My boyfriend and decided to put this Hotel at the last Minuit and what a fantastic two nights we had. We got the last room. The staff were lovely and very accommodating. On the second day we were too tired to go down to get food so we ordered room service the people were really lovely about it and kept coming up when we rang up. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone who is looking to get away for a couple of nights.

This is a beautiful hotel, cosy and intimate. Staff could give a masterclass in how it should be done elsewhere, quietly friendly, all smiling and so helpful. When my Irish coffee did not come up scratch, in the opinion of the head bar tender that is, he put it aside and made another one for me, impressive attention to detail. The bedrooms are really very small but immaculate and bed very comfortable. Anyhow, who would want to spend time in a bedroom other than to sleep when the public areas are so attractive. Cannot recommend it enough and cannot wait to stay there again, love it.

I've been to Scholars a few times for meetings. The rooms are nicely decorated, maintaining links to the history of the building itself as well as paying homage to local history. It can be a bit of a labyrinth and finding your way to a particular room not always the easiest task in the world. One thing I have to say is that the coffee available for groups has never been quite right. It would also be nice to be offered herbal teas as an alternative as not everyone is a traditional tea/coffee drinker and I've seen people looking left out when they couldn't enjoy a hot drink. I will definitely return, but might stick to water next time.

Have had many lovely meals in this hotel and always of the highest standard. Again this evening my friend and I called in and had a delicious meal in the lounge. There is such a lovely warm, cosy and calm ambience which is very rare in larger hotels and restaurants. The staff are friendly and very professional. Our visit this evening was nearly ruined when we discovered,on returning to our car, that we had a puncture. It was a wet cold evening. We went back into the hotel to see if anyone could help. Without hesitation two of the male staff came out, told us to sit inside and took charge of the situation. It was not straightforward but the job was done.We didn't even get to thank the man who did all the hard work...so I would like to say a big thank you to him now. Not only does

Stayed for one night on a business trip and I have to say the Hotel is lovely. Will on reception was great and helpful. The bed was so comfortable, the shower was so big and the breakfast was so fresh and the staff was lovely. I had wings in the bar which was beautiful. I would defo stay again if in the area.
