors/ restaurants, sanitising stations, polite reminders to wash hands and booking slots to use facilities including at breakfast and the pool. The staff all wore face masks or face shields which also put guests at ease.

In conclusion to my review, if you are thinking of staying at this hotel, don’t think any longer, I highly recommend. You will not be disappointed, in fact you will be amazed. Can not wait to visit this wonderful hotel again soon.

We spent two nights in the Castlecourt and had a pleasant stay. The location is excellent, very central, and given the circumstances there was still a bit of a buzz about Westport. The hotel staff are very friendly and accommodating and they take their duty seriously in trying to limit the spread of covid-19. There are hand sanitizers everywhere and all the staff use ppe and make you feel safe. The pool area is nice but the sauna/jacuzzi are closed due to restrictions. you do have to have a substantial meal if you want to have a drink in the hotel, we had dinner booked in town the two nights we stayed but I believe the food in the hotel is very good. The rooms are a bit dated but not too bad. A grand stay in these strange times.

Myself and my friend spent three nights in the Castlecourt Hotel and were extremely happy with the accommodation and the service we received. The food was excellent with a wide choice every evening. Breakfast had anything you wanted, from yoghurt, fruit, cereal and a full Irish breakfast served to you at your table.
The spa and leisure centre was superb and well maintained. The reception staff and serving staff were very friendly and courteous and helped us with any queries we had regarding surrounding amenities. The housekeeping were very helpful, I realised when I got home that I was missing one of my rings, and the staff found it for me after a thorough search of my room, for which I was very grateful.
My friend and I will certainly stay in the Castlecourt Hotel again, and I would thoroughly recommend it to couples and families.
