Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Checked in on a Saturday night because of it's close proximity to the Dublin airport that we were flying out of on Sunday. It was located right in the thick of things, in fact, we never had to leave the hotel. We ended up having to pay 135 euro for the last room available. Very pricey compared to what we had been paying all week. We checked into a nice large room overlooking the street so it was kind of noisy. There was a public parking garage behind the hotel that they let you park there for free by validating the ticket.

We were looking to have a good time our last night in Ireland so we asked the receptionist where to go, and she said right here. The bar next door, that's part of the hotel would be the hot spot. She wasn't lying. After a good dinner in the restaurant, we headed over to the bar. They had a live DJ and it was packed. Standing room only. At 11pm, the hotel's club, Earth, opens up and the front desk will give you free passes to get in. With all this great stuff located in the hotel, you suffer until about 2am in the rooms because they are over the bar. I could hear every song played and all the people leaving since I was just staying above them. So this hotel is very noisy on the weekends at least.

The rooms were nice though, and the included breakfast was very good. I would probably stay here again if I had to stay in Drogheda.

I recently stayed at the Westcourt Hotel in Drogheda for almost a week this March and I have to say it was one of the best hotels I have stayed in. The service I received from both staff and management of the hotel was top class, their restaurant was great and the Barroco bar was trendy and fun for all. We had a nice large room overlooking the main street. Great Hotel, you should stay there.

Was looking a last min acc and the reception advised there was no rooms available , i told her i just saw 3 on in internet which she said is booked out i went and made a booking and showed her and she said ok, she wasted my time and was either lazy or too racist to give me the room . Eventually she gave me a room , was the worst room with stains on the bed , i was not able to stay in a room like this given the way it was and from the reception who was not helpful and just judged me , Sent an email to the GM and yet ti get a response, i hoper you can teach your recption manners to not treat people like trash and lie about bookings. Hopefully your head office can hear about this happy to tell the whole story of how she treated me when checking in.

To the ladies at reception, just smile and be friendly please, that IS your job.

We were there for a wedding, and you acted like you knew nothing about it when we checked in. You were NOT willing to help or even friendly.
We asked about heating in the bedroom and you said it will be fine, it wasn't. We had to try to sort it out at 3am.
When we checked out, no smile, no 'how was your stay', no thanks. Quite incredible really.

All other staff were very friendly.

Dear hotel management, retrain your receptionists, they give a very bad impression of your otherwise well run business.

I attended a wedding, staff and waiters of the venue were brilliant! Other than that the night the security staff were very aggressive after last orders (10mins previous) they became very aggressive in there removal of the wedding party resulting in a commotion to the party and an argument resulting to a negative experience to my large family experience!! I do believe this tarnished the evening after the serious amount of
Money been spent in that establishment!

We booked a girlie night out for my daughters 18th birthday . We were very impressed with the decor in the reception and had high hopes for the rooms. But we were sorely disappointed. The carpets were filthy and extra beds were squashed into the room for some unknown reason. Bathrooms were disgraceful and there was a leak from the room upstairs into our bathroom. When the night was booked we were given a SPECIAL deal !!! This consisted of bed and breakfast finger food and vip area reserved in the nightclub. The finger food had hair in it as did a sandwich that was ordered earlier and there was no vip area reserved for us and when we approached the nightclub manager she was very aggressive and unhelpful. We paid €75 per person for one night for rooms that were sub standered and hairy food. We did not bother with breakfast for fear of more hairy encounters. We were given a partial refund but my daughters night was ruined and she was very upset. We were asked to come back and assured we would be given the best room in the house but we would never go near the place again unless it was to kennell dogs. Caroline K

On Saturday July 18th I rented a bicycle from reception at The Westcourt Hotel, Drogheda, where I was staying for the weekend with my 3 friends . We all went to reception to get togged out. A bike each, high vis jacket, helmet and bottle of water. The gel saddles were all a bit high so the receptionist got the Allen key and fixed the saddle to each individual height.we took off along the river to Oldbridge, site of the Battle of The Boyne. An extremely enjoyable 5k cycle in beautiful sunshine and arrived at Oldbridge to meet many more cyclists out for the day. So fair deuce to the management of the Westcourt Hotel to be up there with the current interests of everyone in Ireland these days. Cycling is so popular , it's great to go to a hotel, like the Westcourt in Drogheda, that provides bicycles at 15 euro for the whole day , to their customers. We had coffee in Oldbridge, another spectacular place to visit, not just the house with its wonderful history but the gardens as well. So because of the bikes we hired on July 18th and the fact that the weather was favourable, the 4 of us, had a most enjoyable and energetic day out and about around Drogheda.
Thanks to the foresight of The Westcourt Hotel.

Arts festival weekend:

Seriously unfriendly listless staff. €90 euros yet no breakfast. Floor of room on 1st floor vibrating with noise from band / DJ below. Carpet was filthy and beds uncomfortable

Aggressive doormen and aggressive night porter (Ian) who claimed one of us didn't have a booking which was embarrassing- he didnt even apologise when he was completely in the wrong.

Carnage on the streets (on a Sunday night!) - literally a guy outside with his face beaten to a pulp and lots of screaming and shouting

We looked at the D afterwards and it was €130 with breakfast included - much better plan

Me and my family stayed at the Westcourt Hotel for 1 night and I have to say I couldn't fault it at all. We had booked 2 rooms for our stay and we arrived very early at 9am - check in is normally 2pm - however the lady on reception said that 1 of the rooms was available and we could check in straight away at no extra cost! This was so helpful, especially having a 2yr old in the family to try and entertain. They also let us have the room until 4pm the following day, so accommodating and nothing is too much! The hotel itself is lovely - clean, modern, very central location but I think the staff make it what it is. I have never experienced such polite and friendly customer service! I think hotels in London should take a leaf out of their books!! There was a little noise in the evening but we were informed about this before our stay and had no problem with it (after all it was a Saturday night and me and my sister were in the hotel bar in the evening!) All in all a brilliant stay - 10 out of 10 for customer service! Thanks so much for all your help and hospitality! The Hall family

Hi Daniel No fridges in any rooms but the bar did give us buckets of ice when we needed it. We arrived early and our room was not ready so they took our bags off us and had them sent up to the room as soon as it was ready. Really good service. Check out was 12 so you get a good sleep.
