Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Quality of the rooms, the breakfasts, the hospitality, the grounds, and the hosts going the extra distance made this a very enjoyable stay. I only stayed 2 nights but had I known it was so nice I would have stayed more days and based myself there for some of my trip.

Great accommodation at Lurgan House. Ena greeted us as soon as we arrived and made us feel welcome. The accommodations were modern, clean and comfortable. Ena & Ger were attentive, friendly and knowledgeable of the area. We had trouble finding a rugby jersey for our son and Ena checked to see if her son had left any he didn't need in the attic. The breakfasts were wonderful. The highlight of the stay would be the easy walk into Westport using the Greenway . We would certainly recommend Lurgan House to other travelers in Ireland. Highly recommend!

Lurgan House is perfectly situated just a short and very pleasant walk from town along a walking trail. The home is immaculately kept, the beds and rooms are comfortable, and you could not find more lovely or welcoming people than Ina and Gerald. Ina makes a beautiful breakfast every morning, making up individual orders for each guest. Also, her scones are truly the best I have ever tasted !! I will be sure to stay here again in my next visit to Westport !

Fantastic B&B just 5 mins from Westport. Eina was a perfect hostess, rooms were spacious and comfortable. We had an ensuite room and the breakfast was enormous with lots of variety. She was able to give us local advice with tips and places to eat, even down to booking a dinner reservation for us, which was delicious.

One of the best B&B’s I have stayed in, with friendly and warm hospitality; clean, lovely bed linen in spacious bedrooms, all en-suite. A short walk in to Westport via the Greenway (cycle track) or 2 minutes drive. I hope to return!

We had such a perfect stay. The surrounding area is absolutely gorgeous and serene. You're still just a short walk from town, which was great! Lurgan House was clean, cute, friendly and all around wonderful. Breakfast was absolutely delicious as well! We would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: It can be a bit challenging to get to Lurgan from the train station, I would recommend a taxi.

Ena and Ger are the most delightful hosts that I have ever met. Their home is beautiful and they went above and beyond in making our stay in Ireland a once in a lifetime experience. The Irish breakfast was cooked to order and included a wide selection for any palate.

Great hosts! Cooked to order breakfast. Quiet, clean. Ena and Jer knew my relatives in the area. Only spent two nights in Westport this trip. Will definitely stay at Lurgan house on our next trip! They gave us suggestions of where to eat and things to do. Like staying with family! Comfortable bed. Good shower.

Ena and her husband were the perfect hosts. In no time all we felt like were visiting family. At breakfast Ena asked if we had any special requests. I must say that I rarely get my scrambled eggs done hard enough but Ena made them to perfection. She even made a special trip to get Tabasco sauce for me. She made scones and little delightful pancakes for my wife. It's a pleasant walk on the greenway to the town center from a very quiet location. We will visit Wesport again and certainly stay at the Lurgan House.
