I have stayed in this hotel on 2 occasions in the last 6 weeks, i have been more than happy with the rooms, especially the 2nd visit where we were given a suite, it was spacious, very clean and beautiful. the hotel is in a pleasant part of Castlebar, the staff were more than helpful, the food was fantastic. The meal in the hotel was lovely, big portions and a wide variety to choose from.

Last night I attended an event called Bingo Loco hosted by the TF and while bar staff could not have been nicer the security were an utter disgrace. I have been to a lot of events where security has been required, sometimes they have been slightly forceful in their agenda but they were always professional in their actions and discussions. Last night they were a shambles. As the night drew to a close a small female security guard was telling us (and others) to "Get the f**k out". When I told her we were literally walking out the door "you better be" was her response. I asked her what the aggression was about and was given another ignorant response. Another member of our group was standing outside outside the door waiting for her boyfriend and was told to "get out" when she told them she "was already outside" she was told "Take one step inside and we'll throw you out", again said in an aggressive tone and intimidating manner to a girl who was of no harm to anyone and was in no way inebriated. We also witnessed a girl who was slightly drunk waiting outside the toilets for her male friends, be forcibly removed by three bouncers (2 male and 1 female, when she was putting up no resistance whatsoever. I ha e never seen such a gang of bullies at an event in my life and they should be ashamed of themselves. Bouncing is by all means a difficult job but most conduct themselves with a bit of professionalism.

Booked a twin room for an overnight stay as we were attending a comedy gig in the Theatre below the hotel. Check in was straight forward, however parking bays at the front of the hotel were full so went down a slope into an uneven, no tarmac, hole ridden space!!! Other cars were parked, not many as no bays were marked out, squeezed my car up against a wall and decided I wouldn't be moving it to go down the town!!!! Room was fabulous, can't fault it, clean, spacious and well laid out. Such comfortable bed!!!!! Slept all night and didn't hear a thing!!!! Really enjoyed breakfast, great choice and staff very attentive and efficient. Will definitely stay again!!! If you put your menu on your website I might have stayed there to eat. However because I couldn't see anything, I chose to walk down the town, however on check in there was a menu stand by the reception desk and the menu looked fab and reasonably priced!!! I would have stayed!!!!

Room Tip: Parking was limited so be prepared to park in the scruffy uneven section in front of the theatre

Attended a very busy wedding at this multi capable venue. Had a great time, thanks to super friendly service by the wonderful staff. They have lovely different function rooms which are very nice, food was tasty and it's worth saying again that the staff, including the managers couldn't do more for us.
