I stayed here for 1 night with my family. From start to finish the experience was one to be remembered. The owners should be very proud and the staff are amazing. The food was as good as anywhere and the surroundings are beautiful.
Me and my partner originally from Drogheda decided to spend night here as it looks like the best quality out of all hotels in the town. Lady on check in was lovely and it was quick and easy no standing around. I booked room 161 with four poster bed which was the comfiest bed I have slept in IN AGES!!! Didn’t want to leave this morning if I could of paid for later check out I would of. Room was big and spacious lovely modern bathroom and also quite warm for a while. Staff didn’t mind us running in and out for smokes really late at night. This hotel has a very homey feeling which is great. Only thing I have to complain about it the noise of children coming from the school beside it but the hotel itself cannot help that. I would recommend if you want a lie in in the morning with quietness book during weekend cause kids screaming woke me up twice.…
For any family thinking of visiting the “Garden Room” restaurant with children better think twice....We attempted to make a reservation for a family of 6 this evening (2 adults, 1 adult child and 3 younger children) for a 5.30 sitting, the guy on the phone who was quite polite informed me that their policy was a minimum €40 per head spend even for the children. I asked him to check with management which he did and they confirmed what he said. While I did receive a prompt reply from the MD by email offering an earlier in the day time slot and made excuses due to Covid restrictions even though most people are quite aware of the generous SME government assistance, wage supports, tax deferrals etc available at present.
Have say we’ll done to the staff in scholars from we walked true the door till we left, as it was our first dinner out since Covid they did an amazing job at making us feel safe.. the food was just out of this world from starter to desert and probably 4 of the best cooked and tastiest we’ve tasted .. looking forward to going back .. thanks
Having had to cancel during lockdown, we were delighted to make it to Scholars for an overnight stay on the 23rd. My interaction before getting there had been very professional and friendly - I had the same experience when there. Really nice staff! Delicious meals. Scholars is a listed building with a great history that has been tastefully renovated. As a result, our bedrooms were small but we had the best of bed linen and plenty of fluffy towels. I was impressed by their covid precautions, including Coffee & Tea facilites having been removed from the rooms (but we were given a voucher for same, which was a nice gesture) It was easy to spend hours wandering around Drogheda - there is so much to see. We really enjoyed our Staycation, and would highly recommend both Scholas and Drogheda as a place to go for a break.…
