Delicious dinner in Scholars last night. Very strict Covid cert check at the door which made us feel very safe. Also tables are well spaced. Had a table in the bar area and we enjoyed a delicious sirloin steak, cooked to perfection. Great, friendly service too. Well done to all concerned.
Such an enjoyable stay. I was on my own and the staff could not have been more attentive and made my stay very comfortable. The food is excellent, hotel is very clean with interesting interior. Highly recommend it
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Scholars, it is a fabulous hotel and the staff were lovely and helpful. We spent our first two nights in a very expensive hotel in Malahide and I have to say our stay in Scholars was much more comfortable. The breakfasts were lovely especially the smashed avocado. We will definitely be back.
It was a terrible experience worst I’d have in years , as customers that would have went here quite often didn’t enjoy this experience at all bad service and food not much better sorry guys I was so disappointed, service was so bad and This is my fabulous place to go I always felt I wasn’t in Drogheda when I went to your hotel
From the history and architecture of the buildings themselves to the excellent staff, both helpful and friendly, to the exquisite cuisine using only the freshest local ingredients, this place is fabulous. What is most surprising is how affordable it is!
We were delighted to finish up our short staycation in Scholars Townhouse, and it seems we left the best until last. It was like going back to see old friends, and the warm and friendly greeting from all the staff was really nice. A very well stocked bar and a very impressive dining room. This visit was a delight from start to finish, and we hope to return soon. Definitely one of our favourites, and very Highly Recommended.
One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. Ordered catch of the day - salmon on seafood risotto with a Prosecco cream sauce. Fish cooked to perfection and so much flavour in the risotto. I wish I could have it all over again. Compliments to the chef. Thank you!
Charming hotel with lots of interesting things to look at. All the staff were very friendly and professional. The food at breakfast and dinner was really delicious and served in a lovely setting. A couple of housekeeping issues spotted on arrival in the room were dealt with promptly.
Had my first experience today of Scholar's Townhouse Hotel, and it won't be my last. Coming up from Waterford to take my sister to lunch, she chose here, and we both loved it. From being met at the entrance to have our covid certs checked to when we left, everying and everyone were attentive, pleasant and welcoming. The lunch menu was really good, and we both opted for the old reliable, fish and chips. Well, it can only be described as gorgeous. The best fish and chips I've had in any establishment, and that's saying a lot at 65. Well done chef, and thank you. Dessert too was scrunptious, you'll just have to go and experience it. The staff were all polite, attentive without crowding you, and friendly. Again, well done to all. I left looking forward to when I can return, and that…
We booked this hotel as we were going to the Listoke gin school experience which was located a short drive away. From the moment we booked the staff were extremely helpful and kind. They ensured we had seating times we wanted both nights and also catered to all of our requirements. We had 2 amazing meals, once in the restaurant and the second in the gastro lounge. Both meals were incredible and the food was of such a high standard. We also had cocktails in the lounge, all delicious and the bar staff could not have been nicer! We stayed in the family room (3 adults) and had plenty of space for our luggage and to relax in the evenings. Would highly recommend to anyone who is staying in the locality or looking for an evening away!
