We stayed for 2 nights in Windermere House, arriving late Friday night and found landlady Kay to be most welcoming and ready to make tea if we wished but we had a function to attend so left immediately and arrived back to a large ensuite double room at 1am to find the heating still on. For the two mornings that...

In may we went for our first time to Ireland, rented a car and saw many things of beautiful western Ireland. For the nights we went to B&B's. So we met Kay and her husband. They are very kind people. The rooms were very beautiful and clean and in the morning we got a perfect Irish breakfast. Their house is...

We really enjoyed our stay here and Kay was lovely. We had a lovely room and Kay gave us the bigger room at no extra cost to us as she was not fully booked that night which was very thoughtful of her and much appreciated. We were met with a lovely afternoon tea and a chat about where we had...

From our first email contact with Kay she demonstrated her desire to meet all our requirements. The house is superbly placed to explore Co Mayo. The grounds and the house are maintained to a high standard. The bed was extremely comfortable and we had an endless supply of hot water for showers etc. We were met on arrival with a...

Great place to stay. The lady who owns the B&B is very kind, nothing is to much. Room and bathroom are very clean. There is enough to see nearby like for example Achill Island. We did the four days walks in Castlebar, which is great also.

From the first email correspondence with Kay, she was always very helpful and put our needs first. On arrival, the house is set in its own grounds which are very well kept and there is plenty of parking area. Kay welcomed us into the house like we were old friends immediately putting the kettle on for a much needed cuppa...

I have been to Kay's two times, one almost 15 years ago and the last was three years ago. Kay is truly who you think of when you think of an Irish hostess.....very friendly and accommodating- willing to make you feel right at home. She was very gracious ( she waved the breakfast by 8:30 rule when we had a...

Kay the landlady obviously enjoys running a b&b because you just feel relaxed as soon as you arrive. The place is halfway between Castlebar & Westport. Although finding it in the dark can be tricky. There's afternoon tea when you arrive and a guest lounge available if you want to read or watch TV. Good breakfast available and Kay has maps...

From the moment I emailed her, Kay was incredibly welcome and accommodating. We had just landed in Dublin and we had wanted to make our way towards the west coast. The Windermere House was our first B&B stay and a nice stopping point towards the Connemara area. As soon as we arrived, Kay kindly helped us settle, bringing us tea...

There is nothing missing from this b&b. Kay is the most friendly and welcoming person I've met, the rooms were a good size and always clean. The location was great and you definitely won't go hungry at breakfast time! Kay treated us as I imagine she would her family, gave us ideas of where to go and visit and even...
