Ena and Ger are the most delightful hosts that I have ever met. Their home is beautiful and they went above and beyond in making our stay in Ireland a once in a lifetime experience. The Irish breakfast was cooked to order and included a wide selection for any palate.
Great hosts! Cooked to order breakfast. Quiet, clean. Ena and Jer knew my relatives in the area. Only spent two nights in Westport this trip. Will definitely stay at Lurgan house on our next trip! They gave us suggestions of where to eat and things to do. Like staying with family! Comfortable bed. Good shower.
Ena and her husband were the perfect hosts. In no time all we felt like were visiting family. At breakfast Ena asked if we had any special requests. I must say that I rarely get my scrambled eggs done hard enough but Ena made them to perfection. She even made a special trip to get Tabasco sauce for me. She made scones and little delightful pancakes for my wife. It's a pleasant walk on the greenway to the town center from a very quiet location. We will visit Wesport again and certainly stay at the Lurgan House.
Ena and Jer are wonderful hosts; genuine, nice and authentic people. We really enjoyed our chats and the super tasty homemade bread. Our room was stylish, well appointed and comfortable. Will definitely stay again if in the area.
Lurgan B&B is a nice and quiet little B&B near Westport. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. You get a great specially made breakfast with everything you need. Ina is a very nice and attentive host. (I hope she liked the little drawing of my wife in the guest book) Free parking spaces. It´s a nice 10-minutes walk to the wonderful town of Westport or the other way to Westport Quay where you can find really cute shops, restaurants and bars, as well as in the city as at the quay. It is also a good starting point for trips to Croagh Patrick or the coast. We would love to come back again and enjoy the hospitallity!
Never stayed in a place where the moment you arrive your made to feel very unwelcome, as if we were an inconvenience having to deal with us. We felt like intruders in someone's home, we could hear them walking about up an down the stairs and talking but when we went to look for them downstairs they had there living quarter doors locked and wouldn't reply when we called and knocked lol Next morning was a bit awkward at breakfast as we were the only ones there and it wasn't set up right for a breakfast sitting. We just felt completely unwelcome from start to finish. The hot breakfast was terrible, burnt food and grease dripping of the plate. I asked for Brown sauce and was given bbq and was told that's all they had lol... After breakfast for check out they had just disappeared! Not one sign of anyone, we waited for a short while but no one showed up so I'm guessing they didn't care if we were there or not, or maybe they away to get some Brown sauce lol Wouldn't stay again or recommend, should an unwelcoming, errie experience, even now reflecting on it it's hard to believe they run a b&b…
Our fist stay at Lurgan House was October, 2016. The rooms are clean, spacious and warm; the bed is comfortable. Common areas are welcoming. Breakfast is wonderful. Ina creates a friendly atmosphere and is accommodating. She willingly made our family favorite "Jimmy Earl" eggs for my husband, They are a simple variation of fried eggs. She was willing to take the extra effort. The downside is when we went back to Westport June, 2018, she was booked and had no room. I guess we'll just have to plan another trip and book earlier!
There are no words for the welcome that we received from Ena. She is one of the nicest people that you will ever meet. We had the pleasure of staying with her for a couple of days, on our recent tour of Ireland. House is beautiful and rooms very comfortable and the breakfast delicious. Ena goes up and beyond to make your stay everything that you would want or need (She even acquired a hair curler for me, when mine broke) She and her family are among the friendliest people that you will meet. We will certainly return, if the future allows us. Thanks Ena.
Excellent b&b very well run and breakfast first class. Ena very welcoming and very helpful she even gave us a lift in to town as we were attending a wedding. Lovely house just outside the town and spotless. No hesitation in recommending.
Walking distance to town (nice restaurants, life music). Nice people, clean and tidy room. Irish Breakfast was excellent. It is (at least early september) quite busy in the city of Westport. So it's advisable to make a reservation in a restaurant. To avoid going-from-door-to-door like we had to do ;-)
