Really a gem of a hotel in the centre of Drogheda, Rooms are beautiful clean and fresh smell when you walk in. Staff are super and reception team they work fantastic to make sure you have a wonderful stay. I will definitely tell people about this wonderful hotel.
Was looking a last min acc and the reception advised there was no rooms available , i told her i just saw 3 on in internet which she said is booked out i went and made a booking and showed her and she said ok, she wasted my time and was either lazy or too racist to give me the room . Eventually she gave me a room , was the worst room with stains on the bed , i was not able to stay in a room like this given the way it was and from the reception who was not helpful and just judged me , Sent an email to the GM and yet ti get a response, i hoper you can teach your recption manners to not treat people like trash and lie about bookings. Hopefully your head office can hear about this happy to tell the whole story of how she treated me when checking in.
To the ladies at reception, just smile and be friendly please, that IS your job. We were there for a wedding, and you acted like you knew nothing about it when we checked in. You were NOT willing to help or even friendly. We asked about heating in the bedroom and you said it will be fine, it wasn't. We had to try to sort it out at 3am. When we checked out, no smile, no 'how was your stay', no thanks. Quite incredible really. All other staff were very friendly. Dear hotel management, retrain your receptionists, they give a very bad impression of your otherwise well run business.
Location is great for this hotel, with free parking (that is directly connected to rear of Hotel). The hotel is old, but the decor is in great shape, looks like it is decorated in the last year or two. My room was an unconventional shape, but is good clean condition. The Bathroom was very clean and well maintained. Shower was reasonably powerful. I didn’t want to venture out for food, so eat in the bar. This was disappointing. The service and staff were very efficient and friendly. I had the Thai curry, with chicken, and it was tasteless, not to mind bland (no kick or even small curry kick). So if I stay here again I would be slow to try the food in the bar... One other thing that is unusual - and very important if you have mobility challenged - no Lift. I was put on the third floor and as the building is old there are a few short sets of stairs. But I was kinda winded (ok I’m not fit) after them. Even on the third floor (at the rear of the hotel, I could still hear some music or party - not enough to disturbed me, but I noticed it. I will likely stay here again, but with the lack of a lift and the food experience I might check other offerings in Drogheda. Lastly all in all the place was clean friendly and very good value (except of course the food).…
Right in the centre of drogheda, free parking, easy to locate. Staff were friendly and helpful, restaurant/bar was busy nights we stayed due to Christmas party season, but didn’t bother us. Hotel while centre is in keeping with the historical building and does not have a lift, and isn’t wheelchair friendly. Lovely decor and spotless. Would stay again if going to drogheda
Very nice upmarket restaurant in the Westcourt hotel. Must book Food is excellent, lots of choice, service is excellent. Nice atmosphere, comfortable and not too expensive They have Tapas and regular menus.
Booked for two nights room only. It’s the smallest room I’ve ever stayed in. Looks like an attic conversion. But they forgot to install any sound insulation between the rooms. Had to call reception at 0430 to ask them to get next door to turn their tv down! It needed a good dusting too.
Great location for easy access to the town, carpark right behind the hotel. Rooms are adequate, good shower but cramped bed space. Popular for bar food but be warned, there are tv screens everywhere but all showing the same thing !!
Stayed for three nights whilst playing golf in the area. Perfect location in the middle of town, easy walking to all the bars and restaurants. Good size rooms, comfy beds, good food and good bar downstairs. Would be 5 star, however shower was atrocious - hot/cold/hot/cold/no water/water - mentioned it at reception and they knew about it but dismissed it “oh we get that a lot!!” Still highly recommended.
We truly enjoyed our stay at Westcourt Hotel. The rooms were large and comfortable, the bathrooms are amazing, and every member of the staff with whom we interacted was friendly and helpful. Sarah at the front desk should be particularly commended - she was incredibly gracious and very tuned-in and aware. Give Sarah a raise in pay! One point to emphasize is that this is very definitely not a handicap-accessible building. There is a flight of stairs from the carpark to the main level, and all of the sleeping rooms are at least one flight of stairs up from the lobby. There is no lift in the building. Wheelchair users, and those for whom multiple flights of stairs are a problem, should look elsewhere. My assumption is that the building predates the statutes that require accessibility and was grandfathered in, but it is surprising and a bit troubling that in 2019, an entire hotel is inaccessible to a significant part of the population. This is the reason for the four-star rating; otherwise, I would give Westcourt Hotel five stars.…
