Good experience overall just needs slight improvements. Lounge/bar area is a little dated and food was grand. However staff mostly friendly. Overall would return and would recommend for family due to proximity to Westport house and also swimming pool on hotel is ideal for 6-12 year olds.
Lovely stay in beautiful Hotel. Received warm welcome on arrival, Room was extremely comfortable. Hotel was very busy so breakfast was a bit chaotic but couldn’t fault the food. Great atmosphere in the bar. Unable to get spa treatment. Great mid week break really enjoyed stay.
Git a lovely welcome after a long stressful journey. Receptionist with blond hair was so lovely. Didnt get her name. Room great. Comfy bed and beautiful bathroom. Aaron in the bar was great. Breakfast excellent. Handy location for the town and lovely walk through the park to the quays. They lock the gates at 8pm so be careful. Really enjoyed our stay.
My whole family including all the grandchildren had an amazing time in hotrotel Westport, the staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble for them, the rooms were very comfortable and spotless, the food was also lovely, the children loved the pool and want to know when we can go back I would recommend this hotel to anyone and especially family's
Excellent Excellent Excellent. Beautiful location in the grounds of Westport House, bright, spacious and immaculate! Beautiful helpful staff, fortifying breakfast and delicious dinner menu! love it👌 will definitely book this hotel every time.
I really enjoyed my stay in hotel westport but I mostly enjoyed the treatment I got from staff especially Alannah who made us feel welcome and appreciated. Great to see staff who do their best. Would definitely come back.
Hello, what a lovely stay we had in Hotel Wesport first time visitors we will be back. Food ambience staff incredible. Lovely staff must mention InKa very pleasant helpful happy a joy to deal with . Thank you Hotel Wesport you are doing a great job
My grandmother was visiting me and we went to the hotel Westport and had dinner at the Island Restaurant. It was an amazing experience. We were greeted by Inca , who took us to a lovely table . Two very eficient waitress attended us, Jaume and Dagmar. The food was excelent. Congratulations to all staff.
Enjoyable family stay in a lovely hotel, which is walking distance from Westport town centre and to Westport parkrun. It was an added bonus that the hotel was on the grounds of Westport House which we also visited and were given a 25% discount as guests of the hotel. The hotel itself was very clean and beds comfortable, staff were friendly (special mention to Katie and Cathal), good breakfast and meals and at times to suit us. The children enjoyed the magician, Daniel who entertained us at dinner. There was a good programme of activities for the younger guests. Overall, a very enjoyable stay and look forward to a return visit.
I stayed with family for 3 nights August 2022 , the hotel has a very friendly family feel , but I feel there are elements that left it down . My family have stayed there several times over the years and it has gone down a lot since Pros Family friendly , the kids loved the club Breakfast was ok Most staff were friendly Swimming pool is good Cons No spa open on bank holiday weekend No residents bar after 1am , ( even ordering a drink to your room would be a good alternative) Booked for dinner but our booking wasn't put down and had to wait for table , dinner took 2hrs ( server was lovely and we felt sorry for her that she had to apologise for delays ) Our breakfast booking was also lost and we had to wait for a table ( again staff had to apologise ) Night porter was very rude . When we returned from town one night ( hotel entertainment ended quite early so we had no choice but look for entertainment elsewhere) .when returned we asked for a drink , this is usually not a problem in any other hotel I've stayed in , in Ireland. The night porter got quite agitated and sent us off to bed with 2 bottles of water ! The following night we overheard the same night porter talking badly about other guests and gave us a dirty look as we walked by to go to bed , he was talking to the hotel manager . This is completely unprofessional. The hotel bar seating is a bit of a disaster , plenty seats available but couldn't be seated because large table were occupied by 2 people . I don't understand why people can't be grouped together. ( COVID restrictions have been lifted in Ireland currently) If you were fortunate to get a seat , there was table service , but as soon as you had an empty glass , a server would be over to take the glass and ask if you wanted to order another. It became extremely annoying, why can't you sit in a hotel bar and feel relaxed, as a resident you have paid enough for your stay .if I want a drink I'll ask a server or go up to the bar! This must be a practice management are enforcing to their staff . The alternative to the bar, is to be seated in a cold corridor to wait or in a room with outdated furniture and large windows covered in condensation. Honestly that room is like a nursing home with old style chairs and damaged tables. There was no entertainment on Sunday night of a bank holiday weekend!! Hotel wesport has potential to be much better . The hotel needs a revamp , and a new style of management, it just lets itself down by disorganisation and lack of things you would expect in a 4 star hotel . Unfortunately I don't think we will be returning. I had sent feedback to the hotel and they didn't take the time to reply or acknowledge. Westport itself is a beautiful town and has other hotels that have much higher standards than this so called 4star . I won't be returning, and I certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone i know…
