Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I enjoyed a short break in Westport during May.We stayed in Clew bay hotel, accomadation was superb, courteous helpful, and efficient staff. Food was excellent and customer service was great.location of hotel is so central for touring around area, and for shopping in beautiful Westport. Parking is available just near hotel. I would highly recommend the Clew bay, and am already looking forward to a return visit.

This place was booked for us by our bike tour company, and we ended up liking it quite a bit. Our room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The location is pretty awesome, and you're right in the thick of the action in Westport. The continental breakfast bar was great, but I felt like my French toast was dry.

NIce hotel in a central location. Public ground-level carpark right beside hotel only 3 euro for 24hrs. Comfortable bed, clean room, lovely breakfast, really nice staff. I had a quiet room (109) at the back of the hotel overlooking the stream. (There are some rooms overlooking the main street and the carpark.) Would definitely stay in the Clew Bay again.

We had a wonderful stay at the Clew Bay Hotel, the rooms are really comfortable with large bathrooms , we were staying here with my mother, who is 91 there are two lifts. And the whole hotel was easy to get around in for her. The breakfast area is Roomy with every type of cereals and yoghurt and toast et cetera. And they have every type of cooked breakfast. You can imagine, and it tastes good as well, from coffee to latte everything is plentiful and the staff are really really friendly. Staff helped us out with all sorts of local information, even ringing people up for us to help organise on that day There’s a car park around the corner where you pay €3 for 24 hours, which is really good and there’s always spaces. Also electric car charging possible. It’s right in the heart of town all the shops are few meters away , not just that, but it’s near to the edge of town, so you can go down to the river and Have a relaxing walk.

Had super 2 night stay in large room at back of hotel. Room had wonderful floor to ceiling window with super views of the river. Breakfast was excellent with very friendly waitress. We had dinner there first night of our stay the chowder was super. Hotel location is excellent and parking in leisure centre for 3 euros per day. Only problem was lift to 3rd floor lift was out of order and a long walk to our room .Great friendly staff in reception. We will be back.

From the minute we arrived we relaxed. The location was ideal, centre of the town. The staff were wonderful, so friendly, welcoming and helpful. The room was lovely-we were given the same room as previous visit. Breakfast was excellent with a great variety. We had dinner in the hotel one of the nights and the food and service was wonderful. The only downside was the shower which had no pressure and not that hot..minor issue overall though. Looking forward to staying again.
