Detailed Reviews
We stayed here for one night and made a last minute booking. We had wet camping gear and our bikes which we were reluctant to leave outside on the car. Sarah the receptionist went above and beyond and organised for us to leave our bikes inside and even found a clothes horse to hang the tent to dry it out a bit.
The room was a generous size and very warm, clean and modern.
We ate in the hotel bar and the food was great and our waitress Bridie was excellent.
Overall, we had a brilliant stay at the hotel and would highly recommend it. The staff truly went above and beyond and we felt so welcomed. We will definitely be back again!

Westport Country Lodge Hotel is located Ballinvoy, Aghagower, Westport, about 3 miles outside Westport town in quite a remote area. We were there to celebrate a christening. A car is obligatory here as there’s no public transport and the area is quite remote, one of its many charms. As some other posts have indicated the food was great and reasonably priced. Great roast beef, fresh vegetables and potatoes – simple but tasteful traditional cooking.
We took some group photos sitting on the wall surrounding the rectangular water fixture with dramatic views over Croagh Patrick and the verdant beauty of the surrounding areas. Set in 35 acres of grounds and there is also a pitch and putt course. We were reluctant to leave and plan to stay longer next time.

I recently stayed in this hotel for 3 nights with my Wife and Baby, And i have to say we really enjoyed it, the hotel is so clean and the grounds and views are breath takeing, Tom the owner of this hotel i gathered he was the owner after half an hour service in the bar! He made me and my family feel very welcome and comfortable at his Hotel. I needed a taxi into town and the receptionest Blone girl i didint get her name but she arranged me my taxi into town and made sure i had all the numbers of taxis to get back as i woulnt be familiar with the taxi service in westport, we also needed towls and toilet roll for our room and the same girl made sure she deliverd them to our room herself promtly,An asset to this hotel she is.Staff go above and beyond for you... Overall a great clean and comfortable experience. We will be back.

My family and I stayed here for two nights, as part of our staycation in Mayo. Unfortunately, our experience was, in the main, a negative one, a lot of which revolved around cleanliness. Firstly, when we checked in, we were told there wasn’t a trolley to help bring all our bags up to the first floor room. So three visits back and forth to the car later, I eventually got everything up. Not really a good first impression. My wife had then noticed that the bathroom in our room had not been cleaned and you could clearly see urine on the toilet rim and hairs in the bath. With Covid 19 still a major issue, cleanliness should surely be an absolute priority for hotels right now so seeing this did not fill us with confidence. We contacted reception about the bathroom and the receptionist did apologise but we then noticed when we went off for dinner that it seemed that she herself had to go up and clean the bathroom, as she was carrying cleaning products! During dinner on the first night, I went to the main hotel toilets, just off the lounge area and the two dorm toilets in the male toilets were absolutely filthy, it was disgusting. I had to leave them immediately. There was no sign or notice in these toilets to indicate any kind of cleaning rota being followed, which is surely standard in most hotels nowadays. After my first night’s sleep, I noticed, the following morning, that I had what appeared to be bed bug bites on my ankles and lower legs. This was confirmed when I attended a pharmacist in town later that day. This is just simply not good enough in 2021. Staffing also seemed to be an issue while we were there, there seemed to be a lack of plentiful staff and the average age of staff present were late teens/early twenties: in fairness they did try their best but it’s a huge responsibility to be putting on young shoulders. The main positive was the food: breakfast on both mornings was very nice with lots of options and the dinner was fine, but with more limited choices (same specials both evenings) and very meat orientated. Also, the hotel was, in the main, very quiet, especially at night. I certainly hope the issues I’ve raised can be addressed immediately as I would not be able to recommend this hotel at present.

My partner and I stayed in this hotel back in June. Although at the time we didn't want to put up a bad review with everything the hospitality sector was going through but this hotel isn't what it was advertised to be. We ate here for lunch and dinner the food was only ok and the staff were quite rude and clearly didn't want to serve you even though we spent good money there most of the day. The bar felt unclean and could of done with a spruce up especially for evening dining.
The room was dirty and the bathroom had other people's hair still there and around the bath. We also asked for extra pillows as the pillows on the bed weren't enough as we had one each and the spare single bed didn't even have pillows on it. We were told they had no spare pillows in the whole hotel when asked and following up on this we were told they were very "busy" even though the hotel was dead. It appeared that the receptionist was also the cleaner and all rounder and was trying to run things on her own. Won't be returning and really put a damper on our night away for the first time since Covid. Don't understand where the good reviews are coming from.

The hotel has the most comfy beds I’ve ever been on with extended breakfast hours 8:30-12:00 and it’s a glorious buffet with a nice fry up. I would personally recommend the French toast. Very nice views and pretty cheap for the local area.

My husband and I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights this week. We found all the staff we encountered very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is very comfortable and clean. Our room was spacious as was the adjoining bathroom. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and there was a good selection for breakfast. We also ate in the hotel on both evenings and found the food to be very tasty and reasonably priced. Would definitely stay again.

We enjoyed our stay Saturday night, it's a very nice country hotel with quite modern rooms, reasonably priced bar, followed by a sumptuous breakfast the next morning. Only picky points, re: arriving at the hotel, there's no signage indicating speed humps (quite high ones) and they're not painted in reflective/high visibility paint so hit the first one harder than I would have liked. When returning to the hotel in the dark, although the driveway up is very well lit, the car park has no lighting and was extremely dark, phone torches required. The entrance is spoiled somewhat by the vast amount of cigarette butts at the front door, a smoking area away from the entrance would be good.
We did enjoy our stay though and the staff we met were all very pleasant.

We booked to stay very last minute. From the initial call to check in the hospitality extended was excellent.
Sarah on the front desk very friendly and welcoming.
Our room was very clean and spacious, a great nite sleep was had.
We ate in the bar service was quick and food very tasty.
With the new covid restrictions breakfast was served to the table, poached eggs and bacon cooked perfectly.
I loved the warmth and old school hospitality we received.
I wish the staff and management all the best at this tough time for the hospitality sector.

Good evening gerliam2015,
Many thanks for your enquiry this evening. Unfortunately we do not have a swimming pool or leisure centre. There are however 5 in Westport Town Centre and you can simply pay as you go should you wish to use their facilities.
Don't hesitate to contact me if I can be of any further assistance.
Kindest regards,
Lorna
