I have had the pleasure to eat here on a number of occasions over the last few years. The restaurant is fantastic, excellent food and service in a beautiful setting. The bar food is also of a very high standard and is also a lovely setting for a couple of drinks. I can honestly say I would highly recommend Scholars... More

The hotel is beautiful with a lot of wood panelling in the public areas and the hallways. It is a boutique hotel. We really enjoyed our stay but you need to be aware that the rooms are quite small, albeit comfortable. Breakfast was excellent but it is not a buffet. You choose from a fixed menu. Definitely worth a visit.

My wife and I stayed overnight in this very imposing establishment, which included an evening dinner. The interior is all inspiring : Beautiful unique features including ceiling murals, wall pictures of historical significance of Drogheda along with paintings, very impressive indeed. The staff were very friendly and efficient and the food was exceptional especially the evening dinner in the restaurant. Whils the... More

We booked this hotel for a weekend away. The location was central to Drogheda town and, as we had a hire car for our stay, the guest car park was a large part of choosing to stay here. The hotel's public rooms are beautiful, with a good size bar / lounge area and separate restaurant, but what really makes this... More

Rooms disappointing - bedroom very small with a 12 inch TV while the bathroom was equally tiny. Good restaurant. Better to eat there and find alternate accomodation particularly as relatively expensive for the quality.

Very lovely building but in my opinion not the best place to stay. Maybe the other rooms were better, or maybe my expectative was too high, I was expecting a big room with the big bed and bla bla bla, but we got just a regular one. When we arrive the parking lot was full they said it was because... More

We booked this hotel for my son's Confirmation day outing and it turned out to be a great choice. The hotel is old world, classy, stylish and with a relaxing ambiance. The dining area was lovely - a table for 8 of us by the window with excellent service. The food was delicious with interesting and varied menu choices. My... More

I was staying at Scholars as part of a small party touring the area. The room, although small, had all the required amenities, and was very comfortable. Breakfast was served between 7 and 10.30 am, an unusually long period of availability which was most welcome. Breakfast itself was extensive, tasty and plentiful. As a sufferer from Coeliac Disease it was... More

Very cute and classy small hotel. Beautiful bar with an amazing staff. We had two family members birthdays to celebrate and this hotel left us with an excellent experience. After dinner we smoked cigars outside then ventured to the bar. Bartenders are amazing here. If you can think of it, they can make it. My only complaint I had was... More
