We stayed at Kenny's Guesthouse for one night in July. Raymond met us on our arrival and was extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was at the front which is on the main road but was surprisingly quiet. The room was quite large, modern and everything was really comfortable - the bed, the temperature etc. Given that all the rooms were booked while we were there, the B&B was nice and quiet. At breakfast we met Susanna who is a really lovely woman. The options available for breakfast were great and the food was delicious including their homemade jams and there was plenty of everything.

Both myself and my husband found it a lot more personable than staying at a hotel and would definitely consider staying here again.

We stayed here two nights while on a family history search. We found Kennys to be a great value with very congenial staff. Our room was very clean. Some parking is available. Kennys is very well located and is just around the corner from Castlebar's highly rated Bar One Gastro Pub. Staff at Kenny's recommended the Bar One and were also very helpful in our family history search. We will look to book again on future visits to Castlebar!

Old style bed and breakfast. Very friendly host, outdated infrastructure. Clean and complete though, excellent breakfast with all options made to order. Castlebar cuty though much less appealing then nearby Westport, nearly no decent restaurant open in evening

Very good welcome to this guest house which has a very central location. Lots of good facilities like a nice sitting room, iron available, telephone in room. Nice en suite bathroom and comfortable bed.The breakfast was excellent and coffee good. People return, which speaks volumes about the place and how they are received.

From the outside, Kenny's Guesthouse made us a little bit nervous - that in-your-face colour mixed with utilitarian frontage. We shouldn't have worried. It was lovely. We were early and having rung the bell, were warmly welcomed in. I had put on the booking that I was vegetarian and was asked about any particlar food requirements and what I would like for breakfast the next day.

The owners were lovely - really helpful and accommodating. The room was very clean and homely. Tea and coffee etc. were all there and there were some really nice touches - instead of the usual 'hotel' type coffee biscuits, there were some chocolate chip cookies in a little kilner jar. The owners put out milk jugs later on, so having used up all the plastic milk cartons, we could still have hot drinks. Lots of simple touches that made a great big difference. All the features in the room were fine - decent shower, quite a squashy bed, tv, free internet etc.
We were given a code for the front door and when we explained where we had parked, the owners guided us really well into the guest car park.
In the morning, we have a very nice breakfast and the owners gave us some ideas for places to visit while we made our way back to Dublin.
All in all, this was a lovely stay in a traditional feel B&B and it really exceeded what we had expected, so full marks to the owners!

Lovely, comfortable room and also a comfortable sitting room. Very helpful to have wi-fi. Everything spotless. Mugs for tea in the bedrooms and fresh milk. Delicious breakfasts with lots of choice, including fruit salad and eggs from their own hens, home made jam and bread, real coffee. Susanna and Raymond were very kind and relaxed hosts - it did feel like a home from home. Useful car park and we left the car there most of the time as everything was easy to walk to.

Kenny's is a great place to stay. I was there for over a week and Susannah made me feel extremely welcome. The room was comfortable. The breakfast was delicious - especially the fresh fruit salad and the poached eggs. And the location is perfect. Everything in Castlebar is in easy walking distance from Kenny's. I would recommend anyone to stay there and will certainly go back if I am in Castlebar again.

Kenny's Guesthouse, from the moment we stepped through the door provided us with a home away from home. Despite arriving earlier than check in time, Suzanne made us feel so welcome. Our room was lovely, very clean and comfortable. We were provided with lots of local information including good places to eat. After a good night sleep, the Irish fry fuelled us for the rest of the day.
The hospitality we experienced at Kenny's would be hard to beat.

Myself and my wonderful friend have just returned from an overnight stay at kenny's guesthouse, we had booked it, as we were visiting the theatre in castlebar on saturday night. We will definitely come back to kenny's again, it was absoloutely spotless, the beds were so comfy and the bedlinen white and crisp and clean. The family were so obliging and couldnt do enough for you, especially the daughter, im sorry didnt get her name but she was so kind. The breakfast in the morning was fab, such good value, residents lounge cosy and warm, we will be back for an overnight christmas shopping stay, thank you so much, we thoroughly enjoyed it, well worth the price we paid!

Excellent B&B and highly recommended. We've stayed twice now at Kenny's in June 2014 and June 2015. We've had two wonderful experiences. My teenage daughter really appreciates the breakfast choice of french toast vs. the traditional Irish breakfast. Susanna and Raymond are most gracious and wonderful hosts. Very modern B&B with little extras (tea, cookies, etc.) and our room had a remodeled bath - very nice.
