Stay for 1 night B&B on our travels of the west coast and we’re slightly disappointed our room was looking slightly dated. It didn’t dampen our time there though and the staff were super friendly. Breakfast was very good, just a shame about our room.
Great location-easy access to pubs, restaurants and shops. Lovely rooms. We were a party of 5 girls and were able to have a triple and twin room right beside each other. Food excellent. Staff lovely. The friendliness of the staff alone would make you want to return.
We stayed here on wednesday night and as usual everything was great.Staff were very courteous and friendly and the service was very good. Room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was fine. We will be back!
I booked a cocktail class for a hen party last Sunday and it was amazing from start to finish. Everything from the booking to the activity ran so smoothly. Ravel is great at his job so attentive and everybody really enjoyed it. He even got us some finger food for a very reasonable cost which went down a treat with the girls. I would highly recommend the cocktail class for any hen parties or groups. Even just popping in for a cocktail you won’t be disappointed.
This is a lovely hotel located in the heart of buzzing Westport. Staff were wonderful and the breakfast was great each morning. Parking is easy in the adjacent municipal lot and it's simple to pop in and out of the hotel when exploring the town on foot. Lots of great shops, pubs, and restaurants within a 5 minute stroll.
There aren’t enough stars to give this place. This is a superior owner run hotel and everything from the moment we walked in the front door was perfect! There’s even a car park right next door and use of the aquatic facility next door! First off we needed to get laundry done and asked the lovely lady at the front desk where there might be a coin op. She said to just let them do it for us because it wouldn’t cost much and it would be easier on us…what a sweetheart! They had it ready later that afternoon which was phenomenal! After settling in our room we went down to check out the on premise bar Maddens appropriately named after the owner Darren Madden who happened to also be behind the bar. I ordered a Sauvignon Blanc and my hubby ordered a Smithwicks and pronounced it as such. Darren lightly made a joke of knowing we were tourists due to that faux paw! It became a standing joke as we got to know Darren that evening. He asked about our travel plans and we stated we were headed North next to Donegal. He suggested we take a trip out to Dun Briste to see the sea stack instead because it was pretty spectacular. We decided to take his advice and headed out that way the next day after cancelling our other reservation. It truly was as advertised and we were so happy he recommended it! We ended up staying in Westport an extra day…had more great conversations with Darren and will be sure to return if we ever head back to Ireland again…but for any of you headed that way…stay at The Clew Bay…you won’t be sorry!!! P.S. Have the French toast for breakfast…it’s to die for!…
This is a fantastic hotel in Westport. It is right in the center of town proving abt access to the best pubs, restaurants, shops, and more in Westport. The hotel is incredibly clean and the rooms are fantastic. Highly recommend!!
Clew Bay Hotel is centrally located in Westport town, providing an ideal base for visiting Croagh Patrick and surrounding attractions. Paid parking is available towards the back of this 3-star hotel, which includes accessible parking bays. We enjoyed our breakfast and evening meal in Maddens Restaurant. However, I found the breakfast buffet is out of reach for wheelchair users to avail of independently. The accessible bedroom is situated close to the lift and consists of twin beds, a desk with reachable sockets, and mirror at a correct height. Wardrobe railing is high but manageable. Table and chairs are blocking access to opening and closing curtains. The accessible bathroom consists of a wheel-in shower, two shower controls and shower heads, one fixed and one removable. Unfortunately, both shower controls are placed high on the wall and are out of reach when requiring the use of a shower chair. This bathroom also includes two sinks with accompanying mirrors - one at a standard height and one low level. Plenty of grab rails are placed around the accessible bathroom. Overall, this is a very nice hotel with good food and friendly staff. Modifications such as lowering shower controls, supplying a suitable shower chair and removing unnecessary table/chairs in the accessible room, can make a considerable difference to a wheelchair user’s stay.…
Stayed two nights at the Clew Hotel and was very happy. The staff were very helpful and friendly, The breakfasts were top class and having a dinner as part of our package on the first night, as it was so good, we booked our dinner for the second night also. The hotel was very clean. We would hightly recommend it.
Stayed one night and was very happy with the room and the service provided. Room was bright and spotless. Very quiet as well. Breakfast was lovely and staff all very helpful and friendly. Great location for a stroll around the town too.
