Travellers' Choice
The Retreat Centre is a lovingly converted old woolen mill on three levels, with bedrooms all upstairs. The first floor bedrooms are all en-suite, the top floor bedrooms have shared facilities. The Centre is in a rural hill-side setting just three miles from the heritage town of Westport and beside Croagh Patrick, Ireland's holy mountain. The property has views over all Clew Bay.

My third visit to Cloona was as rewarding and more as both previous visits. Seeking a physical, mental and digital detox Cloona provided much needed balm. After five days of nurturing and wonderful care by Dhara and the team, I left lighter of mind and body. From the delicious, nutritious food to the gentle yoga and fabulous daily walks - that view of Clew Bay as you near the end of one walk is breathtaking. As I return to the city with the echoing traffic, I think of Cloona where all that you hear is the sound of the birds and the gentle whisper of a breeze in the trees. Cloona is simply a hidden gem and haven of tranquility that truly worked its magic on me. I am already planning my return visit.

My third visit to Cloona and boy was it needed this time around post Covid. We were blessed with wonderful weather which helped but I’ve visited in the depths of winter previously and no matter. The warmth and simplicity of Cloona is difficult to describe. Think simple pleasures, time to rediscover yourself, space to ‘think’ and the help to unwind the knots and stresses of daily life. Wonderful food, relaxing yoga, the most lovely natural treatments and warmth and comfort. Most visitors are repeats - it’s no surprise. I am booking again for next year and can’t recommend Cloona enough!

I am so glad I discovered Cloona 3 years ago! I'm just back home after my third stay, as always the 5 days have benefited me enormously. It was wonderful to detox and de-stress. I love everything about Cloona, the people first, the tasty vegetarian food, the guided walks and of course the yoga! I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

I have just returned home from a Detox retreat in Cloona and wow what a fantastic time I had. This was my 1st time in Cloona, and I did not know what to expect. My room was so comfortable, airy and bright. A double bed all to myself. The Yoga with Caitriona was brilliant (1st time ever doing Yoga) The food was scrumptious, especially the soups. My absolute favourite part was the daily walks, we did a different route everyday. I arrived home feeling lighter, relaxed and recharged. I will be back. Thank you to Dhara, Rose and whole Cloona family 🙏
