Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed here on a work trip at the start of June. Rooms immaculate and very comfortable. The owners were very friendly and had good tips on places to go for a quiet pint in Castlebar. Breakfast the next morning was excellent with the homemade apple and rhubarb jam a real find. They even gave me a jar to take home after I complimented them on it. Really nice stay and will definitely be back next time I need to be in Castlebar.

Glad you enjoyed your stay in Kennys Guesthouse. People give me fruit/berries all the time for jam making and I appreciated your compliment. Well deserving of a jar to take home. See you soon. Susanna kenny

Very nice chilling out room for guests. Fresh milk provided for tea. Thoughtful small touches to be seen everywhere.

My friend and I stayed one night at Kenny's. The room was very comfortable and the ownerss were welcoming and helpful. The beds were great. We both slept well and enjoyed our breakfasts. The homemade brown bread was very tasty. I would stay there again for sure!

My mum and her friend stayed here last weekend and were overwhelmed with what they found. They both use guesthouses all over Ireland and said that it must be the cleanest, nicest and friendly spot they have stayed in for years, and will return.

Kennys is a family run B&B in the centre of Castlebar. It is comfy, cosy, very well appointed, the owners are very friendly and accommodating, could not be in a more central location and the breakfasts are excellent, what more could you want?

Stayed here with a colleague for a night on a business trip. Found it very easily, and there was parking out the back. Checked in fine and got a key so that we could come and go as we liked. We didn't find it very homely or welcoming but it was only for one night so we made do. Our room was quite large, and the decor was modern enough and in fairly good taste. The room was freezing and we were cold all night, and the beds were quite hard and not enough warmth in the duvets that were provided for the temperature of the room. We slept fairly well as it was quiet, and went for breakfast at the time we had been told. The lady who served us was a very good host and made sure we had everything we need, and the breakfast itself was good. We then returned to our room, and as check out

I stayed here on my own for a couple of nights whilst visiting family in the town. I was made to feel very welcome and wasn't penalised price wise for being a solo traveller, which is a welcome change. My room was very nicely furnished, wonderfully clean and the bed lovely and comfy. Breakfast was delicious, lots of choice, very tasty and cooked on request. It was quite busy at breakfast time so on one morning I had to share a table. If I had any criticism it would be to perhaps replace a couple of the four seater tables for some two people settings, this is only my personal opinion. Overall, a lovely place to stay, extremely reasonably priced and very welcoming. I'm sure I will be back very soon.

We stayed at Kenny's Guesthouse for one night in August. The Kenny family were very friendly and helpful. I asked Susanne where I would go to spend a hour or two to walk and take photos and she gave me directions to the park. What a lovely way to spend an evening .... I had a walk, took photos and then was lucky enough to "Gate-crash" a festival. What luck, it sure made my day. Our room was beautiful, very clean, tastefully decorated, with tea making facilities and even a jar of biscuits everything we needed for our break.
