Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Acorn glamping is a lovely place to use as a base when exploring Westport and Connemara. Ed and Fiona tge owners abd their kids are really lovely people who couldnt do enough for you. The site is not too big with just 5 pods to stay in with a communal kitchen and wah up area. Communal showers and loos. When we stayed it was all famalies there and it was a lovely relaxed vibe. We were eaten alive in the tent at night was the only downside 😒 will definately be back to acorn wood its a lovely spot thanks Ed and Fiona and crew 👍👍

First time glamping, really enjoyed the experience. Ed and Fiona went out of their way to make us feel welcome and gave us great tips about places to visit in the locality. That first evening sitting on the hill, sipping beer and taking in that view is a lifelong memory. Kids really enjoyed it too. Showers and toilets were excellent and they even supply bug spray to guests. Looking forward to coming back in the future!

Just back from one night in acornwood, meant to stay for 2 nights but luck had it work called so needed to cut our trip short, first time glamping, read all 15 reviews that were amazing so we really expected a fabulous place…the photos are very deceiving, this place is built on a steep hill, the trek to the toilet is definitely not for the faint hearted, not mentioned in any reviews that bathrooms are a trek, very badly lit at night, apparently fairy lights in the cabin are solar powered, they don’t work,t god we brought our own,the key in the door of the cabin is for decoration purposes so don’t bring anything valuable,we paid for 2 nights up front as it was short notice, that’s ok,didn’t expect a refund for having to leave unexpectedly but a text from the host would have been manners, after all we did give you €270 for one night, won’t be returning and hopefully our next glamping experience will be a little bit more enjoyable.

Very relaxing and calm place. The family have done a great job creating this hidden oasis. Perfect for big and small groups. Amazing views with beautiful camp fire area and cottage. One minor thing was the floor of shower could have been cleaner. Despite this, they have made such an effort to accommodate for everyone. All the small details add up to a wonderful glamping experience. Would highly recommend to anyone looking try out glamping. We will be back!!!

Anyone that reads this review i want you to know that Acorn has to be the best Glamping experience ever for me and my family. This place is magical. We had the best time of our lives here. My husband daughter nephew and i had the pleasure of spending 4 nights here last week. Honestly even if the weather is good bad sunny or raining it just adds to this stunning place. Everything is there for you and i mean everything, the only thing you need to take with you is food and maybe a few drinks. We stayed in the blackthorn cabin, it was extremely comfortable, it holds up to 6 people and it is spotless clean. We had our own bbq area and seating outside our cabin, with 2 gas burners also. We had been supplied with pans plates cups cutlery glasses everything. The only thing we needed was voles for the bbq. There is a little cabin a few feet away that has a kettle ,microwave and sink with running hot water. Tea towels are also supplied. A few steps (20 maybe) up the hill and you have spotless clean toilets and hot showers to use. Toilet Rolls are also provided. There is slso a beautiful little cottage with a stove burning and plenty of seating if you want to sit there at night. Great for meeting with other guests. Also there is a fire pit in the middle of the camp which my daughter loved using for her marshmallows to melt. I have to say we have glampt before but this place is the Rolls Royce of glamping. We had a barrell of laughs here. It is for all ages. It would be a great place for any type of event. Birthdays Hens Stags or just to feel in touch with nature. I was left wishing we could stay longer. There is so much to do here, walking, cycling , diving fishing bird watching, photography its all here. You can even climb the holy mountain. I love love love this place. I would never book a hotel here when Acorn is so amazing. Its better than any hotel. Ed and Fiona and their beautiful kids are the family who own Acorn, honestly they cant do enough for you. Anything you need they will help with. I had the pleasure of meeting Ed and his 2 sons Jack and Charlie. These guys are the most decent, lovely humble hard working people i have ever met. They make you feel like your at home, and really does feel like home. My family and i had the best time of our lives here. We cannot wait to go back. Ed is a true gentleman , he cannot do enough for you. Anyone who books here will all love this place. They have also recieved awards too. Guys thanks so much for making our little break here so special. We will be back. Trip Advisor this place is more than your top marks. If we had 10 stars i would give them all to Acorn.

We stayed here last week right in the middle of Storm Ella. The owner Ed couldn’t have done enough for us, the kids absolutely loved it regardless of the weather. We stayed in the Oak tree cabin and spent the evening in the lovely cottage. Great facilities and really impressed with the shower area, compared to some glamping sites it was 10/10.

We stayed at Acorn Wood Glamping for three nights and had an amazing time. It had everything you'd want from the Glamping experience. My kids had great freedom and loved exploring the site. Everything was spotless and Ed was very helpful and friendly. The views were outstanding, we hope to return soon.

We arrived to sunshine in the most beautiful setting in Acorn Wood. 6 girls means lots of bags and baggage and we were so happy with the space we had in our tent, the seating area outside our tent and the communal campfire. It was extremely enjoyable with lots of fun and loads of memories. Fiona and Ed could not have been more accommodating and easy going. All facilities were provided and surpassed our expectations above and beyond. 6 very happy girls who would only be delighted to stop again on travels along The Wild Atlantic Way.

Myself and my partner stayed here from Friday to Saturday in the bell tent. Tent is wonderful and spacious and the bed and bedding is very comfortable. The owner Ed is possibly the nicest man in Ireland and couldn’t have been more accommodating. He even gave us a lift into Westport which is about a ten minute drive away. All in all the glamp site was a fantastic stay and I’m sure we will be back to visit again. 10/10 👍👍
