I had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel with my two Sons on a short staycation in the Westport area. Hotel is very conveniently situated with access to cheap parking close by. Staff, from Management to Servers, were excellent. They were pleasant, professional and at all times made us feel very welcome. No request was any bother.

Due to Covid restrictions we dined in the hotel at all times - excellent food with a wide selection for all tastes which was reasonably priced.

A big shout out for compliance to current health control guidelines - rooms fully sanitized before we arrived, guests encouraged to wear masks once outside their rooms, all staff wore visors at all times and ample availability of hand sanitizer dispensers in public areas and at all tables.

Overall a very enjoyable stay

The Clew Bay Hotel is a lovely family run boutique-style hotel in the centre of Westport. We loved our stay here! All of the staff were welcoming and helpful. The rooms are modern, bright and very clean with such comfy beds! We ate in the restaurant a couple of times for dinner and were all very pleased with what we had; breakfast each morning was also excellent. Its location is ideal - perfect for strolling around Westport to check out the shops and restaurants, or walking along the riverside to Westport House. Plenty of parking is available on site for just €3 per day, plus all guests can use the leisure centre which is just next door. Overall very good value for money - we will certainly stay here again.

Clew Bay Hotel is centrally located in Westport town, providing an ideal base for visiting Croagh Patrick and surrounding attractions. Paid parking is available towards the back of this 3-star hotel, which includes accessible parking bays. We enjoyed our breakfast and evening meal in Maddens Restaurant. However, I found the breakfast buffet is out of reach for wheelchair users to avail of independently.

The accessible bedroom is situated close to the lift and consists of twin beds, a desk with reachable sockets, and mirror at a correct height. Wardrobe railing is high but manageable. Table and chairs are blocking access to opening and closing curtains. The accessible bathroom consists of a wheel-in shower, two shower controls and shower heads, one fixed and one removable. Unfortunately, both shower controls are placed high on the wall and are out of reach when requiring the use of a shower chair. This bathroom also includes two sinks with accompanying mirrors - one at a standard height and one low level. Plenty of grab rails are placed around the accessible bathroom.

Overall, this is a very nice hotel with good food and friendly staff. Modifications such as lowering shower controls, supplying a suitable shower chair and removing unnecessary table/chairs in the accessible room, can make a considerable difference to a wheelchair user’s stay.

This hotel is right in town, close to all amenities. The check in was easy and fast, first impressions were good. However we had a twin room with a large bed and a single bed. The single bed was in a small section of the room which had no windows or ventilation. Then two small steps down to the main part of the bedroom which was ok. The only window looked into an inner courtyard and on the adjacent rooftop there was a plant room which was very noisy at times. The room was extremely hot and if you opened the window it was extremely noisy. There were only four hangers in the wardrobe, a bit mean and not too many stations on the TV which had a very dodgy remote. In short the room left a lot to be desired.
The cooked food at breakfast was very good, hot, well cooked and presented really well. For me the buffet lacked a couple of items. I don't eat cereal or drink juice, I asked if there was any cheese or cold meats. The answer was no, so I started with some water. The staff were first class, all the young ladies serving in the restaurant were fantastic, as were the gentleman.
We had dinner on two evenings in the restaurant, the first evening I had fish and chips that were really good. Second evening I had a 10oz Sirloin steak which I thought was rather small, it was served with mushrooms and onions, which I found under the steak. Overall a small meal and in my opinion totally overpriced at 26 euro.
Check out was fast and efficient, parking was also good in an adjacent public car park for 3 Euro per 24 hour period.
Overall I would return here, however I would not stay in that room or order the Steak.

Me, my husband and three kids stayed in the spacious family room made up of two rooms. Very clean, beds very comfortable and bathroom also spotless.
They have hand sanitiser everywhere including at the reception, entrance to bar, entrance to restaurant and even in the lift after you press the buttons. Tables socially distanced in bar and in the restaurant. Fabulous food in restaurant and the staff were so so friendly.
Tea and coffee available on in request.
Brilliant selection for breakfast and very filling.
My only fault about this hotel was the heat in the room when you are trying to sleep.
Apart from that everything was perfect.
Highly recommend if you are in Westport whether you want to stay in the night or just have dinner.

What a lovely hotel right in the Centre of Westport. I travelled with elderly relatives and the hotel was perfect and met all our needs. The central location and car park beside the hotel was ideal and i was delighted to pick up my towel at reception and have complimentary access to the leisure Centre next door too. The food was excellent and my parents were very happy to see table service for breakfast which they much prefer over a buffet. The rooms were quiet even though the hotel is in the town and the beds very comfy. The place is fresh, clean and tidy, the staff polite and friendly and the hotel is a credit to the owners. All in all a very enjoyable stay and we hope to be back!

Spent two nights in Clew Bay hotel in Westport. We took a family room (large double and 2 singles)which was very spacious. Hotel was spotless throughout. Staff very polite, courteous and accommodating (especially with one son's "particular" dinner requests!!) We had breakfast and dinner both nights in Madden's and couldn't fault it. Amazing food - beautifully presented with many tasty delights from their prawn tempura to their divine chocolate brownie!!! Check in was quick and efficient. Sanitizer on view everywhere with social distancing signs evident also. Really enjoyed our break here. Would return. Thank you.

We have just returned from a 5 night stay at the Clew Bay Hotel. We found this hotel very welcoming all round.

Our room was spacious and comfortable and exactly suited our needs. The breakfast menu was generous and evening meals were delicious. The management and staff on duty were very diligent, pleasant and Covid conscious.

The location is central in Westport and suitable as a base for sight seeing of the Harbour, Westport House & grounds, Achill, the cycling Western Greenway and Croagh Patrick

The pay and display cark park (€3 per day) is adjacent to the hotel

We would recommend this hotel and finally we ourselves will return to stay at the Clew Bay Hotel again

So, for our first getaway post pandemic we opted for Westport and the Clew Bay Hotel for our base. What a great choice on both counts. There is so much to do, see and enjoy in Westport and its environs, but we were twice blessed with a fab base in The Clew Bay Hotel. This is an imaculately run, friendly, comfy and welcoming base for singles, couples or families who want to explore the west of Ireland. We enjoyed two nights and stayed in a really comfy bedroom and enjoyed the most delicious food: fab evening menu and a gorgeous made to order breakfast with very decent coffee. Very hard to beat IMO!
