Our last night in beautiful West Port was ruined by an extremely lower than average meal and a fight between the rude owner and a paying guest we had small children with us and it was completely disgusting and unacceptable behaviour for them to witness my regret is that we payed at all but wanted to get out of sight... This is a difficult review to write as the staff were lovely and really tried their best but the whole place just needs a revamp - it looks like something out of faulty towers. The walls must be made from paper as we were able to hear every sound from the rooms around us hence we got little sleep. Our... More

Great afternoon watching the GAA quarter finals, until we ordered some food and wine. Open prawn was poor, tiny tasteless prawns, the wife had and awful glass of Sauvignon Blanc, asked if we could exchange for the pinot grigio but the owner refused. Left a bad taste after the great pints of stout. We're in westport for a week but... More

We only came to be here as we were stuck and it was around 6pm so we were desperate. We spotted the sour guy in the bar who pushed past us in a gruff manner (this was the boss). We did get a room (but now I know why). No one else in their right mind would stay here. The... More

Lovely staff especially girl at breakfast.Very polite and helpful even under pressure during our stay.Room was comfortable and clean. We had a meal in the bar and found it was tasty and filling.Plenty to do around area. Some pubs get a bit crowded but others are not so. Enjoyable stay, would return.

I am staying here with a group of my senior friends in May. Stayed in Dublin last year 100 euros a night plus 15 Euros for breakfast. Dunnings 35 Euros a night including breakfast, the best I have tasted in the Republic of Ireland. Centre of a great town with lots to do!!

We ordered a fish dinner and a turkey and ham dinner, the fish on the menu was advertised as "freshly caught" the only way this was caught had to be falling from a "freshly" delivered "Donegal Catch" box. The turkey and bacon was equally awful coming from an over heated microwave oven, not recommended to anyone

When I first arrive I was not expecting much considering that it was cheap........I thought at lease it would be clean, "Cheap and Cheerful" I was expecting. In saying that the Staff were lovely, the breakfast fantastic (great cook) so no complains there. On the other hand, the rooms were (putting in nicely) a s***h***. I had to sleep with... More

I stayed here as part of a hen party that was organised through henit.ie. Based in price point I didn't expect anything fancy however even in the most basic of places you can have hot water for a shower. We entered the bar and was greeted by an extremely rude man who I was later surprised to find out actually... More

Dunning's was the first place we inquired about when we arrived in Westport. I was greeted warmly by Pat (contrary to other reviews he was very genial to us) and shown a room. It looked clean enough but I should've looked a little deeper. The room was a fairly decent size with a small bathroom - did I say I... More
